  1. I'm assuming you mean the portion that I've drawn the red line to in the picture? If I do relieve that back, the outside of the mag release will sit below the outside face of the grip.
  2. Swapped out the plastic grip on my CK open gun with a PT. At first I used the mag catch from my CK limited gun until I could get one for the new grip. I've been through three different ones (two STI and a CK) and they all very barely catch the mag body. The one from my CK open gun holds them solid. The new ones hold tube so little that they don't even move when a mag is inserted. Two questions: where can I find a catch that has a different/bigger ledge, and why the heck is the one off my CK so different? Pictures are on my old phone, sorry.
  3. 10-4, thanks. So rip out the nut, drill the post, and run a sheet metal screw in through the hole where the nut used to be?
  4. I moved this weekend, and was getting everything set back up on my bench. When I set the case feed on the post and tightened the set screw, I may have gotten a little heavy on it. The plastic that the nut is set in started to bulge. Is this a potential long term issue? Is there a good way to fix it/strengthen this area? Thanks
  5. Contacted Double Tap, sent them pictures, and they're sending me another. Good company to deal with.
  6. Unfortunately I'll have to deal with the manufacturer now rather than Shooters Connection because it did take just a little filing to get them in individually.
  7. Two problems. First, I put a PT grip (standard) on my CK open gun. The mag release off my CK limited gun with a metal grip works great in it so I ordered another for this grip. This one is wildly different, and barely clicks in (catch doesn't visibly move at all when seating a mag). I've so tried a Dawson release, same thing. I don't feel good about it and feel like it needs a little more engagement. Silver is the new one Second, bought the double tap thumb safety and started to fit them. Once I got to the point both sides were in and together, I noticed that they were misaligned. Any way to fix this? Pictures show them in together (strong side sits high) and string side only (strong side sits where it should)
  8. 125gr TC Blue Bullets, 9.2 grains of AA#7 (I think?) in 9mm. Good accuracy, I don't think the smoke is an issue.
  9. I have a 170, 155, 3x140. I always load you the 170 or 155, usually start with either unless its a short few shots to the reload in which case I start with a 140

I like the CR speed, but haven't played with anything else. DAA is popular for good reason. Everglades is likely the best. Guga is pretty solid too
  11. Big hands means danger to your thumb (I have big hands and sometimes push my strong hand thumb sticks up). I just run mine on the right right side of the gun (right handed shooter) to not have to worry about it. If you're worried about table starts, stick an empty mag under the gun unless the WSB says otherwise.
  12. Just looking for some experience and advice on this. I drag my thumb horribly and it causes malfunctions occasionally in my open gun. The DT are slightly cheaper than the PT, they both look nice. Or is it better just to go for the thumb shield? Personally I like the look of the thumb shield better, but really just looking for some input on the options. Currently I run a Wilson High Ride, what is the difference (if any) in where these safeties put your thumb?
  13. My dad is looking for a fiber optic rear sight for his shadow 2, but I didn't see this in a quick Google search. Does anyone make one? Thanks.
  14. All I have to say is we shot this today. I just shot at it mainly.
  15. Thanks Craig. More of a pondering than anything. I'm sitting 0.45% off of A. But I realize that its going to take a lot more than making A to win in A. I just want to win, not necessarily go up in class. Going up in class is more of a by product of wanting to win.
  16. My goal is to perform better, period. The point of the post wasn't intended to be " can I get a higher class in a different division". The question of "are certain divisions easier to advance in" was merely a by product of contemplating another division, not a goal. Would I like to be able to say I'm a xyz class shooter, sure. I just want to get better and be competitive though. If that brings an A or M class in the process, great. It's not the end goal, but more of a side effect I guess.
  17. I'm aware of the difference in percentages, my times are usually on the faster side of all the limited shooters, I just tend to sacrifice accuracy for that. I guess the question becomes, is open easier to progress in if you're already decently fast. I agree pcc has that opportunity currently due to using open classifications. I imagine co would be similar.
  18. Driving home from the Tennessee Atomic Blast, and I got to wondering. I currently float around 74% and tend to compete well in Limited B. I'm not fixated on getting to a certain classification, just want to improve and see where that takes me. I've always had the inclination that I would like to be solid in A or possibly M class in whatever division before switching to something else. So, while driving I began to wonder, if I was shooting Open, would I see quicker progress into higher classifications? What about any other division? Is there anything inherent to a particular division that makes progress easier/ faster than others? Just curious really. Thoughts?
  19. I just bought 10k at the NC state match 10 minutes ago at 12% off. ?
  20. Pretty simple, thinking about getting a MBF, but I load 200 gr blue bullets and I'm worried the profile may not work well. Anyone have any experience with 200gr 40 cal bullets and the MBF?
