  1. 1230 FPS with Silhouette XTP G19 Just shy of 1300 FPS AA7 XTP G19
  2. Hope that cures it. I just processed 8300 5.56 case and went through 2 of them.
  3. Don’t swim after you eat. You’ll drown. Don’t load your own SD ammo. You’ll spend the rest of your life in prison. Don’t cross your eyes. You’ll get slapped on the back and stay that way.
  4. I use a 650, but I do use an M die in station 1 to expand neck slightly for all .223/5.56 and 300 BO rounds I load. Works brilliantly.
  5. 6.1 grs of Silhouette will get you between 1200-1230 FPS. Depending on bullet used and length of barrel. One of my favorites. I use this powder to make 9MM major ammo so... 8.3 grs of AA#7 will get you 1250-1300 FPS. Again depending on bullet and length of barrel. I really like this powder for 147 gr JHPs. Seat JHP 1.090”-1.100”. Keeps empty space in case to minimum and aids in reliability. I would say use at your own risk but....duh.
  6. It’s the ejector spring. That black spring that goes over the shell plate screw. If they bend just a tiny bit, which oddly enough happens if a cartridge happens to stick on the way out, then the ejector spring just won’t sit quite right and you’ll have issues. I just went to Dillon the other day and grabbed a handful of them. If you’re out of state call them and have them send you a couple. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Who’s your dealer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Spend it quick. Before the inflation sets in. I have more guns and reloading supplies than I might ever be able to use. Maybe invest some in precious metals, or might even try and get dabble in crypto.
  9. Seems like there are many different date stamps with the same lot number. I take it the lot number is what makes the difference and not the date???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Which are the different lots you have again? And which lot gave you which results? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Okay. Maybe a little hyperbolic. But for sure several decades worth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Just curious bullet, coal, and gun. I’m looking at changing from Silhouette to SWMP in my G17 Open gun. I’m at 7.8grs Silhouette at 1.155” with an Everglades/RMR 115JHP. That gives me right around 1475FPS. 170ish PF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. We really can’t over emphasize this enough. I have a lifetime supply of primers. Several decades worth of powder. And at least a couple years worth of projectiles. And I didn’t come by that stash overnight. Or by hoarding. I came by it little by little over a decade of being prepared, so no matter what I can do the thing I love, and no matter what (although I doubt it will ever come to that) I can protect my family and myself.
  14. I still feel pretty much the same. I probably shouldn’t have made my comment about “always and never”. I know better. Probably too many variables. Whatever you feel safe with. But I’ve had similar experiences with many different powders, bullets, and guns where I shortened a load to fine tune it without changing the load and I haven’t had an issue. And I’ve read about about many others on here with same experience. The example of the 9mm major load was just the most extreme one. And again humans aren’t scientific instruments, but I’m willing to bet most people have had a round go off and though “wow, that was hot”. I’ve never had that moment from a shortened cartridge. And as an aside back to your original post. I run all (except open) JHP from all the major manufactures at 1.110-1.095”. My practices loads are all in the 130-140 FP range with titegroup, HP38, and similarly fast powders. And my practice HD rounds are in the 150+ PF range with everything from TG to Silhouette to HS-6 to Power Pistol.
  15. Correlation does not equal causation. Not saying your wrong. Just a lot of factors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Stand corrected. Maybe linear wasn’t the right word. So how can you shorten a load 0.060” and only get a 10 FPS increase while increasing pressure that much? What’s the relationship of pressure to fps? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. [emoji1303] Good luck. We’re all counting on you. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Some of rounds were shortened over 0.060” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You can’t ever say always or never, but I doubt you’ll even notice the difference. The relationship of COAL to Pressure is not linear. Not even close. I load 7.8grs silhouette to 1.155” for my Glock 17 major. I needed to shorten some to 1.130” to try out Taylor Tactical’s 170MM mag extension. I had my son do it for me, and the seating die came loose during the process and some of them ended up 1.100” or shorter. It made almost zero difference. The super short rounds registered 10FPS difference or less. I’m not alone in this finding. There have been several others on here who have basically found the same to be true with different powders, loads, and guns. Do a little experiment yourself. I think the results will surprise you. 20. This [emoji1318] Just covered it in another 9MM thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. No it won’t. I load 7.8grs silhouette to 1.155” for my Glock 17 major. I needed to shorten some to 1.130” to try out Taylor Tactical’s 170MM mag extension. 22. Another option is that set of 3 brass sorting trays. You can get the 380 plate that goes into the largest try. They aren’t cheap, but they last. I’ve used mine weekly for 10 years at least. And they work. I can sort a 5 gallon bucket of mixed brass in about 20-25 minutes. https://www.shellsorter.com
  23. Get the Lee dies. I had Dillon and sold them all. I use Lee U (same as EGW) dies for all pistol calibers on my 650. Lee FCD comes with the 4 die Lee sets. You can order them off AMAZON. If you want the Lee U die it must be purchased separate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Agreed. The Mr Bulllet for my 650 was in fact one of the best investments I’ve made. I have that silly little Vibra-prime from Frankford. Love it. I have 10 spare tubes, large and small. I can fill em quick and then I have hangers for them on my case feeder from inline fabrication. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yup. Just like the Fed and poopy economic policies lead to bomb bust every 10 years...every few years something leads to a bomb bust cycle in firearms/ammo/reloading/etc. I’ll never be caught with my pants down. Lessons learned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
