  1. Does anyone know where you can get 20 rd + extensions for the full size Sig P320 magazines? I really like the new 320, and wanted to use it locally in some of our three gun matches to get a feel for it. With stages built around 20 rd mags, it really helps to have the capacity. I know they make 20 rounders for the 226, surely something for the 320 will be in the works? I spoke to the Sig pro shop and they had no idea and no ETA for any. The mags are mec I believe, steel bodied with simple base plates. Surely someone is making an extension for them somewhere? I've had zero luck finding any online. FYI - these are the same mags that fit the P250. Thanks

    Sig P320

I bought this pistol this week and got to take it out today for a 200 round break in. Ammo is expensive so don't look for me to out more than that through it on one range trip. I have never been a sig guy, but this felt good enough in my hand that I had to try it. After shooting: I absolutely love it. Grip angle points naturally for me (I've always had to fight the G34), trigger is fantastic (very short and crisp, around 5.5 lbs), and it is very accurate. If I had the mags, I wouldn't hesitate to put it in local competitions as early as this coming weekend. I'm already as accurate with it as my trusty Glock, that's with a 3.5 lb connector and Dawson sights. Even though the trigger is a tad heavier than my Competition glock, it's so crisp and solid it really is easier to shoot than the spec sheet suggests. Again, I'm no pro shooter (USPSA B classification, decent local 3 gunner), but so far I absolutely love this gun (own G34, went through M&P Pro and FNS Longslide before selling to fund this purchase). The only knock: the extended slide release sits right where my thumb rides, so the slide doesn't always lock back (100% my fault, locks back when right thumb was off the release). It is my understanding Sig is already working on a new slide release that extends forward, not back. A lot of people have this problem with extended glock releases as well, so not a huge deal. You could overcome with training, but once they come out with a slightly altered release it should be a mute point. If you have the funds and like the feel of the gun in your hand, don't hesitate to give it a try. Comes with a holster and two mags. I've written Sig to see if I can get some 20 rounders for it to get it in the three gun game (they make 20 rounders for the 226, I feel this shouldn't be much of a stretch). If not I need one of you guys to come out with some extended basepads. Again, great gun in my opinion. And although brand new, mine has been 100% reliable.
  4. I've started using the straight 8 quad load carriers on a chest rig. Solid product. I may try some belt mounted, just seems to load easier from the chest rig strong hand.
  5. I really like the Bushnell Elite Tactical 1-6.5 having put hands on all the above. Guys at our local club run all the aforementioned scopes, personally I still like the Bushnell.
  6. Would I be better off to forget the 14.5" pin and welded and just go with the aac mpw 16" or noveske 15" w/NSR? I hate adding 6 inches to a 16" rifle with the suppressor, but seems the money will be about the same. I think I could get Ranier to pin and weld their select barrel (14.5) and install gas block, all for around $385 ($485 with muzzlebreak). By the time I add NSR, upper receiver group, BCG and charging handle, I'm right there at $1,200. Has anyone had experience with the Ranier .300 blk out barrels? Are they g2g? They make them sound solid on the website, but then I'd have to get the right buffer/springs etc to make sure it will run. The AAC and Noveske should run no problems as they are factory assembled. I want the 14.5", but my head is saying just forget the custom build and buy an assembled urg. Decisions decisions.
  7. It won't fit under any Handguard. I may give syrac a try if I can't talk to someone at aac or ranier to find out if the carbine length will work without adjustable gas block on the 14.5". That or just buy the noveske.
  8. It says two stage but really doesn't perform like one. You really won't be able to tell its two stage. Try it on someone else's rifle if you can, you will see what I'm saying.
  9. How about a pinned Lo pro pistol gas system such as the noveske? Would this be really over gassed or a reliable alternative for both subsonic and supersonic without going the adjustable route? I don't want to use an adjustable gas block if I can help it. An added potential failure point.
  10. I run the A5 on my comp gun and also love it. It's am 18" with rifle length gas system and full auto BCG. I get the reciprocating mass argument, but with a .223 I don't see that there is that much of a difference anyway. I have friends with JP's but I would put my rifle against theirs anyway. I think your muzzlebrake and trigger can mitigate the need for messing with the bolt carrier. If you go bolt the lightened route, then I agree: use the adjustable gas block and lighter buffer spring. You would probably want to skip the A5.
  11. I work with the 16 lb lmt mws to build strength, then my 9 lb 18" Loki feels pretty light considering. I'm with you on lighter is better though. That's why there's a market for carbon fiver Handguard rifles with lightweight barrels like the Larue Predatar, etc. if you can find a gun you can run as quick but it's lighter, I'd switch in a heartbeat. A good comp and an AR Golf trigger and it would be hard to find any rifle that wouldn't run good for 3 gun.
  12. AR Gold, far and away the best trigger I've ever felt. I do not see how you could possible be faster or more accurate than that. Many top shooters run it, and there's a reason. Zero over travel and zero creep. Try it, you will love it.
  13. Thanks, that was my thoughts exactly. I like stuff that works, I don't want to introduce another failure point. That being said, I don't want it to be horribly gassed either. I like the looks of the ranier barrel for the money, but I don't know why they'd go with the carbine length gas system. By the time I buy $100 adjustable gas block and their $259 barrel, then have it installed, I'm up there in the Noveske price anyway. I have read some good things about the Syrac adjustable block, but again I'm not sure I want to bring another variable into the reliability equation. I will be changing ammo back and forth, supersonic for general hunting, subsonic for defense or close quarters hunting. Subsonic will always be suppressed as long as my AAC keeps kicking.
  14. There wasn't a lot in it, but the shooting in Open Range was solid and I thought very realistic for that era. Robert Duvall's shotgun blast through the house construction was the probably the single best gunshot kill I've seen in just about any movie. Just wanted to throw one out there no one had mentioned.
  15. Non-suppressed I will only be running supersonic ammo. Suppressed I want to run both supersonic and subsonic. Forgot to include that in my post.
  16. I need some help with a build I'm researching. I want to build a 300 blackout with a 14.5" barrel, pin and welded AAC muzzlebrake. This gun will be run suppressed mostly, but I want it to function unsuppressed too in case I'm ever in a pinch. This is going to be my home defense, hunting, farm, hard use carbine. I want a set-up that's extremely rugged and reliable, but also reasonably short and handy. Quality components but reasonably cost effective. My dilemma involves the decision between an adjustable gas block and non-adjustable. What I've decided so far: 13.5" Noveske NSR handguard, Ranier Arms Upper combo with BCG and Raptor charging handle, AAC 51T Blackout flash hider. Barrel: I'm torn between the Noveske 14.5" lo pro or the Ranier Arms select 14.5." That being said, I have been researching these barrels and am having trouble deciding between an adjustable gas block and a standard that's pinned. I prefer the pinned for reliability, but in talking with a sales rep today for Ranier Arms he recommended an adjustable gas block. I've read that a 300 blk out won't function with a carbine gas system under 16". I've also noticed Noveske offers their barrels with a pistol length gas system. I tried to find one but they are $455. Ranier Arms has a good looking Select 300 Blk Out barrel coated black for $259. It's guaranteed sub moa with match ammo, but it has a carbine gas system. Is it incorrect to not want an adjustable gas block on a hard-use, defense carbine? I'd prefer to just have the standard gas block, but if the adjustable gas blocks are reliable, I guess it would be the better route? Has anyone had this issue, and if so, what did you choose and how did it work? I'd like the shorter 14.5", but the AAC 16" upper with knights rail for $1,080 is looking better and better everyday.
  17. Don't weld the lifter if you can stand it. It usually causes feeding issues. My friend had his lifter welded, he now has a benelli. Meanwhile my gun is completely stock with 100% reliability. As I read your experience, I am truly shocked. I bought the SLP specifically for competitions. I locked the bolt back for a day before I shot it for the first time, oiled it like the manual prescribes, and knock on wood I've never had a malfunction of any kind with that shotgun. It runs everything, and groups slugs well too. Sounds like there's something not right and I would send it back to Fn ASAP. If they don't take care of you, I'd like to know. I always talk about how great FN is and how their shotgun is way better to me than the Benellis my buddies shoot (less recoil, faster cycling, combat gun reliability). The fact that FN would design a single piston that doesn't cycle light loads is insane when they are so big in the sport of 3 gun. I've had nothing but good experiences with mine, but I received two pistons and run the light piston for competitions. My gun has been so reliable, it would be one of my first guns to reach for in a home defense situation. I can't fathom having all the issues you've had and the company not wanting to help you out.
  18. Has anyone had any accuracy problems out of their M&P's? I know the shooter has something to do with it, but as a fairly decent shooter I find I am way more accurate with my glock than my M&P pro. I know grip angle etc etc., but I shoot 1911's more accurately than either. So it's not grip angle. Both have after market triggers (3.5 lb connector in glock, 3 lb apex trigger kit with Reset assist device). I was curious from you M&P shooters that got rid of your Glocks if you ever noticed a difference on accuracy? The gun, even off a homemade rest, never seems to group as well as my 34. Maybe it's just me.... The M&P definitely handles recoil better than the glock, and I like being able to load from a locked slide just by slamming in a loaded magazine, but the 34 has always shot way more accurately for me.
  19. Thanks, I appreciate the info! I emailed noveske directly to see what they say. The more rail the better in my opinion!
  20. Thanks I appreciate it. It was fun and hope to do it again soon. Managed 5th despite not shooting much this year. Picked up a new Predator Custom lower for the effort. I'm now wondering if that was a mistake as I look at the cost if new components online!
  21. I want to build a 14.5" barreled 300 Blk out rifle with the NSR rail (pin and welded muzzlebrake). Unlike most companies, Noveske has an 11" and a 13.5" rail instead of a 12". Can someone tell me how much clearance I will need between the Handguard and muzzlebrake to easily attach and remove a suppressor? I like to have as long of a Handguard as possible, covering as much of the barrel as possible, so if I could get by with the 13.5" NSR, that would be preferable. However, I'm guessing that won't be enough clearance so I guess the 11" will probably be the route to go? Anyone else already running this setup, and if so, what length Handguard could I get by with? The can I'll be running is an AAC Sdn-6. Thanks in advance
