They were doing maintenance on some big machines in March, as well as running the US steel nationals. Mike is back and making barrels. Leave a message and when his backlog is cleared up he will be able to get you set up. He has a large volume, just like all the other firearms related companies right now as well.....

Try a Lee sizing die. It has less taper on the bottom and will size the whole case. Use case lube. If you use a SDB take it and the die that came with it and have the shop make the Lee fit the toolhead.

I truly wonder how many shipping containers are sitting full at a dock, with paperwork snafus keeping them from being emptied.........

There are better powders to use that will give you a soft impulse, but mostly CLAYS in 9mm is very inaccurate compared to powders like W231, Titegroup, Solo 1000, VV 320......

If you are mechanical and can change your oil then the 1050. If not, then stay with the 650. You have to adjust the primer slide arm, and if you can't learn to tweak it for best results then you won't be happy.

Nope, I am not that smart, but the bank is paid off....... I sold off a bunch of stuff, but had some stuff left and am still loading.......but when I want to.....LOL.
You couldn't give me anything from Camdex. The folks on the phone are nice people, but when they can't service what they sell within a calendar year, they can bite me.
Ammoload is making money now. They went up about 6 grand from shot show to a week after. When used equipment comes available I will buy Ammoloads.
Court, I hope that you have about 5,000 pounds of powder sitting around. If not I wouldn't spend any money on new equipment and wait for all the commercial loaders that may ( I hope and pray not....) go out of business this year with no powder available.......

Make sure the primer punch insert ( part that goes into the machine and is either a small or large orfice) is screwed all the way down, giving the primer slide a smooth surface. Mine worked itself loose, going up, and making a little ledge. I was having intermittent problems with the primer punch hitting the slide. Once I took it apart I found it. That has not happened to me before in over 15 years of using a 1050.....
Good luck!

There was a fire at the ADI plant over a year and half ago in Australia, confirmed to me by my Aussie friends. This provides CLAYS and a lot of other powder to Hogdon. Over the last couple months there was a fire at a powder plant in Beligum as well, shutting it down for 90 days +. I was told it was possibly loading NATO ammo, and St. Marks, our only domestic powder manufacturer, was tasked with providing powder until it is back up ( no way to confirm this). St. Marks relies on England for nitrocellulose, and there was delays on getting it for powder manufacturer.
When Graf's straight truck drives up to Hodgon's warehouse and there is no powder, there is a problem. The likely scenario is that the powder is on the ships, but there is now more paperwork or a delay in unloading the containers like mentioned above. If that was the case, I would keep it quiet and get what I could off the ships when I could.
Regardless of reason, there is no powder to be bought unless you are lucky to have friends importing european powder. I have a hard time believing that our powder supply was that fragile, but there is a shortage now.......

Jerry is using everything he put away before his hiatus. He was shooting one of his old singlestack 1911 38 supers. Watching him practice on Showdown.....he has lost nothing....

Try cleaning the chamber really well. If it persists then try a volquartsen firing pin. If the gun is set up correctly then you shouldnt have all the misfires with wolf.

It's a ringer. The case most likely got wet and the priming compound welded it to the case. You punched out the end. Sometimes you will feel it with the swage but most times you won't. Just part of the ball game if you don't have your cases processed on a machine.
Replace your blue tip on the primer tube and get back to loading.....

You can leave in the large swage rod and adjust it up so you will feel the small primer brass on the down stroke as well....

This is the worst time in the recent past to get into commercial reloading. It has deteriorated in the last several months.....
This powder shortage is going to put a lot of the small guys out of business in the next 3-6 months. I am fortunate that I downsized my operation and am now able to do it part time with no overhead.....
I hate to admit it but if the OP doesn't know a lot of the above mentioned information then you might rethink the business aspect of it and not borrow a lot of money......Talk to some of the bigger companies. They will share their knowledge and try to help, but now is not a good time to start out.....
Go slow and good luck!

you need to use a pedometer or something on the shooter to catch the movement. The new DAA shotmaxx timer watch does that to catch the shots from airsoft too.....

yes, depending on how old it is...

It works great in low charge weight 38 special loads, especially heavier bullets. Use CLAYS load data and chrono from there....good stuff!

The reason KKM sets their barrels up for 115 grain bullets is due to the accuracy potential of the 115jhp. 115JHP at 1150-1180 gives best accuracy at 50 yards. Schuemann and KKM started out together, and the 1x32 and now 1x24 twist rate gives best accuracy for those that want to reload or buy custom ammo for their guns.

In My Bianchi loads, the MG and XTPs shoot the same out to 35 yards. The same load that does 1.5 in at 50 yards does 3-4 yards at 50. The MG bullets are a good value for the money, but at farther distance the HAPS are much better made....

At the original range in Piru, where the match was originated.........the plates are angled towards the shooter. On Five to go the stop plate is at an angle so when you shoot at it it is flat to you. The right angle goes into the bern for any splatter. You should shoot directly on to steel targets for best results, but if you have good steel it won't be that big of a deal....

Does DIllon still have the machinist prints on the parts, Will they let you borrow them to have a machine shop make you some? Might not hurt to ask.....

That is awesome Trace........I would just cry If I had to use it at work and then it would end up in evidence and have to go back to my Stock SIg......I have a couple heirloom special 1911s I won and carried them off duty for awhile, but I put them in the safe and carry a polymer gun now that I can replace for $400 if I need to....

Yes. Shooting and picking up hits at warpspeed shooting SC will help....

Yeah, what Nik said....Pillow keeps you from having more discomfort getting up walking around etc for the first 3 weeks. The strap you will wear daily all the time to keep yourself together. Wear it. Listen to the Doc and if you have pain take the pain meds initially. Pain will keep you from healing quicker.

I had mesh placed on Dec 17th. I am now back at work light duty and am up to 30 lbs weight restriction. You just have to go slow and not do anything stupid like not wearing your strap all the time, using your pillow in the beginning, and taking your pain meds and your laxatives....very important. Get it done during the winter when there is no shooting going on....

Court, check your primer punch spring. Then the rocker arm on the side to see if it is loose. Then just adjust the bolt in the toolhead and your should be ready to go.
