  1. Don't think it is strange at all. If I can only do one load for both, it would make my life easier. BTW it runs the 3.4gr load with the factory gas port in my Gen 2. Bullet OAL is 1.1 and it cycles just fine.
  2. Same here. I got one of the early ones (38 Sup) and it has ran pretty good since day one. I started with 38 Sup and factory mags with its base pads. Other than minor tuning of the magazine, it ran good. Changed the extractor to an Aftec (just because I had it) Dawson/Grams mag guts and 8# recoil spring, it runs everything from 38 Super, 38 SC and 9mm. To me it seems more like the 9mm ones have more issues than the 38 Sup one.
  3. Yes. I still running the SSA-E. The one I put from Bullmoose runs fine if you run it fast. If you tried to reset the trigger slow, the hammer wasn't catching the disconnector and releasing the hammer.
  4. I believe it will if it had a short dust cover. I think it says that in their FAQ section.
  5. That would be nice but the timer would have to be strapped to muzzle. It has a hard time picking up the shots as is. But yes it would be kick ass
  6. It is what my son shoots out of his production gun. I was just curious. It does cycle same bullet and powder at 3.4. My current loads is 4.8 WAC pushing 124s.
  7. They only ammo that doesn't run in my MPX is 3.2grs of TG pushing 147 pills. Everything that I have gotten off the shelf has ran and I mean everything. About 2000 rounds of random brands and bullet weights. My favorite off the shelf ammo is BBM 115gr.
  8. $600 isn't bad at all if it is a complete upper.
  9. Macon Armory make 45 uppers in blow back and DI system. https://maconarmory.com/
  10. So after shaving the grips down and observing her grip, found out that she was gripping the gun wrong. She had her whole hand twisted with the center of her palm almost on the back of the gun. So a bit of adjustment and help of shaved grips, she has no issues. Now I have to get a lighter hammer spring so she doesn't have a hard time pulling the trigger in DA. Just going to order some aluminum grips. What color is the question?
  11. This is what Sig said about the new plug. "Rick,The original self-regulating valve works well. It was made specifically with a bigger gas port to function with a very wide variety of ammos(lower quality to high end). The new plug does require SAAMI spec/NATO spec quality ammo. Undercharged or cheaper ammo may have some cycling issues. The plug is passive where the SRV was a little more complex and would dump excess gas, improving durability of the firearm while still allowing it to cycle lower ammo. The plug does not dump gas but runs slightly slower which provides longevity on the parts like the valve did but requires better ammo. The good news is they are interchangeable and the plug should be available for order soon if you want to go that route." I would figure the new plug would be work backwards. I guess the MPX coming with the plug have a smaller gas port.
  12. I have a pretty contact there. He has been helpful when my valve fell apart and when I needed a new hammer ( lost original).
  13. Haha I already sent them an email.
  14. Don't know how many of you know this but apparently Sig went away with the bleeder valve (gas valve) and went to a solid plug. Wonder what benefits it has over the original one. Tempted to order one or modify my extra one to see if I can mess with softer loads.
  15. I have the same problem. When I started doing matches with my AR, I had an Eotech and I really liked how easy it was to look through it because of the larger viewing window. The draw back was the weight (512 model) specially with the added magnifier. My shooting buddy convinced me to ditch it in favor of a good 1-4 Scope (Trijicon) which isn't bad but I still think it was easier and faster with the Eotech. In my PCC I run a Vortex Sparc AR and it is okay but I'm considering switching to a newer Eotech (XPS2) which is lighter than the older model I had. I feel I didn't have to worry so much with cheek well position with the Eotech than the tube style red dots or scope. If you can find one to borrow and try it, I would suggest it. I have astigmatism and the reticle is a bit fuzzy but still good enough for me to pick up.
  16. I have the wooden ones but they are shaved down pretty thin. Im going to take her on Friday to the LGS and let her see what she can hold then go from there. Knowing my little girl and her love for 1911s, I see where this might be going.
  17. You supposed to oil and clean prior? Shoot, I take it out of the box, make sure there isn't crap in the barrel and shoot the snot out of it....then I clean it.
  18. Damn it now you got me thinking about a 1911 in 9mm. Rock Island makes a 1911 in 9mm/TCM. Always been interested on the TCM.
  19. I really don't want to go out right now and spend $1k+ on another gun and rig. My oldest son usually shoots the S3 and I have been doing PCC so that leaves the open 2011. I have 2 triggers for the 2011. She can reach the short one. So once she gets the movement and all the safety down, then I will let her try PCC (she is pretty good with a rifle) or the 2011. Once she finds what she wants to shoot and if she wants to do this regularly then I look into helping her getting her stuff (HS graduation gift ? in June?). Thinking a Canik which I found to have a very small grip.
  20. Thought about that but I'm hoping that the Hennings short flat trigger would give her a better reach.
  21. That's what I'm looking at doing. Just wanted to make sure I didn't needed anything else.
  22. So my daughter shot her first match yesterday with borrowed equipment. She used a Glock 19 but she could barely reach the trigger. I have a Stock 3 that she can't reach the trigger in DA form but can manage in SA form (after I switched the grips). From my understanding, if I remove the disco the gun will function in SA only, correct? Want to convert it to SA and put a short reach flat trigger. Is it reversible? I know she will have to be in limited minor but that's no a problem for me till she gets the hang of it and becomes more proficient. Funny thing is is that she can shoot my open 2011 gun no problems but not going to spend $2k on an 2011 just yet.
  23. Not fancy but I like the way it works.
  24. My current load for my MPX carbine is 4.8gr of Autocomp pushing 124gr pills. The only load I found to be softer was with 4gr Titegroup pushing the same bullets. I'm just doing Autocomp right now to use up the reminder one pounder. This is after 2k rounds of trials with different bullet weights and powder combinations. I found that my MPX likes 124 and it is the softest shooting from all other type of bullets. This is my opinion and someone educate me if I'm wrong. We know 9mm doesn't have a lot of recoil so muzzle rise is mostly from the bolt movement. So the way I see it is to get the bolt back in battery as soon as possible so it would cancel out muzzle rise. So I don't focus on making the softest loads just what gives me the less dot bounce. If that requires me to make 170pf ammo, be it.
  25. Figure I would put my $.02 here since I'm technically on my fourth trigger in my MPX. I started with swapping out the original trigger with a CMC flat face. After 2000 rounds I noticed that the face of the hammer was mushrooming and damaging the firing pin hole on the BCG. I then I modified the stock trigger pack This worked well but still felt mushy. Came across this trigger and I figure I would give it a try. If I didn't like it I just throw it in one of my other ARs. https://www.taylor-tactical-supply.com/ar15-skeletonized-trigger-p/ar-bm-trigger-spring.htm While I waited for that to arrive I came across a good deal on a Gesseile SSA-E and ran that last weekend at my first PCC match. Worked and felt great but was a bit skeptical about it since Gesseile said that eventually all their triggers will fail in the MPX. Only put 300 flawlessly rounds through it. Today I got the flat trigger delivered and installed it. First impression was Meh. The sear face was rough with tool marks and covered with whatever finish they put on it. So I cleaned and polished and installed it with the original hammer and trigger bridge. It seems to work so far and much improved trigger pull, long travel though. Primer strikes seemed good with the lighter spring. Still want to do the over travel modification but will take it to the range Friday and see how it does.
