  1. No tightening down does not help. It is a matter of too little plastic and too much weight. The lack of safety is not worth the hassle. Blade Tech has a classic OWB holster which does the trick, as well
  2. I have settled on the Blade Tech. it is straight forward and non-gimmicky. I have also a Guga Ribas/Ernie Hill. It is an excellent holster when your skills get to that level. The one serious failure for the CZ TS is BladeTech's competition holster. It does not work well as it cannot support the weight at the top. I've had my CZ fall out twice doing simple tasks such as walking or jogging. There will be no third time.
  3. The CZ TS .40 was designed and built specifically for Limited. It is a competition gun with a 1 3/4# trigger. Out of the box you are in an excellent position. Personally I only added larger mags and now have a gun ready for my journey through the competition world. From the CZ-USA site: "The CZ 75 TS is a competition-ready pistol designed for IPSC standard division (USPSA limited division). The weight and balance of the CZ 75 TS are optimized for the rapid, accurate style of shooting necessary for success in practical shooting disciplines. The Tactical Sports model is the next generation of the proven CZ 75 Standard IPSC. The TS retains all of the best features of Standard IPSC model and improves upon the platform with increased durability, new sights, a new trigger system and more. " Consider that the SP-01 can be successfully coerced into a competition shooter it was designed to carry accessories and to be used in real world situations (military and police). " The SP-01 was designed as a military and law enforcement duty sidearm. The new model is currently in use by security forces fighting the war on terrorism. " ref: http://cz-usa.com
  4. As a lefty shooting a TS .40 in limited Major, I am quite satisfied with my 1 3/4# trigger. I found fitting the rubber grips to have the best traction for my finger length. The one change I made to accommodate left hand shooting and my short fingers was a Right hand extended thumb safety from CZC.
  5. Like TS. 40, or CZ85, PCR, 452, SP01? Perhaps one of those ? [emoji6] Sent from my SM-J700T1 using Tapatalk
  6. I've noticed much debate concerning time impact on larger matches. I might suggest that this is not a rule issue but one of safety. If the number of attendees start to make an unsafe environment, then perhaps changing the safety rules is Not the best approach. Perhaps seeking relief elsewhere would be better. If this sport were to grow. I do not think we should shortcut the rules. We should enforce them more so. However, limits on participants, running more matches (depending on region, and other solutions may help keep us engaged and safe. For example. at one of my clubs USPSA matches, last summer just started growing rapidly. PracticScore tablets had to be implemented just to eliminate the excessive paperwork. After a month Limits on attendees had to be put in place. In addition, opening up registration two days prior helped a little. We just don't have anymore slots for additional matches on the range. The cost has not gone up. But Central Florida is lucky as there are quite a few matches in the area. However, if membership were to double, what would be our response? Shortcut the rules for expediency? And, where does greed come into play in all of this? What if a match of 110 were cut down to 75?
  7. One might argue that placing the responsibility for safety on the range on a couple ROs eliminates the need for individuals to determine the safety of the range.
  8. I believe DNROI has officially addresses many of the most recent 'debate's here. http://www.multibriefs.com/briefs/uspsa/alarming-trend.pdf
  9. ... and now am looking to relocate. What would be a nice location near a great range that supports. Is it possible under 200K? 300K?
  10. I'll admit I was being a bit snarky, It was a rough agreement of with d_strker, To quote: "Any barrier less than 6 feet tall (-3 inch variation) specified as extending to infinity must be clearly identified in the WSB and marked accordingly, " I am sure we can identify and list quite a few scenarios regarding the choice of '6 feet'. However, barring the bulld of any type of riser 6 feet seem a little high for the threshold. perhaps 4 or 5 feet would make more sense. as that allows shooting over walls by design and accommodates most heights. this threshold does favor a select few and so rings as an odd height threshold.
  11. So I guess I just add 'Rule 2.2.3.3 applies' to all the stage briefing templates. The designer can cross it out as needed. Or can I have it written at the bottom in very tiny print?
  12. I know this may sound inflammatory. But, my intention is merely a personal perspective. Each black person does not speak for a group. I apologize for jumping onto what is a personal pet peeve.
  13. I have to admit that I never thought too much about it. Here in Central Florida, I'm seeing a broad range of cultures. As with any group of people, I've come across a few that, obviously, are paths will not cross if it doesn't have to. But, yet, everyone has been agreeable. I have made a comment to a few other blacks that there is an awkwardness when we meet/pass each other on the range as if there is a requirement that we all acknowledge each other. I always find that pretty funny as it reminds me of a few things back in 6th grade. There is an economic factor to consider and what is the black pct of the population 10%, 12%, 20%? There are a lot of hobbies to be had and I don't think there should be an even distribution by race. wink-wink. It is what it is.

  15. At the risque of confusing, I have my xl650 set to 1.165 for my CZ TS .40 S & W. My magazines will choke at 1.17+. the chamber is ~1.18. In your case, are all three guns for competition? or is the XDM a carry gun?
  16. It is important to double that message. Shooting glasses are Safety glasses, safety glasses first and foremost. From Safetyeyeglass.com (store): " To help combat the eye hazards in these dangerous environments the United States Military has implemented a series of rigorous ballistic tests that safety glasses, sunglasses, and goggles worn by today's men and women in uniform have to pass. These tests subject eyewear to projectile impacts over four times the velocity (650 fps +/- 10 fps) of normal ANSI testing standards (150 fps). All the ballistic safety glasses, ballistic sunglasses and ballistic goggles listed in this section are certified ANSI Z87.1-2015 for high impact, and also meet or exceed one or more of the following ballistic standards: MIL-PRF-31013, MIL-V-43511C, and CE EN166B. " Glass would probably shatter or splinter into the eye and that would not be a welcome result.
  17. The original question was not about general storage. I was curious of those that have a competition gun but use it almost daily. In my case the gun is on my bench being maintained, in my bag about to go to the range, or about to be used for dry fire practice. Ally other guns are in the safe. But, to be honest, sometimes I am just tired tired to keep hiking back and forth to the safe. Somedays, I get home a just drop my bag until the next day Sent from my Z981 using Tapatalk

  19. I added a small amount of JB Weld to the post on the main spring plug (the part that holds the magwell in place). I did several applications of very small amounts. That way the plug still looks neat. It worked famously, The magwell is now tight in position and runs almost completely flush along the back edge. This is a before picture. Note the lip along the back edge. I no longer have that lip and I did not have to file excessive metal to blend the magwell with the frame.
  20. Hello, I would like to add a small amount of material to the mainspring plug (for a CZ Tactical Sport Magwell). The goal is to get the magwell to seat more firmly and align with the opening reliably. This is caused by the magwell having an opening of .135 and the plug having a diameter of .11. I think that if I could somehow add .015 - .02 of material to the back edge of the post, it will keep the magwell in the optimal alignment and prevent any movement. 1. Is this a proper solution? 2. is this something I can smear a sliver of JB-weld of Steelstik and sand down to the proper dimension? 3. What do you metallurgist do to fit a small pin in too large an opening?
