  1. +1 on everything JFD said. Windage bolt backing out, Para sent replacement free, blue Locktite held it until the replacement arrived. I could not get the locktite OFF with cleaning solvent, so it seems to hold up pretty well. Mine was on a P16-.40
  2. A note about his technique rather than the comments: It looks like the only way he could be faster is for gravity to do it's job better. The limiting factor seems to be that the magazine being ejected is taking too long to get out of the way. Maybe he could get some kind of spring driven mag ejector. Edit: Holy cow! I just actually read the comments! What a bunch of dumba$$es!
  3. Winners will capitalize on people's mistakes. I can't wait for that fight though. I usually root for GSP, but I just think Matt will take him...again.
  4. Hughes has been there, done that, got a shirt. He will do it again.
  5. I've got money at the 2005 Florida State Match (HOA Limited 10), and 2005 Area 6 (3rd "C" Limited), but these are the only money matches I've shot (I'm waiting for a check from 2006 Area 6 (High "C" Limited), but haven't seen it yet). [Thread drift on] Has anyone who won at this year's Area 6 gotten a check yet? [Thread drift off]
  6. I guess to do that for a living, you've got to have a certain degree of cockiness.
  7. To fight Royce on ground was supposed to be fighting Royce's game. This is where he was supposed to dominate Matt. If Matt had kept it standing, the skeptics would then be saying, "Oh yeah? Well Matt wouldn't have beat him on the ground." Matt beat Royce at his own game.
  8. Nobody wants to see their idols fall. GSP will be tough. That one will be interesting. Their 1st matchup ended kind of flukish. GSP will be watching for the armbars this time.
  9. Deigo Sanchez kind of showed that he can't count on just taking people down and pounding them. He couldn't get that guy down and, the few times he did, he could not keep him down. That 2 1/2 minute piggy-back ride at the end of the match was the weirdest thing I'd even seen.
  10. Holy cow! I thought it would be closer than that. Hughes made him look like an amature.
  11. You became a Hughes fan watching that show?? I thought he came off looking like a jerk. How many times did he say, "I can't lose this fight. Either my team wins, or I get rid of a guy I didn't like anyway." Where is the team spirit? I like Hughes as a fighter, and he seems like a polite guy in interviews, but the show--and it could have been editing (though I don't know why they'd intentional making him look jerkish)--made him look like a cad.
  12. That is bizzarre that GSP made more in that event than the title-defending, main-event, fighter! And David Louiseau??? I would seroiusly rethink stepping back in the octagon for THAT money after the beating he toted. Royce does not LOOK strong. I know this does not always matter, but Matt looks like he is gonna deal some pain.
  13. He does seem to have a tendancy to hold a submission until the ref pries him off.
  14. I don't watch too much Pride, but I've got a buddy who does, and he says that the current UFC fighters would get killed in Pride. He said Chuck Liddell couldn't hack it over there. How can that be? I like the UFC because you cannot get a stoppage by getting on the ropes. I don't like it when they stop them and move the back to the center "in the same position." There's just no way to get the exactly the same way. The cage eliminates that problem.
  15. And the statement itself does not take into account that the three or four fighters he fought each night had also each fought three or four fighters to get to the point where they were facing him. It is not like he was fighting fresh guys each time.
  16. D'oh! Should have done a search! I just checked the other UFC threads to see if anyone updated them. (Edit: Oh, I just checked the times, and this is just a case of great minds thinking alike!) Things were a lot different when Gracie was in his prime. Hair pulling, head butting...all that was legal then. Bruce hit the nail on the head, too. Gracie would take people down and just hang on to wear them out. Now, they will stop it if it gets boring and stand them back up--back into Matt's world. I just afraid of both guys trying to play it too safe--instead of fighting to win, they fight not to lose. I like Hughes in this fight. I want to see him do one of trademark slams, but I don't know if he can pull it off with Gracie.
  17. The UFC pay per view is tomorrow night! The current champion, Matt Hughes, vs the legend, Royce Gracie. Royce says he invented the UFC. "I built this house," he says. Matt says Royce can't hang with the current crop of fighters because they all are truly "mixed martial artists," not all devoted to one style like in Royce's day. Royce asks when was the last time Matt had to fight four guys in one night with no time limits. What's everyone's take on this? Plus fights with The Ultimate Fighter 1 alumni, Deigo Sanchez and Mike Swick. Complete fight card
  18. If I haven't seen it, it's new to me.
  19. Someone has their mind on something other than work. I got promoted to B class Limited after winning my class at Area 6. I jusy got my new card in the mail--a B Class card--and with it was a certificate congratulating me and announcing I was being promoted to C Class Limited!
  20. I like them. I had no problem keeping them on. It makes it a lot easier to wear ears while wearing a helmet.
  21. Not just other shooting forums. I'm on a martial arts forum that is quite obviously comprised of a high percentage of young teenagers (or at least people who act like them). They are quick to blast any idea that they disagree with, and will not hesitate to resort to name calling. I guess I've been spoiled by the professionalism I see here.
  22. Most of us are shooting just for fun. Welcome aboard.
  23. Think this way, and calculate accordingly. You'll be fine.
