All in all I am very happy with the performance of the sps mags and the +23 is nice.
-
Got the mags back today he had to do a little grinding around the top just slightly and clean up the mag realease a little and they seem to work will get a chance to try them out tomorrow.
-
I have a 51679 and ordered the sps 140 mags seem to slide in ok but do not drop free. going to see if my gun smith can work a little magic on them.

Has anyone tried the new base pads from springer with the 51679? http://shop.springerprecision.com/product.sc;jsessionid=E6E5D2165855A7469FC5AD130E6D3BB2.m1plqscsfapp01?productId=377&categoryId=55

RIA 9mm double stack hi cap mag options?
RadarLuv replied to Averageshooter91's topic in 1911-style Pistols
The sps website has base pads that say +2 for 9mm and a spring and follower combo for +1. Has anyone confirmed if its a total of +3 which should take their 140mm 23 round mag to 26? -
+1 for Dawn

newb question can you replace the main spring housing on a 51679 with a standard 1911 part? +1 on how the SVI trigger worked out.

I agree the front sight might be a little dull. Is this the Grams follower to use? https://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?id=FKS-11-&n=Grams-Follower-Kit--STI-SV/SPS-126/140mm

So changing out the front sight is a good idea and the rear sight has been ok for everyone?
-
I have to start looking for mags soon. Also an almost 40 (39) year old competition beginner. I am curious what made you want to change the front sight so soon? I get mine Wednesday so haven't got to look at it yet.

Drank the kool aid and ordered the 51679 today, switching from an M&P. It should be here for the weekend range trip.
-
Good news about MOA I sent mine in to be worked over before Christmas eagerly awaiting its return.

What are all the differences between the standard moa package and the p3k package?
-
Rifle looks good nice grouping. I just got confirmation mine will be here Monday, which puts it right at a month from order date. Faster than expected hope they didn't cut any corners to speed it up. It might have to sit a bit till optic comes in which has not been ordered yet thinking I still had a month to wait. I like the scope mount on birddog's rifle wonder if it comes in blue.

My build is very similar to yours the few differences being: Blue dissapator Armageddon trigger ace stock 17.25 hand guard The 8 weeks will give me time to choose a 1x4 or 1x6 optic.

I am looking at a very similar build but thinking about the 17.25" hand guard does anyone think that would make the rifle front heavy or not balance well versus the 15?
