  1. Anyone have any input for Titegroup while using a cast bullet? IE Acme or Bayou with the Hi-Tek coating? From what I understand, with a cast bullet, you should dial back the load 10%. Does that sound right? I've read a bunch on jacketed but nothing much on cast. I know at one point, I read the TG powder can burn really hot and melt the bullet causing leading in the barrel. Those were older posts so does that still hold true for cast bullets with the HI-TEK coating? Just looking for any and all input I could get for this combo. Thanks.
  2. meh. I think its overstated how glorious n320 is, but whatever. When I close my eyes and shoot a 9mm n320 load and 9mm titegroup load into the berm, they feel the same, but TG is louder(to me) and I think that is where the "softer" comes from. Nothing is "softer" than clays with heavy bullets, but thats just me... Sort of why I asked, although I have very little experience with N320 and nothing with Titegroup, yet... meh. I don't doubt they will feel the same, but shooting into a berm won't reflect how clean, consistent (low standard deviation) and low flash/heat/smoky VV N320 is compared to Titegroup. If those things aren't important to you, many powders are comparable to N320. I was able to find 8 lbs or Titegroup over the weekend and looking forward to trying it out.
  3. They sent an email out about that not too long ago. I haven't used it but it seems pretty straight forward and convenient. I'd just take it to a local shop, though. Appears to be a $39 "Label Cost" on top of shipping, according to shipping details page. Edit: Maybe it's $39 flat? I didn't go any further because I didn't make an account.
  4. From what I read, N320 is the perfect powder! I don't shoot competition and I'm still new so I want to try some other things. If I find N320, I'll grab some but where I'm at, I'm ready to try some of the other popular powders.
  5. I wouldn't call it conviction but I really have an OCD thing about playing with peoples money. For example, I don't like when, on the rare occasion, says someone grabs me food at work and buy it with their own money without coming to be first to get cash. I know it sounds completely wack but it's true. If it's a friend/family, I'll take your money all day, tho Grumpy, I do that all the time. Even for the simple fact of "just in case." And I NEVER spend a dime of said money until the buyer is content. Maybe I'm way to cautious & it's stressful but I'll be damned if I'm doing anybody wrong.
  6. Unless your the Hulk, you won't hurt anything. Tighten the hell outta. My problem was I'd get the handle where I needed it, tighten it, then use both hands to crank on it and then the handle would spin just enough to throw it out of line. If you can, get it where you need it, tighten it the best you can, then have someone hold it and crank on it some more. And a socket makes it a lot easier too, if you have one.
  7. Wow, out of all the years I've been on here and been through hundreds of transactions, I've only had that happen once, maybe twice. They said they wanted it and then never contacted me back so it's not exactly the same but close. For the most part, I've had better luck here than with other sites that I buy stuff from. The shooting community is pretty tight group with high standards and integrity in general. If you have someone in line and waiting, it's best to give the first potential buyer a timeline to work off of so expectations are known. In fact, most of the guys on here that I've dealt with before, I will ship stuff as their payment is on the way, even if they tell me they will pay when they get home. Several of the at-work networks block a lot of sites including payment sites sometimes so I understand that. As a buyer, however, I always try to get my payment in ASAP to show the seller I'm serious and build that trust. I agree with what all you said. I can easily think of 3-4 times off the top of my head this has happened to me. "I'll take it, money will be sent later." Then l get the item all packed and ready to go and try to get to the PO before they close so I'll message them and ask if they are going to pay, then nothing. Here doesn't really seem like a place to scam or screw around, though. The items I had this issue with were valued anywhere between $200-$600 (as silly as this may sound, it was Jordan shoes and Oakley Glasses - yes I know, but it was a childhood hobby that died hard )but, it's almost too easy to spot people that are "interested" versus someone who is truly interested. But I always try and be fair and give people the benefit of the doubt. I agree, I hope all sellers will hold themselves to the same standards of integrity you seem to have. Communication is a skill many people overlook these days with how easy it is. Communication is key to me. Especially when dealing in large sums of money; but to me, any amount of money is a lot, or I treat it that way. For example, I CANNOT stand having someones money/payment and still having their item. Like if someone pays after the PO closes, it drives me crazy. Or getting a payment late Saturday and not being able to ship till Monday is worse. I've seriously been told in the past "you don't have to message me your every step, it's cool." I don't like fcuking with people's money to be blunt.
  8. I have a "lead" on some Titegroup from a local guy so once he get's it in, I'm going to pick some up. From what I've read, that's one of the closest to N320.
  9. Not a true blind test, but I did load up a few mags and ran them through. One mag had the rounds alternating but I knew which ones where N320 so like I said, not a true scientific blind test. The N320 was consistently softer and cleaner. The impulse was different so I think that is what made it feel better. I think I took a video of that, I'll see if I can find it. Also, my buddy and I did something similar with N320 and TG, same results. Thanks. I understand the love for N320, just curious if on a blind test, one could EASILY determine which was which. not blind, but back to back. I don't really care enough to do a blind test. If I can't a major difference when I'm not blind, then I guess I'll be happy with either one. I'm not that picky. This is basically why I asked. I see a lot of posts/people that live my N320, but I feel like there are just as good or comparative powders out there. Thanks.
  10. While I'm new here as well, I'm gonna +1 here what Sarge said. I'm new here but have sold and bought many things on other sites with this same mentality where I have been part of for 10+ years. Usually before I list something, if I know another member that may be interested, I'd PM them first and give them first crack. Anyway, being new has it drawbacks but everyone starts somewhere. If I don't get something I wanted for whatever reason, it's super easy for me to think it was for a reason and I'm content moving on. I've also "sold" things to members who says "I'll pay later when I get home from work". Pisses me off cause then "later" comes and they ignore me while I have someone else saying they are PP ready or whatever. Don't take it personal, especially when dealing with the amount of money items are here.
  11. Has anyone done a blind test of N320 vs any other powder that you all are comparing this too?
  12. I've been using a Lyman 2200 Auto-Flo Tumbler and love it. Pretty quiet and get get quite a bit brass done in one go.
  13. I have the Redding Seating and Crimp die for my 9 set up and love it. While I'm still pretty new, it helps. I recently purchased the Dillon conversion kit/dies for .40 which should be here this week, but I went ahead and ordered the Redding seating die (only) for the .40 set up. I may end up getting the crimp die as well, but for now, just the seating die.
  14. Says they have a HiTeck coating, My bad then.
  15. I just ordered a bunch of bullets from Acmebullet.com and they shipped quick. I haven't used them yet but good deal and quick shipping. Looks like a nice bullet.
  16. I'll check, thank you. No idea why I'm so stuck on finding the elusive #2 pin.
  17. Yes the #2 pin diameter is .321-.322 the #3 pin is .382-.383 So I'm assuming the smaller pins comes with like the 40 conversion kit then? That's next on my list, that and the dies. Although I need to hunt down moar powder!
  18. I have the 650 only mount which raises it 6.5". The 550/650 raises it 8.5" so you may be able to move it back a bit more, not I'm not sure what the point would be. Is there a particular reason you're trying to get the press further back?
  19. RDA, you're right. So there actually is a #2 pin, I just don't have them. I got it, thanks gentlemen.
  20. Basically as far back as the width of a 2x4. So really, about an inch and a half. I have about the same amount of gap as the pictures Alecmc posted and my bolts are very close to the 2x4 I used for my frame. I had to use a smaller washer than what came with the strong mount on the bottom. Edit: So actually I'm probably back about an inch and a quarter maybe, tops.
  21. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. When Trubor said he had to use a #2 pin, is he saying a #2 is stamped on top the pin or in the 2nd station? Mine looks like the picture you posted; I have 3 pins, all say 3 on top of them. So you have your o-ring on a #3 pin at station 3? (I know that's right, more so thinking out loud). I know I can grind the pin down enough to get the o-ring right, now I'm actually just more concerned about where the #2 pins are coming from or if he meant station 2.
  22. Truborshooter/400, thank you both. What #2 locator pins are you talking about? Mine has 3 #3 which is what came with it, did you guys order #2s or did they come with the press and I overlooked them? Or do they come with the larger caliber conversion kits? I'm still pretty new to reloading & essentially this is the only modification I want to make until I get more comfortable.
  23. Thanks for putting up that o-ring number. I'm gonna snag a set from the Depot.
