  1. I recommend this as well. Had mine for a few weeks now and couldnt be more impressed.Wish I would have bought one sooner.
  2. Is Brazos the only kit that comes with the angles cut? None of the other kits out there seem to make this claim
  3. Anyone know if this also applies to an STI trojan frame or is the issue only with STI 2011s?

    STI

If they had one in .40 or .45 id be on it!
  5. Tried searching for info on this but no luck... Does anyone have any experience with this safety? Looking for a good ambi for a Trojan

Please tell me they have something similar to the Trojan coming. I just picked up my first Trojan today. Was previously someones safe queen and I am blown away by this thing... Slide to frame fit and barrel lock up are incredible. I almost bought a 3k dollar custom and I am glad I didn't... anyways I would buy more of these or similar in a heartbeat if available
  7. anyone know if the tripp mags with tripp aluminum basepads are long enough to work with the no gap ice magwell?
  8. Im a fan of Slip 2000s EWL 30 oil. Its pretty thick and fills the gap between oil and grease really well in my opinion. If i dont have the EWL 30 on hand I will use lucas extreme On my carry 1911 I use slide glide lite
  9. Ive been using the Frank proctor Y notch rear sight and fiber optic front on my 1911 for about a year now. I have been pretty happy with it compared to other fixed rear pistol sights. New 1911 which will be coming soon will have a square bomar rear. Not sure how they will compare since I have no experience with target style rear sights.
  10. Thanks for all that. Definitely makes it easier to hear from someone thats been there, done that. Also, I was just informed by STI that if I purchase a used Trojan, it would still be covered under warranty. Im going with the Trojan. Will purchase a Tripp gun next year maybe
  11. Yea, Im definitely leaning more that way But mostly because I just like nice things... not sure if I Will actually gain much as far as shooting goes with a gun in that price range and my current skill level. Were the Trojans typically problematic for you?
  12. Looks great! Just what I needed since the pics on tripps website dont do it justice IMHO I have been in communication with them and find that they have pretty competitive prices and are very helpful but Im Still undecided about dropping the cash on a Tripp gun or a budget gun like a used Trojan worked over by Tripp and then use the savings for a significant amount of ammo
  13. Ive been running the CP buffs in my RRA .45 single stack for a few thousand rounds.... I think im only on the second one. I do like the way recoil feels with it installed and have not had any problems so far
  14. Anyone have one of their guns? I cant seem to find anything at all out there about them. I understand Tripp was the founder of STI so they obviously know what theyre doing. If anyone has a gun from them and wouldnt mind posting pictures, it would really help me make a decision. Thanks
  15. Im in for $1800 if they come out with a 45 ACP version. Cant find the 9mm for sale anywhere... guess it hasn't been released yet?
  16. Well this is a total bummer to hear. I still havent been to a single match, but have been training for the last year with intentions of competing in SS So if its dead that just means there wont be any competition or I wont have a class to compete in?
  17. Alright I think I have it figured out. Read somewhere that its likely not enough tension on extractor. My extractor passed all the tension tests, but thought id add some tension for the hell of it and see what happens... It seems to have fixed the problem. Will confirm at range later this week.
  18. The empty case ends up parallel with the next round in mag. Case pointing forward towards muzzle. When stuck like this I can work the slide back all the way and ejector does not contact case. It appears to be riding high on breech face right over ejector. Gun has about 5000 rounds on it. The only changes are a new extractor about 1000 rounds ago. I also noticed damage to the underside of ejector from mag over insertion but the tip of ejector looks good. I have possible extractor clocking. Noticed the firing pin stop has play... Don't know if that's a bad thing though Will get pics when home later. Thanks
  19. So I've been having failure to eject issues roughly 2 out of 100 rounds. I was finally able to recreate the issue at home cycling rounds / cases by hand. It appears that the spent case is ending up above the ejector and remaining held by the extractor then slamming forward with the slide What has me baffled is I can only create this issue with one mag (wilson) and it will not occur with the first few rounds in the mag but always with the last couple rounds. Another thing... I'm positive that this happens occasionally with my tripp mags during live fire but can't get it to happen with them at home. Adjusted extractor tension both ways and it didn't seem to change anything. What do you guys think?
  20. Thanks for your input. I Just don't want to end up with a gun that costs several grand and works against me. Since this gun does not have stirrup or ball cuts, it will definitely have a weight increase in that area... Combined with a heavy dustcover I'm wondering if it might make the gun noticeably nose heavy. Might end up being a great thing. I have no idea. Guess ill have to find out the hard way.
  21. When you say it shoots fine do you mean there's not much of a noticeable difference compared to any other single stack?
  22. Still planning out a single stack build and came across the gun pictured with a lack of Stirrup or butler cuts. straight line all the way to muzzle. Does anyone know how this will effect handling/muzzle rise? obviously that is added weight up front but is there such a thing as too much? Wish I could test fire something like this... any thoughts?
