  1. I just discovered that my TS fits in the newer Ghost Stinger kydex holster sized for Stock3/CZ.
  2. Right. adjustable rear. I was going to get someone to mill it in just in front of that. I thought I saw someone on here who had done that. empty chamber starts are a pain and you have them almost every stage for the 3 Gun stuff around here. I am gearing up for the big FNH 3 Gun match in September. I like my Shadow but just love shooting the TS. I bought magazine extensions for the Shadow but the trigger on the TS is just too good to pass up.
  3. Looks like there is a CZ version as well. Is this the same one as the Czechmate? http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/550047000001_Slide-Racker-For-Tsczechmate-Only Guess I will lean towards that since it is black
  4. I am thinking about putting a slide racker on my TS to make it easier to do all those empty chamber starts. Leaning towards this one in aluminum but wanted to see if anyone else has recommendations. I figure it doesn't need to be long or angled since I am not clearing a scope. http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/slide-firing-parts/slide-hardware/slide-rackers/slide-racker-prod6821.aspx
  5. Looks like this guy split the difference on those two targets. Maybe off-center hits?
  6. Stage 6: You need to enter box 1 and box 2 ready to shoot. The range conditions might have contributed to this but your gun should be already up and you should be squeezing off the first rounds as you settle into position. It looks like you get in the box and then bring the gun up to start shooting now. Pistol reload: if it was fast then it doesn't matter if it was low. Doesn't look too low to me. Too much emphasis is placed on reloads highet by many.
  7. Okay, guess there isn't anything you can do about that then. Stage 2: You might have considered drawing onto the big paper target that was right in front of you and then going for the steel. Why are you still moving? shoot your second paper target, run in front of the plate rack, plant and shoot. Even when you are right there it looks like you are trying to show off by shooting the plate rack while walking backwards or something.
  8. Ready for death by a thousand cuts? Stage 1: Pistol looked very good. I am sure you aren't happy about a couple of misses on steel. If that was me I would chalk it up to trigger control but regardless you looked like you were doing everyting right from a movement and shooter perspective. Well done! Could you see that fourth rifle target from the same position where you took the first target? It looks like you could have saved a few seconds by taking the first and fourth targets from the same location so you didn't have to set up again. Also, I think you have the same problem that I have when it comes to trusting that if you get one good sight picture on those short range rifle targets that you really can just yank the trigger twice fast and get good hits. It something I hope we can practice before next month. Nice looking shooting on the move. I agree about the holding the shells. At first I though that wouldn't have been a big deal but you likely could have moved a bit faster in between those two bays.
  9. Only according to the rulebook which was put together just for this match. I wonder if there are any other rules in there that we shouldn't worry about...
  10. Try a little piece of masking tape in the center of your left lense.
  11. I believe the XDs are now approved for IDPA SSP so either of these should be okay for SSP or ESP. What work do you think you would need to do on the CZ that wouldn't be Production legal? No reason either of these guns couldn't work for all the divisions that you mentioned. About the only concern would be whether you keep a mag well on the guns and whether you do any stippling on the XD's grip. Obviously 9mm and minor scoring is less desirable for Limited division but it would still be good practice. Production is the best home for 9mm guns in USPSA.
  12. Pros: it's a great way for long range rifle shooters to make up distance on everyone else Cons: it's a great way for long range rifle shooters to make up distance on everyone else
  13. Seriously... changing a handguard out on an AR15 is an extremely visible external modification that most of your competitors will likely have done so please don't demean and act like it is a stupid question. The rulebook is written is such a way that you could easily bump 90% of the Tac Ops shooters into Open division so forgive me for wanting to get clarification before showing up on match day.
  14. Since I use my TS for 3 Gun I got some Safariland 773 pouches sized for Glock magazines. I then heated up while in an vise with the mags in place to slightly reduce the width and replaced the stock rollers with some larger Lego wheels. They are perfect now.
  15. Thanks, that is good to know. It certainly makes me nervous to have such a glaring, all encompassing, black-and-white rule in there that maybe (hopefully will be) ignored at the actual competition. The only thing factory configuration left from my poor ban era A2 Bushmaster is the lower receiver. My 3 Gun pistol and shotgun are also no strangers to Dremels and an assortment of files. Please only include rules that you want to enforce in the rule book.
  16. That just means the AMU can't show up with a new army space gun that shoots four belts at a time and clean all out clocks. Your guns gotta be something a factory built. 5.3 Tactical Scope division 5.3.1 Firearms must be of a factory configuration. Internal modifications are permitted providing they do not alter the external appearance of the firearm. Even replaced sights would qualify as an illegal mod and put you into open. Why would you write rules like this unless you really mean it?
  17. And "factory only configurations" for all guns outside of Open division? Is that an elaborate joke? Who, other than team FNH, doesn't have some externally visible mod across rifle, shotgun, and pistol? Heck, I bet half of the rifles started as lowers. Edit: full reference 5.3 Tactical Scope division 5.3.1 Firearms must be of a factory configuration. Internal modifications are permitted providing they do not alter the external appearance of the firearm.
  18. I wonder if the DAA Race holster would work. For kydex the Blade Tech is the only one I found without going to someone for a custom one.
  19. Thanks all for the feedback and advice. FYI, here is my rifle as it stands now.
  20. I have never seen anyone go prone willingly in USPSA. Distance would have to be 50 yards or beyond to even consider. Have you tried shooting from prone on the clock?
  21. Let me follow up with another question. What about skate tape on the end of my handguard?
  22. Based on the lack of response it wouldn't seem to a popular idea. I wasn't considering transition delays. Thank you for the response, Jesse.
  23. But that wouldn't help with the primary objective on this stage which is apparently, "let see if we can screw up the shooter."
  24. I have only done it 3 times in 12 years of off and on competition. Two of those times were on the same 50 yard classifier standard course so it doesn't happen very much. Draw your gun to your strong hand, place your weak hand on the ground in front of your feet, kick your legs out from underneath you and back, fall onto your stomach while you bring your support hand onto your gun, and start shooting. You will have to practice it a bit to see whether you prefer resting the magazine on the ground or keeping it lifted just off. You can also rest your head on your strong side shoulder if you are having trouble getting low enough to see your sights. For people who don't shoot pistol from prone (like me) it's amazing how much harder it actually makes it to shoot. It's definitely something that would be good to have better feel for but I just don't see it enough to put it high on my list for practicing.
