  1. Is the STI Edge 40 legal (fit in the box) for "Standard" Division with a shorter magazine pad? If not what is a comparable next choice in gun for IPSC? How does one get Classified in IPSC, are there any local matches in the US? What is the difference between "Open" and the "Modified" Divisions? I was thinking of shooting the Ecuador Open and the Columbus Cup in Panama next year wanted to know what gear and preparation I needed to do so. I think it would make a good shooting vacation.
  2. Sad thing is, I used to own Nortel Stock too.
  3. Don't feel bad, the boulder scene was the very first thing I thought about myself.
  4. I should design a electronic magwell that's magnetic and have magnetic basepads. Push the mag release button and the magwell reverses polarity and shoots the mag out. Release the Mag button polarity of magwell goes to normal and and aids in grabbing and seating the mag. You can see hw my mind works.
  5. Thanks Crusher I'll try that out.
  6. What is that wrapped around Carls gun??
  7. Thanks for your input. The theory of me squeezing to hard or the trigger gaurd being trimmed to high is not the culprit. I will check for rough spots inside the grip. One other thing. I'm using the Grams Springs and Followers and we trimmed the followers but the followers do not go all the way to the top of the tube. It does however go up high enough to have the last round cycle, but I don't have that added benefit like I do with a traditional 1911 and having the follower touching the slide and having the magspring assist in shooting the Magazine out when the mag catch button is pressed. Input???
  8. I shoot an Edge 40 right now with STI mags and Dawson Pads and Grams Springs and Followers (19+1, 20+1 if I squeeze it in, but not reloadable). Although the mags work fine they drop slower than molasses. Some have said to polish them with steel wool while others have advised against it (taking material off). I was also thinking of having the mags chromed but was also told I may have problems since you're "adding material". I'd like something other than just a quick fix, like Mag slick. I was thinking of buying a set of SVI Mag tubes and building a new set of mags. What are your thoughts?
  9. I saw that on ebay as well. I sent them an email about the $10,000 and it's tht way as more of an advertisement. I did think long and hard about clicking the "Buy it now" just to see what they'd do. If you live in the US you'd be better purchasing it locally from CED rather than that ebay store or Double Alpha (nothing against Saul) you're just paying more for conversion and shipping is all. It's $119 euros plus their shipping vs. $119 here and our shipping. I was thinking of getting one of these. Sucker has everything.
  10. BigDave, Thanks for the explanation on the scoring, it clears up a lot of questions. Are the local matches held for this or is this something you just practice on your own. I don't know of any clubs around here that shoot Bianchi Style, unless they're calling it something else. Give em hell!!!
  11. Would someone mind explaining the scoring?
  12. There's more? Rich This is one of my favorites! It's Cobra Commander(GI Joe), Skelator (He-Man), Mumra (Thundercats), and Lex Luther carpooling to work. http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/view?&...e=9.3MB&dur=147
  13. Congrats Guys. How long did it take you guys to make GM?
  14. Yeah that one is great. I actually got the first season on DVD. It never gets old!!!!
  15. WWB??? Puleeeeeeeease! Sellier and Bellot Ammo Baby!! Real man's ammo!!!!!!
  16. You may go to the back of the line,I AM FIRST PAT It might help Pat if you put a little more powder in those loads you're shooting. I saw how fast your splits were on stage 5 and how some of your bullets were still stuck in the back target at 25 yards. Plus you won't have to aim your gun up so high when shooting a 25 yard target. lol Your rounds sound like marracas.
  17. Congratulations Charles on your place at last Sunday's Match. Now all you have to do is move up to Expert in CDP for the State Match? I had to say something as much as you and Pat razzed me for being a Marksman.
  18. Burkett and Enos talk about "Calling the Shot" for example, shooting a plate rack. Most people shoot and stop for the visual or the sound of the bullet hitting the plate before they move to the next plate, therefore increasing their time. By calling the shot, they know where their sights were at the precise moment the shot broke and moved to the next target without confirmation. Matt Burkett in his "How to Practice" Video (I think it's volume 7), completely blows off a plate rack in less than two and half seconds. Very impressive! I've read several shooting books and "Thinking Practical Shooting" by Saul Kirsch as well as "Beyond Fundamentals" by Brian Enos will give you a lot of clarity and deep insight when it comes to practical shooting.
  19. Dude, I can't stop watching this video. I think I've watched it over twenty times over and over laughing non-stop. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but it reminds me of when I was little shooting with my dad.
  20. I've seen a lot of th SVI Triggers with the adjustable faces. The Flat, Bottom Curved, Top Curved, Long Curved, Short Curved, etc. What's the rationale behind the different triggers? Is it just out of plain feel and preference or is there actually a method to the trigger shape with how big or small your hands are and also in relation to how fast you can squeeze or slap the trigger? If you have a Custom Trigger, why did you choose what you chose??
  21. I thought it might be cutting it close. Thanks for the heads up!
  22. I just wanted to make sure that you recieved my "Invitation To Compete" form back. I recieved mine pretty close to the May 12th due date (was at Area 6) and sent it right back out when I got home.
  23. I'm talking about the info packet that needed to be back by May 12. Do we get any final confirmation back that everything is good to go?
