  1. I'm just going to go for it. Seems to me to be legal, no one at the local club has been able to say why it isn't legal.
  2. I've shot the 3.0 of Clay's and the 3.8 of Win231. Both with 180s. I prefer the Clay's but I can't find any Clay's yet. So I've been doig the Win232 load for IDPA.
  3. It appears that the Gen 3 guide rod adapters are a no go. Jager says that their polymer rods are SSP legal. I know that SS rods are legal. I am interested in the "Gen. 4 Captured hardened Steel Guide Rod (HEAVY .270)" because it might hold the larger diameter wolf springs (already have) slightly better than the smaller rod. But, before I purchase I wonder if I'm overlooking a reason other than the word heavy being in the product description that Jager doesn't list this as SSP compliant.
  4. Yeah, but due to our ecommerce software, it won't allow cross-sku discount. Give us a call and we'll get it done manually. ( 805-522-1911 )Are you still offering this?Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  5. Anyone have pics of the TTI +1 with the factory +0? Or factory flush?
  6. I may have to give it a try. Slide stop is hard to use. Only complaint so far.
  7. Is the slide stop different? Just the spring is the same?
  8. You should be hood to go for SSP. Provided it fits the box.
  9. Yeah, feel like I'm beating a dead horse at this point. But... Cabela's safari vest: 8"x8" pocket with 1.5 inch added to 3 sides. My pocket: 8"x10" pocket with 2x 1" pleats.
  10. I started my project first and read the rule mid way through. Just trying to get some feedback before I show up to a major match with it.
  11. Motosapiens, That is kind of my point in my last post. I shoot IDPA because I'm close to an IDPA club and its fun, It's a game. I'm a MM and I shoot just in the top half of that class around here. so, I don't feel that a vest is going to win or lose a match for me, and a "High SSP MM" trophy isn't all that prestigious anyway... I really am not aiming to gain an unfair advantage over people who purchase their vests. I just know how to sew and enjoy making my own equipment for my hobbies. The deal is if it is custom made, and I have intent to stow magazines in the pocket. One could attempt to DQ or FTDR becasue I specially made the pocket to stow magazines no matter what its actual design.
  12. Kind of vague, but I think I get it. I figure I can keep it inline with 5.11 or the Cabela's safari size and I should be OK, but my reading of rules literally, "the spirit of IDPA", and what I see matches don't always line up.
  13. 8.9.5 Specially made pockets for magazine stowage after a reload may not be used. I'm making a vest for use as an IDPA concealment garment. I am working on the pockets right now. I have two pockets about the size of BDU cargo pockets. If I place a mag in them after a reload with retention, is this a violation of the rule. I've seen some other vests with large pockets used, some even "made to order." What say ye?
  14. I used a lighter spring in my G22. Feed fine with the standard spring and locked back on last round. I like the feel of the lighter spring better though.
  15. I was loading that same load with clays till I ran out. Great load.
  16. Let me preface this by saying I don't want to start a USPS bashing thread. I have two packages currently "stuck" (my words) in Texas. First was mailed 3/3 the other 3/9. They show estimated delivery dates of 3/6 and 3/12 respectively. I've never had USPS packages take this long past the estimate before. The funny thing is they both show Copell, TX as their last scan. I'm not really versed in how USPS operates. Both were sent priority mail. To the question, how much longer would you wait, and what if anything would you do? What avenues can I follow? Is responsibility on me, the vendors. or USPS in these circumstances? Again, pardon my ignorance of the postal system, I've only had exceptional luck with USPS priority.
  17. Look at competitive concealment. I scored for a squad that had two shooters with them and they are really nice. I don't like the Cabela's safari vest I bought off the bat. Too many layers of pockets.
  18. I just ordered some 500D. It was a good enough price and I can always find another application if I decide to order a stiffer fabric. I plan on adding numerous mesh vents.
  19. Hey all, I'm looking to sew up my own custom IDPA vest. I cut my teeth with sewing on camping equipment, and I think I can make the vest to my specific preferences better if I do it myself over contracting it out. I'm having a problem sourcing suitable material for the project. I want to use Uncoated Cordura. I am trying to determine what the best weight. I'm looking at 1000D and 500D. Does anyone know what weight is used in the Competitive Concealment vest? I've had the chance to handle one of their vests and it would be a good comparison for when I decide to place my fabric order.
  20. Google $28 bullet feeder. I'm very happy with mine. It took some searching to gather the parts, but I have 4 tubes now and it really seems to speed things up. My press isn't blue and I'm still very satisfied. Go figure.
  21. I have a pair of half jackets. They fit my face well and look OK on the street IMO. I was set to get the Prizm until I realised they didn't make it for them. I'd go with the Flack Jackets. As they are next best for my face. Followed by the radar but as shooting only, not as big a fan of the "style" of them for every day.
  22. Snapped a photo of my feeder. Its not my idea but it works. Looks like its conceptually similar to the mini Mr bullet feeder. Its a Hornady bullet feed die and some 1/2" OD tubing. Add a cotter pin to hold the bullets in the tube. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  23. I did the "$28 Bullet feeder" Hornady bullet feed die and fish tank air tube. I keep 4 tubes loaded with bullets. I swap them out as needed. I find it works well enough for the investment. It doesn't really save time, but I can load bullets in tubes while watching TV. I don't have a case feeder. So I only have to manually feed cases and not bullets and cases. 24. If I could get it to meter at all I'd make use of the 4lbs in my basement. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  25. I've been loading .40 to 145 PF for SSP. I have a bit of a cushion. My point was that I don't think that IDPA intends for us to use higher power ammo. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
