  1. Primary Arms has the Foxtrot Mike complete AR-9 uppers on sale for a super good price. I built a sweet 5” 3 lug barreled SBR with a suppressor inside the hand guard. I purchased the FM 16” complete upper for $318! Gonna just throw it on my SBR lower when I wanna shoot unsuppressed. Maybe even try it in a match. Also Brownells has 10% off over $300 with free shipping. They have the FM uppers our sale too, as well of lots o AR9 parts. The 16” FM upper from Primary Arms is gonna be tough to beat though. 2. Thanks. Looking to avoid CCI type hardness. My experience is same as yours. CCIs are fine with factory firing pin springs, but any lighter and lots of FTF. Winchester’s go off if your look at them sternly. [emoji846] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I’ve never used the Fiocchi. How do they compare to other primers? Are they similar to any other popular brand? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Just got an email from TJ Conevera. All jacketed pistol bullets 8% off this weekend. I’ve purchased from them before in the past when they had good sales. Prices just haven’t been competitive lately. Haven’t run the numbers yet, but maybe the sale helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It’s not components, but Titan Reloading is having a sale on all bench mounted presses. 10% off 23rd-26th From the email: “Add the press you want into our website shopping cart. Then go to 'View Cart' rather than 'Checkout' to use coupon code BFCM” titanreloading.com I’ve been wanting to add a Dillon 650 to my bench. Gonna finally do it this weekend. 6. I know it’s been covered ad nauseam, but if you buy 2k or more from Precision Delta you can get JHP for about $2-$3 more than plated. And that’s $2-$3 total, not per 1000. If you get FMJ’s it’s almost a wash. Once you go JHP, you never go back. I believe PD has %5 off right now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hiperfire states the 24c is very particular about which safeties will and will not work with their trigger. I can’t tell from reading your post which safety you ended up going with after ruining the JP. Maybe I missed it. I don’t remember exactly where it was but if you search it up (as my son says) there is a list of which safeties will and will not work with the 24c. I have used both the Joe Bob’s regular and short throw ambi safety with success as they are modeled after the milspec safety. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Weird. I find the CCI’s to be the hardest of the bunch [emoji1743][emoji3603] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Brownells has Hiperfire Hipertouch triggers on sale. https://www.brownells.com/manufacturers/hiperfire/index.htm?utm_medium=email&utm_source=marketo&utm_campaign=2018_10_01_hiperfire&utm_content=rifle&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiWkdWa016RTJOVFl6WmpSbSIsInQiOiJnU0RiMHpudmJOU1N0VWJJbzZBQm1pN0lndFlqSTZZR29EZ3BkVVYwK09jYm8xM0dZVU05R2lsVWFJb0gyeHpLdHZod0VQRGpXdXBVY1NpUWx3dkVhVVM5UHJwZm1SK2pyVE15b2loUXlHaEZSdWpDKzR0cTdkSTBmc2tXZG0rdSJ9 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thank you. That’s what I seem to recall, but I didn’t spend a whole lot of time working with it. Appreciate it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. I have 8lbs of HS-6. Experimented a little. Maybe I should go back and have a look again. Anyone know how it compares to Silhouette in terms of running the comp? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I ask the same thing about Silhouette. Clean. “Work good, last long time.” Everyone has their pet powder I guess. I went with Silhouette several years ago when I started loading for major cause it’s all I could find. I heard WAC was the powder for 9mm major. Just couldn’t find it. But in the end Silhouette worked so well, and it was cheap and plentiful, I stuck with it. I run 6.8grs with a PD JHP at 1.070”, which people insist should be blowing up my gun. But I get 1380 FPS with a 6.8 SD over the course of 20 test round across the chrono. No flattened primers or deformed cases, at all. Low SD’s over lotsa rounds tell me no crazy pressure spikes, right? On a side note. I am going to reem the throat of my Lonewolf barrel so I can “stretch” my COAL out a little. But I will of course add more powder to keep the velocity up And hopefully increase the efficiency of the comp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I built a 9MM SBR a couple years ago. PSA lower (2016 so not sure if it’s old style or new). AeroPrecision upper. I read through this whole post before buying any parts. Went with Hyperfire 24C. It was expensive, but it was the only trigger that I couldn’t find one “didn’t work” report on. Some people didn’t necessarily like it, but it seemed to always work. 2 years and thousands of rounds later, not a single issue. I have one of the “fit it yourself” JP triggers in an AR. EXCELLENT trigger, but I can run Hyperfire way faster. No comparison. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Glock factory barrel throats are much “deeper”. It may or may not be ideal? The only way to know for sure Is to open the throat and try longer COAL in combo with higher powered charges. But for the time being, the pistol shoots well. Power factor is good. SD/ES are extremely low. I will say my G34 with LW barrel and the open throat is a tack driver, but I’ve still found the best accuracy with shorter COAL. In the thousands of rounds of experimentation I’ve done the only instance I’ve found where longer COAL worked better was in my 45 auto load. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Not the mags. Barrel throat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Correct. Running a Lonewolf barrel. Very short throat. I have another LW barrel I had reemed out, but haven’t done this one. I’m sure I could open the throat, stretch it out a little, and get some more powder in there which may help the comp, but it works well for now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  18. The do call their bullets “CMJ” which is technically incorrect. But the wording doesn’t affect the quality of the product. I don’t shoot plated bullets any more. But I have used every brand of plated bullet, and my personal experience was that Frontier were the best of the bunch. Far and away the most consistent in terms of length and weight. 19. I love 6.8 grs Silhouette. Glock 17 Open Gun. 124gr Precision Delta. 1.070” COAL. 1378 FPS. 6.4 SD / 24 ES. 171 PF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Loading on a Dillon 550. Precision Delta JHP. Mixed once fired brass. Lee dies. Looking for 1.115. Get 1.110 to 1.120. Good enough for pistol work. Find the Lee Factory Crimp Die really helps with mixed brass. Especially the CBC and Aguila brass! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Right?!?!? And like I said, I probably shouldn’t care. Why should if bother me if some one says they can walk on water? But the chimpanzee in me just wants to shout “BS!” and jump up and down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. No. I’m not a 100% sure he was talking about an open gun, but the conversation was centered around loading for an open gun. I just went back to check, because maybe I was wrong, and it looks like the posts in question have been deleted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Repetition. Appendix is doable. No way I could do it from 4 o’clock. I think live fire helps too. Dry fire is good, but there’s just something about a gun going bang that you can’t reproduce. I don’t think I would be as proficient as I am with out actually shooting as much as do, and to be totally honest, it’s not like I can do do that every single time without fail. I’m human. Sometimes I suck. Some days are better than others. Just like with everything else, some days your A game shows up, and some times it doesn’t. With the open gun race holster or OWB I’m pretty consistently a second or under. It’s a depreciating asset for sure. If I go a week or two with out drawing and or shooting it can take some work to get back in the groove. I also know there is also no way I could shoot as much as do without reloading. Nor could I shoot as much as I do if I didn’t live 5 minutes from the Scottsdale Gun Club, or 30 minutes from the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. Or 25 minutes from open desert. Arizona is an awesome state to be a firearms enthusiast. Thanks for the feedback and information. Much appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Jack, The post I was referring to was from a day or so ago on this forum and said: “I have shot over 1000 rounds of coated lead through this comp and cleaned it once. All you need is a butane torch and a carbon scrapper. Takes 15 minutes. And I shoot 1" groups at 25 yards free standing. I'll keep shooting my coated lead. “ I took free standing to mean off hand / unsupported. I can’t specifically point to other posts right this second without an exhaustive search (and I’m too lazy to do that), but I know for a fact I’ve seen this claim before. It may have been this forum, or may have been others. I can’t say for sure. I can say for sure that I’ve seen the claim enough to know that it irks me. Not sure why it gets my goat [emoji238]? I know it’s silly and petty. After all, who cares what some one claims they can or can’t do? I’ll let it go now... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
