  1. Now if only DW would put out some new Revos.....
  2. So, I have a new 625 JM for IDPA after catching the revolver bug shooting my 10-6 is SSR. Now what mods/upgrades should I be looking at for it?

    P-09?

I've talked myself into and out of a P09 about a thousand times now. I really like my P07 and have run it (stock) in SSP in IDPA and never felt under gunned. Feels much faster then my 75 Shadow, and I expect the P09 would be very similar.
  4. This is my first year shooting, but I played in Esp Jan - Oct. After I didn't do as well as I wanted in TX in oct (5th place esp SS) I decided to mix it up with SSR and CDP for the rest of the year. Recently shoot SSP with one of the carry guns too. I expect I will focus on one divison/gun for most of next year with a few trips into other divisions to relax/have fun if I start to get burnt out or need to relax some.
  5. My CDP gun for next year is a CZ 97, Having a blast with it
  6. Entropic, I had the same thing thing happen to me when doing a 2 reload 2 drill at a Bob Vogel class this year
  7. To the OP if he s still paying attention. If you ave te DA/SA gun, shoot it because you have it. See if you can borrow some other guns to shoot a match or two after you get the hang of things ad decide if you want to change. Fr what it's worth, I started with an XDm because it's what I had. Now I shoot a CZ of some sort or another for every auto division. Dry fire has made it so I barely notice that DA shot, or I just shooter cocked ad locked in ESP or CDP. Have fun!
  8. I went with a 75 shadow after a few IDPA matches (when I decided I was going to keep doing this) because I didn't want to work it over myself, being less experienced with working on guns. CZC did a great job with it, and I regret nothing. they worked over a 97b for me recently, because I wanted to star shooting it in IDPA from the day it arrived. Once again great work. Now tat I'm more familiar with the guns my winter project is going to e working on a used sp01 shadow picked up. CZs are a bit of an addiction. Since I got my first 83 in 9x18 it seems I can't stop buying them
  9. Depends on what you consider BUG to be. By the current rules, despite the name, it seems to be for actual carry guns. I expect we will see some changes or clarifications in the next year. For what it's worth, I generally shoot one of my carry guns either a CZ P07 or a ruger LCR depending on my mood.
  10. Matt, do you mind sharing details on what you built?
  11. Is there a break down of guns used anywhere?
  12. I don't see a weight limit in the rules, but I haven't finished my coffee yet . I use my CZ P07 or a ruger LCR usually. I've also used my CZ 83 in 9x18. Gaming wise I'd think a 3inch k frame for similar for Revo, auto I'd stick with a CZ but that's personal preference. SA XDm 3.8 or S&W compact would seem good too.
  13. I just got one from CZC with some work done on it. Using it for IDPA and love it.
  14. What do you have on there now? Mine came with the Xs bib dot night sight on the front and works great, might be worth looking into.
  15. All of my (75 shadow, sp01 shadow, and 97b) do this pretty much 90%+ of the time. Like CZhase I always plan on it not happening. Haven't shot the p07 enough yet to recall if it does it too.
  16. Custom shop is just doing sights and trigger work. Friend got his, with no work done, and its at 41.something oz. (edit: that is with mag)
  17. Well, I asked CZ Custom to make sure the 97 made 43 oz before they did any work on it, It should be at my ffl on Wed so I'll keep people updated.
  18. I have a CZ 97 on the way...so soonish I will be doing this as planned
  19. Any suggestions for what would make weight? ....and might actually be find-able?
  20. Yep, by extending the ssp limit to 43oz you can take advantage of the SSP to ESP rule and use the the SP01 in both divisions. Also you can use the 97 in CDP...Now if only I could find one at a price I'm willing to pay
  21. When I first looked into getting a CZ I decided on a CZ 75 Shadow Target with the short reset from CZC for pretty much the same reason. Can shoot in in idpa ssp/esp and USPSA production. I regret nothing. However with the rule changes to IDPA the SP01 Shadow is also an option. I have both - Personally I don't see much difference with the heavier SP01 that makes me want to change to it on Oct 1.
  22. Is it possible to make a Witness Elite Match in 45acp make 43oz for IDPA? Thinking of shooting CDP next year, and an EAA or a CZ 97 are on my short list.
  23. I'm thinking about shooting CDP next year and taking advantage of being able to shoot one gun at a classifier for multiple divisions. So I'm looking for a SSP legal 45. I currently shoot a CZ 75 shadow in ESP and woud like to stick with something similar, not a polymer like an XDm or M&P though. Thinking of a CZ 97 or a Tangfoglio, but thought I'd crowd source for any other ideas. Thanks!
  24. A note on grip strength, a lot of shooters train for maximum grip strength because we don't spend a lot of time needing the grip strength relative to other sports that require grip. Do you do any grip strength training? I alternate between Max strength training and lower weight/higher reps, mainly because I'm also increasing grip strength for judo, but I think it helps me later on in matches. Although that may be all in my head
