  1. No no I'm saying just to support the engine like you were saying whitedog. I think a rolling floor jack would be more supportive then a jack stand, no?
  2. I have four ramps. I've seen some people do it with car jacks. I've got a 2 ton rolling jack and some small ones that have came from trunks. I'd think that with the right placement I might be able to get it out. Sounds like a down and dirty project for a couple weeks.
  3. Hey everyone, A bunch of us from the UF 3-Gun team are heading to the 3GN regional in Marble Falls Texas at copperhead creek Shooting range. Has anyone ever stayed in their bunk houses out there? We're planning to stay in them and wanted to hear everyone's opinions.
  4. Yep sounds exactly what I had to do to get it home after the incident. Now if only I could use your help to tear this thing apart. I'm much more of a hands on person when it comes to things, I'd rather fix my car myself. Unfortunately being young and in college means not a lot of tools. Is there a way to drop the transmission without a lift?
  5. Pumping the clutch doesn't help it into or out of any gear. I would agree it's a pressure plate issue. +1 on the six pack haha. Car will shift into all gears when not running. It is difficult to shift in every gear when running. 1st gear is just the hardest.
  6. Stock striker... No, I have a zev for my gen 3, never used it in a gen 4 though
  7. Well you bought a 34 but I'll throw in my 2c. I have a 34 and a 35 and also a kkm conversion for the 35. I choose to shoot the conversion 35 over the 34 all the time, the barrel adds mass and I don't have to worry about changing accessories between guns. Plus now you already have the 9mm extractor and ejector. I only ever change the ejector though, no problems with the extractor
  8. I concur, I ran a 17# for a while and switched over to a 15# and haven't looked back since.
  9. Correct me but there's no difference between an uncaptured and captured guide rod correct? It's just whether or not you put the washer back on the guide rod right?
  10. Sorry, I was busy getting ready for the Florida Open. I ended up driving there on my motorcycle, quite the experience on a sports bike haha. The clutch feels fine. Total resistance all the way through. The car will move even with the clutch pedal all the way depressed. It wants to roll a little in 1st. The clutch isn't slipping when I drive it. I can drive it, just sometimes it won't get out of 1st gear. The other gears are tough but not impossible to get out of. I came across someone else on a vw forum that described to the T my same problem. It ended up being the clutch plate and the springs on it that come into contact with the pressure plate. Essentially if one snaps it puts uneven pressure on the clutch which could be why it's difficult to get in and out of gear.
  11. How did you end up doing? Those looked like some solid runs.
  12. I have an 03 VW Jetta 1.8T 5spd manual transmission that back in November 2014 stopped going into gear. I was taking a small road trip of about 1.5 hours and about an hour into it I was pulling out at an intersection and it just lurched and then I couldnt get it back into gear easily. 1st gear was damn near impossible so I manged to drive it home using 2nd-5th gears which still were not easy to switch between but not as bad as 1st. When the car is running it is almost impossible to put the car into any gear, when it is off it shifts just fine. It is a hydraulic clutch so i've already gone ahead and bled the clutch and put in new fluid, no air pockets. I realigned the shift linkage and everything is fine there. I'm really hoping this doesn't mean I need to pull the clutch apart. Does anyone have any knowledge of transmissions that could recommend me trying anything to narrow down the issue? Thanks so much in advance!
  13. If we all say we're in, we secretly get invited to the pre-sign up, sign up. Yeah? I'm in!
  14. Yep, read that original thread. I was the guy who milled his to fit the weight. I'm still using it today and will be this weekend at SE Pro Am. It's all powder coated up now though

  16. Awesome! Look forward to seeing you there. Stop by and say hey to the guy with the name Doss on the back of his jersey.
  17. I do have 5 picked out. I don't plan on releasing them in advanced but the minimum round count for 5 classifiers will be 84 rounds and I'm hoping to squeeze in one larger field course if I can find space. Possibly 6 total stages.
  18. Just wanted to announce it here as well but our all classifier match will be held this upcoming weekend, Sunday July 6th in Gainesville Florida with Gainesville Practical Shooters club ran by the UF Pistol Team. Cost is $30 and we're definitely having 5 stages, hoping for 6 if I can find a place to squeeze another in.
  19. Haha that sounds like an awesome idea! Feel free to send me the match directors information and maybe we can make it a bigger lv.2 match or something Maybe involve a trophy to keep for the year and bragging rights? My mind is thinking of a lot of great ideas now! Also as a side note, I am back from vacation finally and wanted to announce again that our next Gainesville USPSA match with be this weekend, Sunday July 6th. It is an all classifier match. 5 (maybeee 6) stages for $30! We want to see everyone out there and have fun and put some more classifiers under their belts!
  20. It's a done deal! We will be having an all Classifier match Sunday July 6th at Gainesville Target Range. Cost will be $30 and we are looking to have 5 stages. It will be a mix of longer field stages and shorter classifiers. Hope to see you all out there!
