Ok well I have bought a limited pro although it has yet to come in yet. Is anyone here interested in a limited .45 top end it has a fiber optic front sight. it is like new once the pistol comes in I would be happy to send personal pictures of the top end. Yeah it was a 3 gun match but there was one stage of each gun and the pistol stage put me ahead enough to win!

Well I got my open pistol out to a match today. It was great! I ended up willing the match! Thanks to John and Nealio who helped me on the build.

Its really not the fact that the spring is compressed its the number of decompressions that kill a spring. stretching it will wear it out quite fast, but I just dont deal in hennings base pads anymore.

Right. But I have stated above that that increases spring wear, Also an unpopular opinion but I just dont care for them.

well one was from EAA but the switch on the lathe broke and the lathe ate the barrel it has since been fixed and works great. But then I got the other from Kneelingatlas

I used the little nub and I believe that that is what workingspy is reffering to but for some reason my guess being that the fit of the extended basepads are just looser. Either way there just wasn't enough to hold it on there

I did this and it worked great up until it hit the ground at a match. The sescrew came out and the basepads just aren't as tight so it didn't hold with the button alone. Luckily I only lost the spring I found the basepad. I don't really care for it but it adds more capacity and it was $35.

You're talking about this barrel? I've never shot one, but I imagine it's basically useless I have a few one port comps which make nice barrel weights, but that's it. If I got my hands on one of these barrels I would do one of two things: chop it off at the muzzle, put a sight on it an call it a sight tracker; or heat it up, unscrew the comp and have a custom comp made to fit with three or four ports. The underlying barrel is a 5.25" threaded M15x0.75, so you would need someone familiar with Metric to make the comp (I've found it's easier said than done). Unless you happen to know someone that has a large capable of threading metric

I don't know what you're measuring against, but that's a shorty if there's ever been one! Well I was comparing it to a limited. It is longer than 5 inches so you know. Plus they have the witness .45 with a carry comp. That's a shorty!

I have a mid length open witness and love it! It started as a normal 9mm steel frame witness then I stuck a compact slide, a full length barrel, a comp and an optima red-dot. I absolutely love it!! I just bought a limited pro so I could use the frame as my dedicated open gun frame, but it has yet to come in. Sorry I cant be more help.
