  1. Valid idea, but....by the time it gets to Australia, including taxes, US export permits, dealer fees, the poor USD to AUD exchange rate and whatever profit the CKArms distributor makes on top of that...it's well and beyond the price of a GM. CKArms make good guns. I have looked into it myself but the price has put me off.
  2. The difference between a GM and an SVI here in Australia is not $2000. I paid only hundreds more for my SVI than what a GM costs here.
  3. By the way, not much price difference in Aus between a GM and a basic SVI open gun.
  4. I have an SVI on the way. And by on the way I mean I get to see and test fire it tomorrow If you are from where your location says, then your local distributor is in the same state.
  5. Have only had confirmed reports of it being available in 1 state, and that was a very limited supply and that's all they are getting until April apparently. I have seen nothing in the northern states yet.

    RTS 2

I'm getting an open gun built by an Aussie builder and he is using the C-More STS...maybe check it out? The STS has a better record for reliability but it's an older tech and has a much smaller window on it. many guys shooting IPSC/USPSA found the glass too small. the benefit of the RTS2 is a much bigger sight glass that is almost as good as the cmore railway/slideride everyone has been using for years. Honestly, we know the limitations of the railway/slideride but given they are only around $250 for a new one, still last a while, are much more reliable, have the biggest glass and when mounted sideways are as low if not lower than a slide mounted RTS I would suggest that the good ol railway/slideride is still the best option for an open IPSC type gun. Appreciate what you're saying. I'm coming from a standard gun so I won't know any better..I've never shot with a railway or slide ride. If the RTS2 didn't have issues I would have gone with that

  8. If Infinity sells your distributor frames, they have a lot of trust in them. Kodiak Precision is about the only one I know of in the US, but there may be others. I am in Australia, our distributor has spent time with Sandy & Brandon and been trained by them. Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of being able to buy guns built by SVI
  9. What if I am getting a gun built by an SVI distributor who uses all SVI parts including SVI frames and AET barrels... What is it?
  10. Be keen to know what the outcome is. I recently had my own STI mag nightmares after converting to 357 Sig. 126mm tubes with Grams guts just didn't work. Nosedive on 1st and 2nd round yet they worked fine in a 140mm tube.
  11. The president of your club is my gunsmith. A very good one at that. Hopefully get my gun back off him this week!
  12. I have one seen one of these and it was at a shop in Margate. From what I saw, it is just a hard chromed, tri topped Edge. Didn't have too much of a close look but they were the differences I noticed. I think it was around $3000 from memory. Kind of really depends what you want. Where do you shoot? I have an Edge that I shoot in standard class if you want to test it sometime.
  13. How do y'all know when to switch to a finer paper?
  14. Rang SSI, they are sending me a Tungsten one . They offered for me to send the SS one back and they would credit me fore the shipping but I said I was happy to just pay them for the SS one. Very happy with SSI's service. The finish on the EGW SS is a little rougher than my Brazos..oh well at least I have a spare now
  15. Did not buy direct from EGW..bought from SSI
  16. Hi, I initially ordered an SVI Tungsten guide rod from SSI. I was then advised that the SVI is out of stock and they could send me an EGW instead. No worries. Queue 2 weeks and a package arrives with this It weighs in at 46grams (1.62oz). Have I been sent a stainless steel guide rod instead of tungsten? I'm in Australia too so sending this one back would cost more than the guide rod is worth! I've sent an email to the store to see what they can do.
  17. Was wondering the same thing
  18. That looks awesome, pity they're so expensive. And I'm in Australia as well so it requires a US export permit (another $200-250)
  19. Have you guys got any pics of your SV grips fitted to STI's?
  20. You are lucky to be getting AP50 for $42 a tub. I recently picked up a 2kg bottle of AP50 (rare as hens teeth these days) for $150 so was pretty happy with that. Have 2 of them now which should last me a couple years (only use it for 9mm which I don't shoot much of). I'm down to under 1kg of AP70, 1lb of Unique and 4lb of Power Pistol for my 357 Sig loads. Might have to start stocking up on/using AP100 soon at this rate!
  21. Can you manually lock the slide back with the Nitro Fin?
  22. Can't get VV from any places that I've called (all up and down East Coast Australia).
  23. Mine does this with conical projectiles. Any other rounds work fine.
