  1. I have just started using a mix of 5w-30 synthetic motor oil and clear, food grade, Teflon grease. It seems to fit the bill for me, it doesn't dry out and fling off like normal oil and it isn't as thick a grease by itself. I have taken my pistol apart after matches and it looks as wet as when I applied it. Just mix it to your desired consistency and your good to go.
  2. I use the Magpul UBR. I'm 6' tall and it seems to fit me well. If you are using a scope, it locks up solid. It is a little on the heavier side but it balances really well.
  3. If you don't want to send it in to STI, order another front sight from Dawson. I have fitted a few and it isn't terribly hard, just a little time consuming. As other have mentioned, Dave Dawson has an excellent YouTube video on fitting sights. His video goes through the process step by step. If you do decide to send it in to STI, contact them first, they will send you a return shipping label free of charge to you. It will take them 4-8 weeks to get your gun fixed, but they will take care of you. I have sent one in myself, it is pretty easy to do, they will send you instructions walking you through the process, good luck on whatever you decide to do.
  4. I have two M&P's (4.25" 5"), they both do the exact same thing, you should be fine.
  5. Fishn, I had the same problem as you with the SSS brass magwell and TF 140's, (ESP, I recall?). I opted to sand out the inside of the magwell instead, I had problems seating mags without out a lot of force. It seems the mounting system with these magwells is prone to variances between guns.
  6. I have one on my Edge and it is so much easier to disassemble compared the the recoilmaster. It isn't as easy to do on a full dust covered gun but it is better, nothing special required to push the holding mechanism down.
  7. I would do as many others here suggested, try to borrow equipment until you decide what works for you. I wish I would have followed my own advice, I spent unneeded money on things I thought would work, only to end up selling it or just putting it in the closet to never be used again. Equipment in this game can start adding up quickly, especially when outfitting 3 guns.
  8. Reloadingunlimited.com has a few powders in stock if anyone is interested, though, its a little pricey.
  9. Thanks everyone, that's pretty much what I gathered as well, I'll just keep looking around for something more suitable.
  10. Hello all, The question that I have is can you use a 5 inch slide on a pro carry frame, aka commander size. I have looked everywhere for a solid answer on the topic but with zero luck so far. I understand that there will be fitting involved but I just dont want it to turn into a project that could never work. The reason is I would like to make it into a 9mm for PPC type shooting utilizing the single stack frame. Your answers will be greatly appreciated.
  11. Does anybody know if the 22" 1100 Competition Master barrel that Midway sells has a screw in bead or is it pressed in? For either one what is the best way to get it out without breaking it off? Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks that is good to know, I just ordered 4 of them. I don't have the barrel yet, its still enroute with UPS, so I have no way to know for sure.
  13. The CDNN chokes that you guys are talking about wouldn't happen to be the Pro-Bore style would they? I have a question myself about those as well. Does anybody know if they fit the 22" 1100 vent rib competition master barrels?
