Just got back from range. Shot a couple hundred rounds. Remans from freedom munitions. 115 and 147’s. Runs flawlessly so far. As to dot bounce. It does move a bit but I could empty 40 rounds into the A zone as fast as I could pull the trigger. I imagine a longer barrel would have less movement. But haven’t ever shot anything else so not sure what to compare it to. My first foray into reflex sites and im converted. Haha. The competition side charge lever is the bomb though. I can’t really see ever using the top charging handle. I think I addressed everyone’s questions?? If not - ask them again or message me. The buffer is the SCS 5 steel short stroke. I literally am new to ar pistols so I called them up and that’s what they recommended. As far as the mag well. I didn’t have it on when I took it to the range so can’t say for sure. But playing with it in dry fire I like it. Also. The 510 height seems right but am still getting used to “mounting” the stock. So perhaps lower would be better. For context. I used to shoot idpa (it’s Arkansas after all) and some uspsa. Mediocre at best. So. Take that for what it’s worth. As it’s an ar pistol I didn’t buy it to compete with. It’s a toy. Wanted short without the legal hassles. The challenge I had with the safety was just the reach of my thumb I think. When I would bring it to my shoulder and flip the safety, it would stop with a fraction of rotation still to go. It’s getting better with some dry fire practice at home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The comp is titanium. I’m gonna try to get to the range today and will pay more attention to dot bounce. But first range session I was pulling the trigger as fast as I could and getting all A’s. But. I’ll pay closer attention this time. The Velcro is on the arm brace. It’s a pistol so has to have an arm brace. It’s the sbtac brace. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think the comp matters that much. But. They recommended it. Recoil is an absolute non issue. So I can’t imagine making it significantly better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The stock is fine. I’m new to this kind of set up. So am still trying to figure out proper way to mount it. Out a holosun on there and it’s pretty easy to see quickly. I like the weight and balance. I just received my jp. It’s an 8 inch barrel. First trip to the range and it was flawless through 350 rounds and all the glock mags I had. The thing is like butter. Love it!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wish you would end your obligation some time soon. I know I know. We are all idiots because we haven't shot as many matches as you and blah blah blah. No one here is protecting the brand. But they disagree with you and find you petty and annoying....

You guys kill me. I dropped out of this conversation. But I glance back in and you guys attack anyone who disagrees with your assessment about future of IDPA. I will agree with one thing chuck said. It is a business. If they are losing money, they will innovate. If they are making money they may not innovate. They are in a unique position to have many revenue streams but I can't imagine they would just let a decent highly profitable revenue stream whither up. You guys sound like you got the shaft. If so, sucks for ya. But dang guys, move on with life!! Haha

Actually the original poster asked if IDPA had become a foolish game. My answer - no game where I get to run around and shoot is foolish. And I don't have to camo up! I love to debate issues but (I won't use the term whining) it often seems that folks On here make bold proclamations of IDPA imminent demise because of a rule or a cohort of SO's left or some other disgruntlement. My guess is that IDPA will be around for a long time to come. I work in retail and in every category of merchandise you have a different mix of trial shoppers and repeat shoppers. Smart retailers do things to make that mix profitable in short term as well as long term The core of the discussion may be that some don't feel IDPA has done that well. But I would argue that they can be successful regardless of decisions and policies and treatment of SO's etc for many years. Not advocating they do - just pointing out that there will continue to be growth in IDPA for a while. There are things they have done well in that regard. So - when I get called ignorant for self proclaiming I am not familiar with uspsa rules but then make a point about technical writing I then think that some folks have lost sight of rational thinking and are just pissed that they got a procedural that cost them a wooden plaque or who knows what. That's when it seems like whining in my humble opinion. But what do I know. I'm just a sucker that sent IDPA my dues!

GOF - I don't recall ever making a comparison to uspsa. Why do you feel the need to make it personal when someone disagrees with you. This thread keeps luring me in. I'm not sure why. Mostly it just bugs me to hear grown men whine so much. New shooters are good thing guys. Sorry if that hurts your feelings. The fact is that if we don't get more and more new shooters we risk a lot more than whatever your beef is with IDPA. None of bathe new shooters I have encountered are learning tactics from IDPA. Hell I have recruited 9 or 10 guys from work to come out and shoot matches. Do you know why? Cause it's fun!

GOF - I'll speak at will. This is an IDPA forum. There is no uspsa in my area so why learn the uspsa rule book. Just saying that here is no document that doesn't have interpretation issues. Legal or otherwise. Contracts are disputed all the time. Perhaps the uspsa rule book is the exception. If so great. I don't really care about the uspsa rule book though.

I am a fairly new shooter and got certified as an so just cause I thought I could make the local matches run faster than they were currently bein administered. And I get to shoot for free! I will disagree that even with technical writers you don't get perfect. I don't know uspsa rules , but am fairly familiar with the constitution which was written by a bunch of legal people ( I think almost 30 of the founding fathers were lawyers) and it is constantly debated in court by people who interpret it differently.

I'm not bitter...I'm being honest. There's a difference. When I sent my membership card back to HQ...I told them to keep the money. Haha. I don't know what your talking about. But if she says 25000 members. I beleive her. If she is lying, I will still beleive her and it will be ok. The point of my post was that that membership level equals close to a million dollars in revenue per year. I could really care less if people running IDPA have fired shots in self defense. Are you saying legitimate shooting sports can only be run by ninjas? I still am not sure what your point is.

In the latest IDPA magazine Joyce said membership was all time high at 25000 members. I doubt retention is as bad as folks on here would like it to be.
