Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Absolutely. My all black S2 the slide is nitrided, and the lower is polycoated. Both black but different surface finishes visually. The polycoat has more of a satin sheen.
  2. Why I ruled out a grey S2 and purchased a black S2. As the polycoat wears on the gray S2, the black nitride finish will become apparent. I've seen pics on line indicating this, chips around the slide stop pin and holster wear. The gray finish just doesn't appeal to me either. The black S2 is gorgeous. CZ quality is up there, unmatched imo in a production pistol from anywhere.
  3. Be wary of that seller. If you read their detailed ratings, they have some really shaky comments/past deals. Just be aware.
  4. Mine too. I was trying to justify it.....
  5. Well somebody jumped on it already!! GONE in 18 minutes
  6. New and available right now at grabagun for $2815 shipped. Only one available. Link to Czechmate @ grabagun: https://grabagun.com/cz-usa-cz75-ts-czechmate-9mm-luger-5-40-barrel-20-rounds.html
  7. From a post on The Original CZ Forum dated 4/08/2003 (states 1:10 twist, 6 groove rifling): In terms of barrel design, there are two important reasons why CZ pistols have a reputation for outstanding accuracy. First, CZ pistols have six, rather than four, rifling grooves. Although six grooves have now become more or less standard, four grooves were the norm for many decades. Smokeless powder had been around for nearly fifty years before designs with six rifling grooves were adopted in significant numbers. Ceska Zbrojovka appears to have been ahead of the technology curve by at least a decade or so. (For example, the Mk. I Hi-Powers have four rifling grooves.) All CZ pistol designs, including the vz/22 and vz/24, have had six rifling grooves. Second, CZ 75/85 series pistols have a faster rate of twist than many other 9mm designs at @1:10 (as opposed to 1:12-1:14). This makes them better suited to 124gr and heavier bullets than most other 9mm pistols. This has been an important factor in their success, since most nations began switching over to 124gr bullets about twenty years ago. Commercial loads heavier than 124gr began to appear on the market at about the same time that CZ pistols became readily available in the West. Although 147gr loads are not as accurate in a 9mm CZ as bullets in the 115-135gr range, the CZs handle them much better than some of their competitors. Link to post: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=14715.0 Found a couple on line references which state 1:9.7 twist also. Wikipedia being one of them.

    SP01 for CO

I have the Burris FF3 on my Canik TP9SFX and its great. I got the 8 MOA and no regrets. It makes fast accurate shooting easy. Also put one on my 12 gauge pump shotgun. 8MOA equates to a 2" dot coverage @ 25 yards, many guys purchase the 2 or 3 MOA, way way too small for pistol shooting. The FF3 can be had on ebay for $186 delivered, where I purchased mine. The FF3 has great reviews everywhere and a top battery cover, meaning you don't have to remove the unit to replace battery. This is the place where i ordered my two FF3s. Fast delivery, solid seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Burris-300236-Fastfire-III-with-Picatinny-Mount-8-MOA-Sight-Black/231756839128?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  9. Look at my results above and i didn't polish a single part, nada. The CGW reduced trigger return spring had to be worth half a pound at least. That CZ spring is stout. I might have $50 in parts and 30 minutes of my time in it right now. Still have approx 1mm of creep with the stock hammer, but some time down the road I'm gonna do a race hammer and a fitted disco. I can live with the creep and a 2.125 lb SA pull for now.
  10. Just added to my 2 week old S2: CGW extended FP and spring, 11.5# hammer spring, CGW floating trigger pin and reduced power trigger return spring. Didn't polish anything. Before work (wheeler digital trigger gauge) SA = 3# 0 oz average, three pulls. DA = 8# 10 oz average. After CGW parts install: SA = 2# 2 oz average. DA = 5# 13 oz average. Mission accomplished, reduced DA pull to manageable. Feels great now, very pleased. I will add my S2 had approx 300 rounds thru it prior to parts add. And a lot of dry fire on a snap cap. The stock mechanism was getting smoother every day before the CGW parts, and was much better than day one, fresh out the box, as expected.
  11. Much less creep. While i was searching recently, I found a post somewhere of hammer hook measurements. I too purchased a S2 a couple weeks ago. Stock S2 = .028" CGW race hammer = .016"
  12. Fair enough George. Your comment/thinking is def sound and i agree with it. I'm sure you have way more "hands on"/competition shooting experience than I. Thanks for sharing it.
  13. The guy I quoted works at Cajun Gun Works, he has more knowledge on CZs than you will ever possess in ur entire lifetime. Ditto Tanfoglios. That's the simple fact. You didn't even know what thread you were posting in to begin with with your 10# RS in ur Tanfo. Now that's some funny chit right there Good luck space froggy. I'm done wasting my time with frogs.
  14. 15. George, wasn't addressing you. We've had this discussion already, like two days ago. Remember? Frog, you got a link to data or article that a CZ S2 stock is 16# recoil spring? Prove it to me please. And read the thread title at the top......
