  1. Ya right! This one pretty much covered all of the voices talkig in my head sorry i had to rehash aleady discussed material, but that discussion was pretty extensive. Thanks guys
  2. Thats exactly what i found, which leads me to believe that it is ok, the easy fix is to get a head shot is to make the body hard cover but I want to use the same targets to score 3 shots, one being a head shot.
  3. OK i will go this route This one says unless specified in the written stage briefing etc, so without evidence otherwise I assume as long as I put it in the written stage briefing I can specify 2 body and one head shot. 9.5.1 Unless otherwise specified in the written stage briefing, scoring paper targets must be shot with a minimum of one round each, with the best two hits to score. Scoring metal targets must be shot with a minimum of one round each and must fall to score.
  4. If it was easily found I wouldnt ask it and I wouldnt be spending all weekend making stages for next weekend. I have read the book and I have this question. My challange is to make stages that fit into a small area so i am very limited in stage design. There are guys on here that can answer it in seconds as I have already spent a lot of time studying and can not find the reference. But thanks for your imput!
  5. OK diffrent stage, is it legal to specify 2 body and 1 head shot?
  6. That was the drill we were doing today that started the debate that lead me to come here where the smart fellas are!
  7. I was reading more into 1.1.5.1 I guess and thinking at a level 1 you could specify more than is allowed. Thanks!
  8. I am wanting to make a stage that involves a plate rack where there are 2 shooting boxes. The start position is in shooting box a and at the start signal you move sideways to box b and engage 6 plates, if you miss a plate you have to move back to box a to reengage. If you miss again move again etc. Conversely if you move to box b and hit all six plates you are done! I couldn't find anything in the rule book that didn't allow this. Thoughts?
  9. There was talk about that last year and SJC does not recommend using for for 9mm major, it was not made to take that kind of abuse! That Jager setup might be the cheapest intro to open on the market to throw on a glock.
  10. I WAS exactly where you are, I have found that using autocomp with 9mm is no diffrent than loading for my 40, no pressure problems, no issues at all. I have only shot my 9mm in 2 matches one last year and one this year but it dosent have the face slapping blast that some powders do, I am only running a 166 PF @ 7 grains so I would need to buffer for a big match. On my 40 i was shooting autocomp with 135 grain bullets and I liked that load a lot. I am just getting used to the dot now, I was running iron sights on my 40 only because I didnt want to spend the time learning the dot, last weekend I only lost the dot once and it is on the stage I posted here.
  11. I wouldn't use a CCF race frame unless your having a professional build the gun, and there is a guy on here that was shooting one of those SJC slide on compensator's last year and he really liked it, me personally if you buy a compensated barrel and a slide ride dot you will get a feel for open for about the same money. I have 2 SJC open guns a 40 and a 9mm. My 40 open is cool but my 9 is better.
  12. +1 your not gaining anything in my opinion from trying to hit the floor on PF, I used to shoot solo 1000 in a g-17 but now I shoot it in a g35 with 185 grain Molly's with a PF of 140. My opinion is make the gun run (higher Pf) and this will not effect your recoil control, and it will still shoot soft.
  13. Thanks i spent 30 minutes looking for this thread
  14. I looking for something i remember reading quite a while ago but, i could have sworn the category was stage design and I cant seem to find it on this forum, is it hiding on me?

    Glock Problem

i am using the supplied spring for major, it is shooting 1350 fps and there is plenty on bang and cycling. Ejection is good. So I dont think is is the slide not moving enough but I dont really understand the glock cycle enough to figure out why it doesn't cock all of the time.

    Glock Problem

i have a SJC 9mm open glock, which is new to me and although I have owned a lot of glocks my trouble shooting skills are limited. what it is doing is not re cocking. So I shoot a few and when I start to pull the trigger again sometimes there is no resistance as in its not cocked. I pull the slide to the slide to the rear far enough to cock it and pull the trigger and it shoots. My trigger is the lightest trigger I have ever felt on a glock but I need to fix this. What is going on that my gun isn't cocking all of the time?
  19. I shoot an open glock so the only thing that I replace regularly is bullets.... ok maybe some springs once a year to.
  20. why is there such a long wait for these bullets, why not order from someone else?

    MGM beaver tail

How did you do that? use a mold or something?
  22. There is a lot of threads on here about moly bullets, if you search you will find it. But my experence with moley bullets is the powder is the biggest factor in moly troubles and the second is what you use to clean your barrel. My favorite powder with moly is solo 1000, the worst powder I found with molys is tight group.
  23. I found the name, it is a mako slide racker that replaces the back plate. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1198 lone wolf distributers carries them
  24. Do you use that ammo? what powder do they use?
