  1. Shot a 3 classifier match in Jauary and the results just got put on the USPSA site. I'm currently unclassified and these are production. These are rounded but the results are: 50%, 50% and 24%. With my next classifier will I start in "D" class or can I still make "C" class?
  2. When I was buying Bullseye it was $18 + tax at the LGS. The last lb I bought was in May 2013. I've never ordered powder online so I have never paid the hazmat fees. Seems like you'll have to put a substantial amount of powder together to offset the fee. Ordering just 4lbs adds $7 per lb to your order.
  3. I'm on AA#5 with S&S coated bullets. I got a 8lb jug of it when I was looking for an alternate to Bullseye. The Bullseye was too smokey for the indoor shooting I've been doing.
  4. That's the email I got. Does it only affect revolver or all classes?
  5. I shot 13-5 at my last match and now it is on the remove list. I'm not classified yet in Production. Will this classifier still count since I shot it prior to the notice of removal? If this is not in the proper forum, please move.
  6. The prices at the gun show today were still way out of line. Nobody had a ton for sale but the cheapest bulk pack was $60. Saw one guy who had CCI Stingers for $20/50. I just picked up 3 boxes at Wal-Mart the night before for $20.96 with tax.
  7. Been going on for a couple years. Some .45 moved to SPP and others didn't. Makes handpriming a pain. Have to sort the brass.
  8. This one is one the list for a classifier match at my local club next Sunday. I am unclassified and would really like to start in C class in Production. I've shot three matches so I've got my feet a little wet and I'm not coming in completely blind. Looks like this is a blazer classifier. I have done one table start but any tips on the start would be appreciated. I'm righthanded and figure on starting with the ejection port facing up but I'm not real sure where to stage the initial mag.
  9. Guess I'll have to look for somewhere else to store them. The way that sounds putting them on a shelf would be better than storing them in ammo cans. I could move them to my wood ammo crate.
  10. How should I be storing them?
  11. I pay $34 for CCI SP or $28 for Tula SP locally that includes tax. I think I could get cheaper online but I've been buying a box or two here and there all year and have about 25k in ammo cans and almost another 5k I'm working out of. I stock SP, LP, LPM, SPM, BR SR, and LR. The magnum I only keep an extra 1k as I don't shoot a ton of .357/.44 mag. I've only been reloading for about a year.
  12. Certainly not rich but I do believe in the "proactive" approach. Just taking 9mm as an example, I probably have 1k loaded, another 2k of cases waiting to go into the reloading cycle and enough bullets/primers/powder to load them all if I choose to. I like having brass in reserve. I have a working 1k box of primers on the bench and when I get close to being out I buy another 1k rather than dip into the "proactive" stockpile of 10k in the ammo can. Working out of an 8lb of AA#5 powder with another couple lbs in reserve. Lead I get a box or two from my LGS and keep about 2k unopened in both 125/147gr. My other calibers are similar with less overall stock. Especially the .357/.44 mag brass.
  13. I only started reloading about a year ago. I am used to these prices. I do talk to a long time reloader at my LGS and he remembers when primers were $6-7/1k. That's 30-40 years ago. He claims to still have primers from the early 80's that he is still using.
  14. How much brass, bullets and other supplies do you keep on hand unloaded? And how much do you keep loaded? Do you have every piece of brass in the reloading cycle or do you keep some in reserve? I like to keep a reserve of everything but my son and I only shoot about a thousand rounds per month normally. I generally don't keep more than 500-600 loaded of any one bullet weight. If we start shooting more then I'm not sure how much of a reserve I'll be able to keep.
  15. My LGS has a couple Timney 3lb AR triggers. I am interested in putting a better trigger in my M&P 15-22. We shoot a rimfire match at our USPSA shoots, bowling pin and steel matches. Never really thought of the stock trigger being bad until I started upgrading triggers in my other guns. Will this trigger drop right in? The owner said that he had a couple other customers that had done this but experienced some trouble with the trigger reset. My 15-22 is a couple years old. Also is $195 a decent price for the trigger? Thanks in advance.
  16. Easy for me to go with S&S. They are about an hour from me and my LGS that I drive by everyday carries them. Little more than on the website but I don't have to pay shipping. So far its been a good bullet. The owner shoots USPSA at the same club I do.
  17. Putnam. You shoot at the Sportsmen Club?
  18. Welcome. Where in IL? I'm a bit north of Peoria.
  19. I know what you mean. I was running through a batch of 700 the other night and couldn't get settled in handpriming because of hitting SP brass every so often. Probably ended up with close to 50 cases by time I was done. Too many to toss but now something else to have to keep track of.
  20. Also interested in Tanfoglios. Responding to keep track of thread.
  21. If you mean me with the two loads, I run up Speer 62gr for the AR with a 1:8 twist. Accuracy is good for a 2" group at 100 yards. My bolt gun is a Savage 12 with a 26" barrel in a 1:9 twist. It prefers the 55gr Hornady and my best printed group is .385" at 100 yards. One gun is for hunting and having fun at the range. The other gun is for making tiny holes in paper. The Savage doesn't go hunting. At 12lbs with the scope and a 9oz trigger it is not a hunting gun.
  22. I load 62gr for my AR and 53-55gr for my bolt gun. Both get loaded with Tac. My LGS had some 8lb jugs in the spring and that made the decision pretty easy. Good clean burning powder that meters very well through my Hornady powder drop.
  23. After doing some research I am going to make them myself. I can get a 12' stick of 3/8"x8" of A36 for just under $100 delivered to my shop. I can get 16 8" targets out of the stick. Just about $6 each. Figure I can make some 8" circles, a 6" circle and leave some square to weld into 16"x16" plates. I'll need to figure out what I'm going to mount them to so I can move them around. Probably a 4x4 wood post on some sort of base. I'll want to angle the plates a few degrees to deflect the bullets into the ground. I'll try to post some pics once I get started. Since this is going to be for rimfire primarily I might just go 1/4" thick. Definately won't be shooting these with rifles or magnum handguns. Maybe 9mm, .45 and .38.
  24. Realistically, how hard is it going to be to get one of these for the average guy with no real connections to S&W or a major distributor?
  25. Thanks. Exactly what I am looking for. Might have to see about setting it up ahead of time to practice.
