  1. I wish I could have that problem. I just need to find a 9mm cone barrel.
  2. Henning sells the .40 cone barrels for a reasonable price.
  3. I'm guessing the 22 conversion mags wont fit inside the factory limited magwell????
  4. Wow. Never knew they had in store pickup. The store happens to be in Austin, just a 5 minutes drive from where I work.
  5. Yes, that is a great price. It says "Out of Stock" but lets me put it in the cart.
  6. I had almost the exact same scenario, running a 3 die Lee set, and loading for a G35 (LW & factory barrel) and a Tanfo Limited Elite. The factory barrel and Tanfo have no problems whatsoever with my handloads. The LW barrel completely chokes on anything longer than 1.135. Even when I load short (1.125), I still get about 10% misfeeds in the LW barrel. The chamber is just too tight as Bowenbuilt said, and my rounds would go aboout 75% of the way into the chamber and hang. I should really follow his advice and send my barrel in... This makes me a bit hesitant about buying any more LW barrels.
  7. I first started loading my minor loads at 1.155, and didn't have any problem with the K40 mag (with the spacer intact). I'm guessing I could have been on the hairy edge of the mag spring fighting with the round dragging on the inside of the tube. Since then I have shortened my minor loads to 1.125 so that I can shoot them in my G35 as well. I'm wondering if taking the spacers out would have any affect on reliable operation with short OAL? If not, I would take them out in a heartbeat.
  8. I see that I can order the Quinn III from double alpha in holland? P.S. is the 90 degree mount so close that you need to remove your rear sight? I would love to retain the ability to switch between sights and dot.
  9. So who else makes a 90 mount pre-drilled for a Tanfo besides Cheely?? I don't have the precision to do it myself.
  10. Yipes. I've been wanting a Cheely mount, but just assumed I could order it any time!
  11. I noticed that I have to back out the retention screw quite a bit, so that it doesn't hit in the machined slot in the stock magwell. Basically my retention screw only sticks out a couple threads. With gram springs and follower I have only gotten up to 19 rounds, but I have only done minimal filing and perhaps need to take more material off of the inside lip.
  12. P.S. I cut about 1/4" off of the outboard leg, and it now fits like a glove. The bore holder goes all the way in.
  13. P.S. I recently purchased 4 of these with gram followers and springs. I did some file rework and currently have the mags "aging" with 18 rounds in them, and I was struggling to get the 18th one in. I hope that after some more fitting and spring aging I should be able to get 19 without busting a thumb.
  14. I assume these are the +4 extensions when used in.40 I was told that with the gram follower and spring, the K40 combination should hold 19, or is it possible to get 20?
  15. Ahhh perfect solution! Yes, it is the outboard leg that is blocked by the retention lock button. That would be the perfect fix to get the length adjustment to move another quarter inch. I am looking forward to trying this out tonight. Thanks for the idea!
  16. Does anyone here use a Safariland 014? I just purchased one with the intention of using it for limited. I'm shooing a limited elite, which is one of the listed models for this holster. The holster length adjustment seems to bottom out for a 5" barrel, and seems to be too long to accomodate the 4.75" barrel on the limited. I just don't like how the bore holder "nub" only goes part of the way in to the bore face. It seems like the bore could easily pop out, and then the retention mechanism would be the only thing holding the pistol. I'll try to post a picture tonight.
  17. I'm a little bit on the high side for production, but that was just me being overly cautious that it would reliably function in a factory glock for GSSF. I will be shooting a witness limited for steel, so I have much more leeway for tuning. Ideally I would like to stick with the same 180 grain bullets, but I've heard that there is a minimum 750 fps rule for steel. So, I can either load down to the 750 minimum, or drop down to a 155 or so... I'll try some experimenting with the 135pf 180. That will minimize any changes on the reloading bench.
  18. To sum it all up, I load 40 major and 40 minor for production and limited for uspsa, gssf, etc. Should I stick with my 180 grain minor loads (800fps), or should I go with a lighter bullet and keep it at 800 fps? My understanding is no matter what bullet weight I settle with, I will want to keep it at 800fps for safety. thanks! Jacob
  19. I just bought 2 of these from Taylor freelance. I have a 40 elite limited, and with these baseplates I have to slam the mag with the palm of my hand to get it to lock. It looks like it just ever so slightly doesn't fit the factory tanfo magwell. There are some slight scuff marks on the 45 degree cut area that goes up in the magwell where it was making contact. If I have to file the edges down, I guess I should just go all the way and buff off the black finish???
  20. That is a good question. I was really hoping to get a gold team upper in 9mm to play with, as a limited upper in 9mm is not as useful. I'm assuming that the frames are identical between the limited elite and gold team, so why not just pop one on and work up some 9mm major loads...
  21. I did my first range session with a new .40 limited elite. I think i'm hooked! If I eventually go with a Stock II for production, I'll be 100% non-glock. I would really like to have multi-calibers for this gun. I would like to add at least 10mm, and maybe 9mm. I've heard that I can buy an upper assembly, but run the risk of having to get it fitted. I've also heard that the risk of buying just a 10mm barrel is that accuracy may suffer. Does this just mean that I need to get whatever conversion barrel fitted to my slide? Does anyone happen to know what EAA is getting for limited top ends these days?
  22. My local shop in Austin has a new stock II in .40 sitting in the case for $950. They also had a limited in .40, but it now sits in my safe.
  23. Fortunately, yes I do load and look forward to someday working on 9 major. Thanks for the link to the chop shop, that had been very useful for me to get introduced to the Tanfo world. I think I will go for the limited elite in 40, and keep my eye out for a stock II or III for a possible replacement for the G35. I still however will need to try out a shadow before finalizing a production gun change.
