  1. By the sheer damage to the case I would at the very least bullet set back. I load 4.3gr at 1.220-230 for JHP/FMJ of 310 with no problems at all. If you load on a 550 then I would definitely say double charge, and check pull the rest of the rounds as you have a squib in there too......

Good luck, it is not the load data.....

  2. Sean,

I would first hit all the chambers with a finish reamer so they are all the same.....we all remember the 625 fiasco.....Then make sure you don't bell the case anymore than you need to loading, and finally crimp the case more than you would in an auto. You have different things going on in a Revo than you do an auto. As long as your forcing cone is good an concentric you should be fine. Rob Leatham told me that he got better accuracy in his 625 loads using a roll crimp. I have not had time to try it, but I know in short colt if you don't use a heavy crimp you will have bullets pulling, regardless of the size of the bullet. It is something to try anyway....Let me know if any of it helps.....

  3. Another fine match put together by the Ankey Ikes crew, despite the monsoon like conditions in the morning. It was nice to hear the absence of bitching and moaning about the range. The Revo shooters are a tough bunch, and and just sucked it up and shot the match, regardless of the muck. Mike kept us entertained and the social hour with the awards was the crowning touch to the end of the day.

A big thanks to the sponsors that donated to the match, and I can't wait for the next match!

  4. I did that. Cut the cylinder back to 38 super length. Put a .355 barrel on it. Taylor throated it. It shoots 2in at 50 yds with my 150JRN .356 bullets. Everyone said it wouldn't shoot. Whatever. If you want to do it go for it. If I had to do it again I would just put a Ti cylinder on it with a new barrel and call it good.

Pictures should still be up on this forum from when I posted it. Search starter pistol on steroids......

    Have fun!

  5. Hi Pat. There is two formulations of this powder. The older lot is larger flakes, and the newest has smaller flakes. You can use Universal Clays load data and you will be within around .02 grains, depending on load. Reduce like normal and work up to what you need, for safety's sake. It works just fine....

  6. Dan, this is not directed at you or any of the other posters on this thread, but around here the reason people don't sight in at 35 yds is because they cannot shoot groups at that distance to check their zero and dial it in.....

  7. Steel Challenge is an accuracy game. The reason most tell you to sight in at 35 yds is because that is the longest shot you will have to take. By sighting in on that it ensures when you take a marginal shot at the long target you will have a good chance to get a hit at speed.

You can do what you want, but if you don't know where the dot is at 35 yds and wing shots at the stop plate on speed option you may not be happy.....

  8. And that, folks, is the same speech he gave at the Banquet. Humble, unassuming, genuine, and thanked everyone in the room. In this day and age, it is so wonderful to see someone who has put in the effort, time, and blood/sweat/tears earn something like this and still be the humble nice guy that he is....

I am proud to call him a friend...

  9. The above post is 100% accurate and correctly portrays what happened. The contempt shown to the shooters by the upper match staff was truly mind boggling. The match advertised cash payouts similar to the cup. No money was paid out.......

I am truly embarrassed for our sport and hope the International Shooters would consider coming back over for a match other than the cup.

  10. Lee made the FCD to help his customers who complained about reliability using his lead bullets in semi auto chambers. By using the FCD with his bullets that people casted they could skip the sizing part after casting them, use the alox lube, and using the FCD load the bullets and they would run in their guns. There are going to be some combinations that won't work, but for making oversized bullets fit into the chambers it does what it is supposed to do. Nothing more, nothing less....

  11. The issue with Titegroup is the high nitrocelluose content. It burns really hot when you get a high volume charge in the case. I load Lead 122 lfp with 3.6 TG in 9mm for practice loads for bianchi cup. My caster just went to the same Bayou coating and it is quite a bit difference. If you can use a little faster powder, like WST, it will give less smoke.

  12. FYI I spoke to Nate this morning at Rockcastle.

He hopes to have 2 plate racks, one barricade stage, one practical stage, and one two cable mover available for practice on Monday.

That is exactly what he told me, verbatim.

I had questions, so I called to find out.

You can also ship your ammo to:

WAPC, 585 Park Mammoth Road, Park City, Ky 42160. Put your name and WAPC on it and you can pick it up at the Resort when you get there.

    See ya there!

PS. I will have a limited amount of 38 Super, 9mm, and 38 special match ammo there. First come first serve unless you have it reserved. Thanks!
