  2. If you're reloading your own brass, it "may" be. A few of my reused brass would hang up on the carousel on my Dillon because the gap was closing up a bit.
  3. They provide a "ship to" normally for customers, but I wanted to make sure they got it in time for me to get it back for the match on the 5th. It all worked out, so I can't complain.
  4. Got the slide back yesterday. They sent it Priority Mail (2 day). I spent $80 to overnight it, and it cost STI $8 w/ins to send it back. Oh well, its done, and they replaced the front sight for some reason. Now I have to go sight it in today.
  5. I'm a Reno resident, previously a Truckee/Tahoe resident of 18 years. Can't say I've ever been interested in "odd" or "unique" guns. That may be hit or miss on every shop's "consignment" case. There is a Willey Brothers shop which "advertises" as unique, but I only went in there once to distribute flyers for our shooting club. As for venues, we have USPSA this Sunday (5th) at the Washoe County Regional Shooting Facility. I am the PR person and USPSA assistant rep for our club. www.Facebook.com\wnplclub There is one indoor range, called Big Shot, but these are boring to me. There is BLM land open for target shooters just a few minutes from me, at Eagle Canyon Road, off of Pyramid Hwy in Spanish Springs.
  6. I shot the Area 1 match this last weekend, and scored 2nd in C Ltd. It was overnighted to STI on Monday, and they said it would be turned around the same day and back in my hands by Friday (today). I have a match this weekend, and it was worth it to spend on the overnight out. Concerned though, as I haven't received any shipping notice for the return trip, and they closed for the holiday on Thursday.
  7. In MS Explorer, I had the same screen. I used CHROME, and it worked. #39.
  8. Mag spring lost its strength? My M&P would do the same when the springs were wearing out. Not enough push to keep the rounds moving up during recoil.
  9. Our MD/RM would not move a muscle (when his turn) if the command was not right.
  10. This is my first 2011. Been shooting M&P's for the last 2 years. Had to play with them a lot more to get them where they needed to be. This is just "tuning" to me, but the ledge is a bit disappointing. Can't do anything about that. Have not been able to reach STI yet.
  11. I picked up my DVC Ltd 40 2 weeks ago. Also had some FTF's. With light loads, some stovepipes. Got an 11 lb progressive spring now, no more ejection issues. Shoots a lot flatter with the lighter spring. 180 gr Xtremes at 940fps. FTF was a combo of 2 things. There was a small dimple in the ramp, and with very slow cycling, it would stop cold. Polished this out, and no more hangs. 2nd issue was seen with it being 1/4" short of battery. Brass was hanging up on the firing pin hole. Did a quick chamfer and polish, and now this is flawless. Both 1.135 OAL and my new setting at 1.175 OAL. Newest thing I have is a little ledge on the breach, which is marking my brass. Doesn't affect function though, just looks odd on my reloads.
  12. Look for AIP Thumb rest. Cheap ($12), get some tiny sheet metals screws, and some fiber washers, and your good to go.
  13. Here's the little step on the breach face.
  14. Curious if this will make my brass unusable?
  15. While developing loads, I noticed that all my expended brass coming from my new gun has this dent in the bottom. Doesn't match the ejector, so must be the slide stripping a new round into the chamber. No FTF problems, no bullet smiley's on the next unfired round. What's up with that? Getting this with 12 lb spring on 180 Xtremes pushing around 940fps, and on some low power 180's at <800 fps. Using a 10 lb spring on the sub-major loads.
  16. Moved my N320 4.7gr w/ 180 xb loads from 1.135 to 1.175. Lost about 50 fps. Trying to find the sweet spot for my new DVC.
  17. I just got a DVC, and the mags would not drop consistently. Just turns out the mag release was catching the magazine body from the button side. A little grinding did the trick.
  18. This is what you need, and it's cheap. LEE cheapo press $35 shipped, RCBS collets (9mm and 40) and puller, $45, and a shell holder for $5. What more do you need?
  19. Adjustables if you want dead on adjustments. I'm old and blind, so I needed the rear fibers. Williams Firesights.
  20. A guy with a lot of experience made the sizing/depriming die contact the baseplate before the handle hits bottom. This was to maximize the amount of case length sizing as much as possible. Only about a 1/2 inch of handle travel was possible after hitting the die. I think this is what is being discussed.
  21. Bkreutz, I also played around with my CORE by adding a comp, and optic. I have a J-Point and find the lens size to be small. I thought about trying a larger optic, but the products are limited for the mount. I thought about a frame mount, but since an M&P has such a loose fit on its "rails", I can't imagine that combination can be accurate at all. Do you have some "tuned" blocks?
  22. I'm new to reloading, having gotten my 650 operational 6 weeks ago. Cranked out 500 rds of .40 using Federal Blue "squishy" primers, and then scored 20k of Winchester SP at a gun show. Loaded about 2000 rds since. Should I assume it's like being DQ'd? Not a matter of IF, but WHEN? The person who set up my setup added a .45 cal brass at the top of the plastic rod, saying it will keep it from penetrating my office ceiling.
  23. Sorry for the delay. Been cruising the Caribbean on the Princess Bacon Boat. The contact point I'm talking about occurs inside the channel where the striker is installed. This is where the safety mechanism does its work. When the trigger bar moves the block up into the slide, the little lug on the striker itself can pass all the way through to hit the primer. This is what I'm talking about. If it glances it because the shorten trigger motion does push the blocker up far enough, the striker gets slowed down, or doesn't even make contact.
