I use a CR Speed, and the Tek Loks fit without issue.

The new Vortex Sparc AR looks great for the money.

Aero Precision makes a great forged receiver set with an upper w/o forward assist. Hard to beat for the money. Otherwise a complete JP rocks.

This same issue would happen to me about 25% of the time with my Predator Tactical shotgun. I replaced the follower with the OR 3gun follower which sticks out just a bit further. Issue solved.

Perhaps you may like the vortex spitfire 1x. You won't have the issue of the fuzzy red dot, as it has an etched reticle. They are dirt cheap and would be worth trying for your intended purpose.

Shoot double taps and watch where the 2nd round goes. If high them spring is too light.

Ankle carry can be super comfortable when done properly. For a right hand shooter the gun will go on the left leg between 3:30-4:00 position. If you try to position it at 3:00 it can be uncomfortable.

What do you mean by secondary impulse? i must be thinking about this incorrectly. How does a reduced power buffer spring help the bolt return to battery? Intuitively a standard buffer spring would put more pressure on the BCG pushing it into battery. What's going on in the system that I'm missing? Is the lighter buffer causing the BCG to bounce?
