  1. i don't even see the gun listed anymore. Has it been dropped?? Looks like they're available at J&G Sales. i think JG is still sitting on a few. i got mine a few weeks ago and its serial # ooo7x. i saw a post on another forum that showed serial 00201. I speculate that its not been a big seller for them. If century really is dropping them, i hope another company steps up and market it better than they have
  2. i have been a user of 147 for a long time. I have read many people say that they move the slide sluggishly, and many of them go to a 124 to get more slide zip. i was thinking of trying either a 124 or 135. if i use the 135, will there be much difference from a 147? Or should i just get 124 and be done?
  3. i don't even see the gun listed anymore. Has it been dropped?? Looks like they're available at J&G Sales. yes they are still. i am more concerned if century arms, which is the master distributer in the US, drops them. where would we get parts and service if they do.
  4. I run it when i shoot CDP. Have no problem keeping up with the other CDP shooters. Never had a bobble with it, unlike many of the 1911's i have seen in comp. Can reload fast with the double stack mag. too bad i can't run it in single stack matches
  5. i don't even see the gun listed anymore. Has it been dropped??
  6. The only way to be sure is a chrono, which i have. I can bet you dinner 4.3 will not make 130 pf. See if you can borrow a chrono or buy one. thye are about $100 and its easier to reload with one. I have gone through about 24# of WST the past couple of years.
  7. i have noticed in the past that when i clean a bore really clean with a brush, the first few shots impact differently than as sighted in. So is this just my imagination, or do handgun bores need a few fouling shots before they settle down?
  8. start at 4.7. even at that, you might not make pf. my load with a 124 fmj is 5.1 wst and it gets me 1085 fps
  9. So i got my Dawson sights this weekend. just installed them. I think i did them correctly. what seems odd is that the front sight base does not completely cover the original base slot. there is an exposed gap. I ordered these as for the GP6. Are the Gp6 sights different?? Or is this just how Dawson made them? or did I install them wrong
  10. Is this comp stuff, or just replacement parts? Replacement sear, just in case I mess up if I attempt to polish it. Trigger is factory with less curve. I really love the Target trigger, and have them in my X-Caliburs. The face of the trigger is flatter so it feels lighter. The slightly square edge is easier to index on as I press out on the first DA shot. When installing the Target Trigger, you may have to snip a tiny bit off the tip of the trigger return spring. The arm that goes under the trigger pivot pin can protrude about 1/16th inch and prevent the trigger from traveling back far enough to release the sear. Unless you have something like the Powers Custom sear and hammer jig to hold the sear and hammer in the right position, I don't recommend touching those parts. If you have the tools and skills to hold the parts true and stone the engagement surfaces to an even finer polish, have fun. Just understand that if you shorten the sears working edge, you increase the weight. If you cause the sear to sit closer to the hammer, you will lose a working safety in the process. will shortening the hammer spring, or replacing it with a less powerful one bring down the D/A and S/A as they do in a CZ??
  11. Everyone's hand is different. I've been shooting Glocks for years and can never get them to shoot centered unless I bump the sight to the right. Other people shoot the same gun and they hit to the right. i think its because when i was younger I broke my trigger finger, and when it healed, instead of going straight back when I close it, it closes at an angle. Some people just bump the rear sight and live with it. some people dump them and move to something else. It a choice you need to make.
  12. went shooting with it today and had the same problems with the 147TC ammo again. I think they are short chambered like the CZ'S. Unfortunately i have a few thousand of the same loaded. So my option is to either use RN bullets or get the chamber reamed out a little, like many do to CZ's. I will probably do the latter. the sight really need replacing. tHe .105 rear with the .120 front really leaves no light bars at all, making it for me, hard to sight. Gonna order them Dawsons come Monday. After I get it all done, its gonna be my production gun next year.
  13. its not a feeding problem, but a chambering problem. its just the chamber is probably tighter than i am used to
  14. they get stuck in the chamber. in the past this has been to me, an indicator of a short lead or tight chamber.
  15. i am using 147gr moly @ 1.12. have shot thousands of these through other guns with no issues. I have the mags with black followers. the mags will lock in if I hit them hard enough. If i just insert them they will not, but if I rock them forward they will click in place.
  16. got to shoot it and it worked great. the DA/SA needed a little getting used to though. I had a couple of instances of a round not chambering correctly. Took the round out and shot it in my MP and it worked. Are the chambers in the k100 tight?? Also, I notice that my mags have a square cutout. I have seen other pix of k100 mags and they had a round cutout. Another interesting this i found out is that my mags need a slight forward push in the magwell to lock them in place. Is this normal? Also, my serial # is 1k0007x. I saw a post from last year on the k100 and it showed a pix of 1k00200. Would this mean that I got and old one and JG is has sold hardly any of them?
  17. so i was able to inspect it more last night and take it apart for a good cleaning and oiling. quite a bit of storage oil. I measured the S/A at 4# and the D/A at 8 1/4 # off my Lyman electronic scale. I was able to get 17rd into the mags with assistance of my uplula. I took a look in the box and notice there was a spare front sight in there. anyone know if the roll pin size? I tried it in my universal holster, which is a Comp Tac kydex made for a G21. Its one of the best buy i have ever gotten. Paid $5 for it at a gun show. I use it for my MP9/45 and Glock 17/22. Put in in there and it fit perfect also. I will use it today till i find something else. The more I handle the gun, the more i like it. Off to IDPA now to wring it out.
  18. pick up my gun today. kudos to JG in AZ for fast shipping. my first impression is this is a smooth gun. it fits my hand great. I ended up changing the grip that was installed for a different one and it points great. They are a pain to change though. The S/A trigger is pretty good and the reset short. The D/A was a little heavier than what I was expecting. I only have one other D/A gun and its a Kahr CW and the Kahr is lighter and smoother. It came with 2 mags. One mag would not drop clean. it would drop halfway and drag somewhere. the mags needed a little more persuadsion than I am used to, but will probably smooth out with use. The recoil spring seem kinda short compared to what i am used to. The take down took a little getting used to,but its easy to learn. The sights are ok. at least they are metal. I need to find springs and sights for it now. Are there lighter mainsprings available to bring the D/A down? I am going to look through my holster stash and see if there is a holster that will fit. I have an IDPA match tommorow and hope to try it out blind and see how it works. All in all, its a great gun.
  19. i should be picking mine up this week. i am looking for sights. i see the Dawson ones, but I saw also that GP offers a line also. Where can i find these? Also, what is the stock height?
  20. Front sight height on a full size/ compact are .165. .185 on the pro models. I would order a .150 for the hit to be at the top of the blade
  21. what would you consider the minimum amount of mags needed on a belt for prod and limited
  22. Do you mean the pad part or the whole lever itself?i think the pin will come out if the slide stop was not there
  23. This! I knew that certification would bring me more than fame and glory! I thought it was a rule. All the places i shoot at (PNW) do it.
  24. Ok.Thanks for the replies Now here is another question. Do uncertified Ro's have the same power to DQ shooter for things like 180 violations and unsafe gun handling??
