  1. It is very low, I'm going to try a couple of more places. I use to shoot limited major, the barrel was shot out at 5 to 6k rds, and after about 15k rds, the slide to frame fit is pretty loose. If I get a harness rating around 20 in other places, I'll probably peen the rails to tighten it up.

  2. I would have never thought that a Performance Center pistol would have such a variation in barrel sizes. Everyone I talked with said they were using 9mm, no issues? Well, with a lot of digging for references on revolvers, I couldn't find very much. I did come across one u-tube video of a gentleman explaining on how you should select the proper bullets for a revolver. The cylinder has a chamber and a throat, and when the bullet leaves the cylinder, it goes into the forcing cone and then exits the barrel. I was trying to use 9mm bullets, .356 dia, and not having much luck with accuracy, consistency, and overall dirtiness of the pistol. After I watched the mans video, I'm now using 38/.357 bullets, Blue Bullets, and everything has gotten better. The bullets fit the chamber, are reduced by the throat, and final size is reduced by the forcing cone, This controls gases from escaping passed the bullets as they transition through the pistol. This has greatly increased accuracy, consistency, and dirt. This has also reduced bullets from walking out of the cases from recoil, not completely, but what I can tolerate. Just so you get an idea, my .357 bullets come out the end of my barrel at .354 dia. Hope I didn't add confusion to the story, mic the throats of your pistol and choose bullets accordingly.

  3. Yea, CCI won't work reliably, Federal also needs to be seated properly, I've spent the time working the Winchester brass to uniformly get the depth/dia correct. Everything together has produced a very reliable round. When primers become readily available, I will spend some time with other types of brass to see what else works.

  4. Another ventures into the pond, welcome. The 929 was a whole new experience to me, I shoot USPSA Open, so the majority of my experience is on 1911's. My 929 had a 14# double action pull, I'm use to 2.5#, so the fun began. I don't know about Winchester primers, I'm using Federal, they are soft enough to lite off with a lite trigger pull of my 929. I have managed to get it to approx 5.75# double action, but that has taken some work. I couldn't get there without a TK spur less hammer. I polished all the moving parts inside and have the same springs as you do. I don't know what you are using for ammo, but I use Blue Bullets 38/357 147 gr w/ 3.5 gr of Vectan 9.5, get great results. Also Winchester brass and TK .035 moon clips, I have tries three different thickness moon clips, .035, .037. and .040, all function, but settled on .035 because I am using magnetic holders, you can only get (what I have seen) .040 in stainless, and the .037 have an octagonal hole that doesn't provide much area for the magnets to hold onto. A bummer to get to your next reload point , to find out that some for your moon clips have left the station. Good luck and have fun.

  5. Well, after having this 1911A2 for a few years, I finally put it under a Rock Well hardness tester. I put it away and started shooting open when the open sites became harder to see. So finally had a chance to use a hardness tester, the slide is 32RC, and the frame is 12 RC, which is what I suspected. I had to replace the barrel after approx 4000 rds, and the slide got pretty loose on the frame. So I am going to put this thing in an oven an attempt to harden up to what the slide is, got nothing to lose. While I'm at it, I'm going to try to relieve some of the bulk of the grip?

  6. Don't let the picture of the revolver fool you, I routinely shoot open, it is fun. I got talked into the revolver, just got it shooting right and used it in a couple of club matches. I can see the hook, but don't know if I'll bite, or just nibble.

  7. Well I shoot Limited 10, sooo, I try to get there. I have no problem with the CMC mags in my 45. I've wanted a 40 for a while and finally pulled the trigger, I could use a smaller capacity mag, but that kind if defeats Limited 10. I'll get there, just need to find the right mag and base combo. It is amazing that none of the mag or pistol manufactures have made one, 10mm is pretty popular, more bullets is always better!

  8. No, my limited gun runs anything, for me, it's just these single stacks that need some TLC. You'll be fine. I have two 38SC guns that didn't take near the work to get then to run, double stack tho.

  9. What I have is Tripp 10R-40SW-RG, they started life a 40SW, and had a spacer for the shorter 40. I have removed the spacers, and the crimps to hold the spacers in( there were no 10mm available). I contacted Tripp, and got some new followers and springs, just got my pistol back from the smith, went to try it out today, gun runs great, mags not so much. The top two rounds will go straight into the ramp, after that, they seem to run fine. I tried the fixes that I used on my 45ACP, no luck, increased the angle of the follower and opened up he feed lips towards the front of the mag to try and get the top rounds to stand up more, to no avail. My rounds are 1.78 to 1.84" long, work well in my limited pistol. Hollow point and flat round nose. I have tried CMC 45 ACP mags with spotty success, haven't tried forming them tho, are for the 45. I will give them another try?
