I have a new Sony Handycam hooked up to my PC (my computer is no slauch) with a Firewire Cable and when I transfer from the Camcorder the video saved on the PC either speeds up, or skips a little. When I watch through the camcorder it's normal speed with no skipping. What am I missing? Can it be due to the fact that during transfer I'm still browsing the net??

My roomate and I used to Play Madden Football on my Playstation everynight after we both got off of work (it was an ongoing rivalry we had). One month we were in the middle of a game and he asked "hey the electric bill came in do you want to pay it and get out of the way?" I said "nah lets do it tomarrow" we kept doing this for several weeks and in the middle of a game one night everything shut off. We were like "Oh, $hit", sitting in the dark with the Playstation controllers in our hands. I ended up calling one of the girls I used to hook up with and stayed the night at her place and he called and stayed with one of his, until the next day when they finally turned our power back on at like 5:30 in the afternoon. Back then it sucked, it wasn't like we didn't have the money, we just kept putting it off like a couple of dumbasses. After that we never waited to pay it, that bill was paid the very same day it arrived and in the mail the next day. Thinking back on it now, neither of us living the batchelor lifestyle anymore, we still both laugh about it.

Smokeshwn, Dirtypool, You guys seriously mistook what I meant about provoking attacks and my "Fear of these idiots feeble attempts" as smokshwn so eloquently put it. I know that their that primary and about only weapon is fear. I was basically stating that I hope that by killing this guy it strongly weakens their morale and their organization rather than strengthen it. I have no problem with the US being over there kicking the $hit out of them, Yeah it bothers me seeing what Nick Berg's Father said about Al-Zarqawi death and how he described him killing his son, having to feel his breath on his arm was more moral than Bush sitting behind a desk, and yeah 9/11 still bothers me, who doesn't it bother? So for me to say that I hope we don't have reoccurance of 9/11 attacks is not out of fear. Who would want that happen again?

I know that this is a little off topic here but let me ask. I was told that a Silencer/Suppresor slows down bullet velocity, I do notice quite a difference in recoil when shooting my H&K Tactical with WWB, but am unaware of velocity change cause I never chronoed it. If this is correct. If Comps do the same thing (slow down velocity by releasing pressure and lowering recoil), then would it not be a wash with recoil because they'd have to load more to make Major Power Factor?

I wasn't going to post this earlier but it helped me realize something about competitions. Before my first Major Match which was Florida State, I emailed Matt and asked him the very same question you posted. About ten minutes later he called my cell phone (I've bought his DVD's and spoke with him briefly in the past) which surprised me, and asked "what in the world I was so nervous about?" I said "I want to do good and shoot as well as I do at my local matches" he said "If you lose, what do you lose? Nothings going to happen, You're not shooting for a lot of money, or a car, most of us shoot this sport for the fun of it, few shoot for the sponsors, those guys have something to be concerned about. Just shoot, have fun, and let subconscious from your training and practice take over and let you win.". I did, won Hi "C" in Limited after only 3 months of shooting USPSA. Coming to the realization that I'm shooting for the love of the game and not thinking of anything negative (consciously we can only think of one thing at a time, subconsciously we can think of many things at the same time) like mikes, hitting no shoots, etc. has really helped me contain my overall match stress. You have to do a little fitting with it (the firing pin block if I remember correctly). It doesn't take long to do, I myself would rather let someone more experienced do it and make sure it's done right the first time. The directions seem easy enough, that the next time I may tackle the task myself.

I don't know if you've picked up Saul Kirsh's book "Thinking Practical Shooting" but it discusses how to deal with match nerves and stress. One of the things he says is in practice, visualize that you're in a major match, from the stage decorations, to the shooters, to what they're saying in the background, everything to try to make it as real as possible. Another thing he says is, when we shoot local matches and in practice there's nothing at stake, you're relxaed because of this. Get a bet going with another shooter, put something on the line to add that "tension" that way when you do that enough, you'll know how to deal with the butterflies and use the adrenaline for energy to help you move faster. You'll get used to that feeling and use it to your advantage.

Damn that sucks!!! How is your forearm? Do you still have full range of motion with it (no muscle damage)? I was at a match a few weeks ago and this guy was shooting a straight up pepper popper and the bullet zinged straight back by my head. Startled the hell out of me! I always get hit with flying shrapnel so now I stand behind someone else. Wish you the best.

Saying that your gun doesn't like factory length ammo and it's not extracting the spent casing before trying to feed another round, doesn't make sense, at least to me. I was having challenges myself off and on (primarily in matches) with doublefeeds in my Edge. Try the Aftec and you should be good to go. It cleared up all of my doublefeed dilemas! Also, try other factory ammo as well and see if the problem prevails, but definately get the Aftec!!!!!!

How long ago did you get the slot and pay for it? I recieved my packet within a week of paying for slot. I would imagine that Kimberly is swamped sending these things out and issueing Nationals slots. I'd give her a litttle more time, you'll get it.

I have seen that SVI before. I thought that was very ingenious to create something like that to fit in the box, I wonder how accurate it shoots.
