  1. I have to do math?!? I guess I’m buying a bunch of 21 rounders...
  2. Thats my question - not sure if the 17 rounders + 5 -or- the 21 rounders +1 are the better choice if you’re buying more mags. Maybe it doesn’t really matter....
  3. Do they only ship to Canada? I tried to buy one but it only has Canada as the country choice...
  4. Update: The Limcat brass magwell...is AWESOME. Fits great on the Gen 2 grip, adds some much needed weight to the grip, and balances the pistol out a lot. Was missing a screw but they sent one after the fact and I'm pretty happy.
  5. I really like my GMR now that I have it how I like it. I'm suspect that the JP5 will be *that* much better...but I'd have to try one before I got it. So, now we wait until they hit the market...
  6. One would think but in my calls to the major vendors (Dawson, Akai, Cheely, Atlas)....none of them make one for the Gen 2 grip. Limcat said it should fit but aren't sure if Froelich modified his grip. So...I ordered one from Limcat and will report back. I'm surprised I'm the first one to ask...
  7. Hi all - I have a Staccato XC and was curious if anyone has used a larger magwell (Dawson Ice, Cheely large hands, etc) on it? It comes with the tactical advantage magwell but it's pretty small and still lets the frame take all the abuse. I understand (from a chat with Dawson) that the "normal" 2011 magwells won't fit on the Gen 2 grips on the XC...but I don't have one to try (and don't want to pay the 20% restocking fees and shipping to just try it). I came across this from Froelich that implies a standard one will work: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGs1yrfJ2n8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link So, has anyone used/tried a larger magwell on a new Staccato?
  8. Check out Hammer Armament - good stuff, reasonably fast, decent prices
  9. I hope they call it the JPX and it has proprietary mags
  10. Damn - I hoped you had some insider info or I missed something! Maybe it’s a thermal dissipator AND a hand guard weight in one The VMOS in a 9mm bolt didn’t seems like a decent idea....now that I have mine running great.
  11. I saw the video about the AR bolts but didn’t consider it could be applied to the 9mm bolts. Got a link to the press release? The email I got from them didn’t say much...
  12. Anyone know what they are teasing? Not sure there’s a lot more to be done to most of our PCCs that are already tuned. Maybe a roller delayed option? New silent capture option? Just wondering what I HAVE TO HAVE that won’t make me a better shooter
  13. Sorry - missed this one with the holidays. The NHC grip is bigger than the Alpha but the panels on the Alpha make them about the same. The texture on the NHC is very smooth compared to the Alpha and even the E2 Cheely is much more grippy (and is my preference between the three). The Firehawk is less recoil than the Atlas with the same ammo due to the comp. But you can only run an RMR with the IOS on the Firehawk and I have an SRO on the Athena. The trigger on the Athena is lighter and shorter and both have been very reliable (no issues with any ammo to speak of) with a 3-5k rounds through each. So, I want both combined...which is an Atlas Erebus. Looking into an Erebus top end for my Athena now...
  14. I had a chance to try the dynamic trigger in the “meister custom” at my LGS and it is impressive. That and the factory smaller grips made a big difference in feel (despite my XL hands). Combine that and the new lower optic plates and this is a really nice package.
  15. I came across this and the price seems too good: https://masterpiecearms.com/shop/mpa-ds9-hybrid-b-s/ https://masterpiecearms.com/shop/mpa-ds9-hybrid-b-b/ I don't like the co-witness sights but it seems like a great package for $3k when comparing to STIs. Any thoughts or experience with it? I don't think it'll replace my Athena but I may like it for a second (well fourth) 2011 for me...
  16. I'm coming from a Nighthawk Firehawk and Shadowhawk so it took a little getting used to but I've really grown to like the grip aggressiveness and lack of grip safety on the Athena!
  17. These are the full panel on the right (that comes with it) and the half panel on the left. I like them a lot!
  18. Here's a quick video of my current setup with my preferred grip panels: https://photos.app.goo.gl/AWcpHwzBZhdiWYSK9
  19. Thanks for all the feedback but it's just too cold to take off your jacket here when shooting. It is very hard to warm back up between shooting which makes it a very short shooting session (not to mention the drive and setup). I'll try a few things like an external belt/battle belt and see if I can find something close enough to my normal draw to work....or I'll just stick to PCC and rifle work in the winter.
  20. That's the only way I score double alphas!
  21. I have a factory GMR-15 with the short stroke bolt and tuned the JPSC with a few tungsten and various springs....and it was...fine. I tried the blitzkreig/kynshot and the kynshot buffer and a short stroke shim....and I like it a lot more. No one believed me that it was softer and faster for follow up...but it was for them as well. I typically run lighter ammo so they are a bit faster for less drop at distance. But the buffer works great up to 147 stuff as well.
  22. When it's 0-10 with a bit of wind taking your jacket off (even for a few minutes) isn't a good idea. So, no belts over jackets? I was thinking something like a battle belt but it sounds like I'm probably the only one...which means it may be a bad idea
  23. Heh - even some of the indoor ranges aren't heated and you need thicker jackets.
  24. Yup - I’m one of those guys. I shoot a bit of Limited minor but it’s more for 3 gun for me and for that the 9mm 2011s are great. Plus they are just fun to shoot! Low recoil, fast follow up, and it feels a bit like cheating sometimes...
