  1. Never heard of anything like that
  2. Yeah I don't think letting 40 in would take over 1911's. But if it grew the division enough, the 1911 guys would become a smaller percent of the base. At some point it would be hard to argue the 8+1 round limit if that happened I'm fine the way it is really. But they could have auto and revolver minor and major for each plus an open division. In the auto I wouldn't make a 1911 capacity concession. But you could encourage stages that avoided round counts that discriminate. Like 10, 11 and 18 round stages???
  3. I don't know that it would take over but a striker fired 45 might be quicker without having to manipulate the safety? Also it may increase pressure to change the capacity restriction. I think the capacity restriction is what protects the Wilson's of the world. More so than the caliber
  4. He would advise you to add some breath mints I am sure. He also might organize it for you. He likes tidy
  5. I work at a large retail company in Arkansas and I can tell you that 40 cal sales are much more than 2% of pistol ammo sales.
  6. Oh - we should start a tactics school based on the newly discovered "urban survival altoid tin".
  7. I wonder about the tactical shooting courses. Not to step on anyone's toes or insult anyone. But I think small unit tactics are very well developed and a lot of the "Brands" out there teaching tactics courses seem to be ex military ninja's. But as for the rest I think it is very "un-developed" and people teach some nuance or another that it seems has little to do with a self defense shooting.... But - I digress and derail - please forgive me again.....
  8. Interesting thread. I had to reply so I could find it later
  9. Yes it's the factory non extended slide release. It's not bent up. I know my thumb is hitting it. It doesn't seem like I could bend it in any more but I might try that. Need to work on thumb totally off during next dry fire session.
  10. Ah the crash hawk. I remember loading up on a flight one day -we always flew doors closed cause it was 40 below and when we landed this grunt yanked on a handle to open the door...... The door totally ejected off the aircraft. I almost pissed myself laughing!
  11. I think anything at same power factor will have similar recoil. People describe the feel differently but I'm not sure there is much if a difference. At least not enough to see it consistently on the clock. But that's just my science thinkig. I haven't shot all these different combinations so who knows.
  12. I have the adj Dawson serrated rear. They are .125 and the front is FO. .1. It's a good combination but I would like to try a narrower rear sight.
  13. This is a very important question. I also need a really cool personalized serial number
  14. Osage. I have to poke some fun at you now. I am ex army. So this is in fun..... Please take it that way. When you say you are in the army and talk tactics you get a little bit of credit for that experience. But then when you reveal you are a Ft Rucker Rotary Wing Weenie, you actually lose some credibility on tactics:). just sayin' What do you fly?
  15. I hear what you are saying Osage.
  16. Haha. True that. I guess u can always use firearm as blunt object at that point
  17. Osage - why is dumping a magazine so bad tactically in your opinion? I have heard people say this a lot and it just doesn't compute for me. So would like to hear your thoughts on why that would be such a sin?
  18. I just played with it for a few minutes and I can consistently do it in about .13 seconds. This is likely a limit for how fast my splits could ever be?
  19. Try pushing the start/stop button on a stop watch and see how fast you can do it
  20. And sorry. I was responding to the thread more than your post
  21. True. But for the larger percentage of shooters there are more lucrative things to work on
  22. This seems like a distraction. In my line of work there are a million things I can do to improve my business but my resources are finite. I have to prioritize the most valuable things. With shooting, chasing splits seems like the smallest increment and possibly detrimental to other fundamentals. For example is a 20 shot stage improving from .2 to .15 splits would bet you 1 second in overall time. There are bigger fish to fry for most of us
