  1. Personal bests in all three guns, but still not as good as I would have liked. Learned lots though and know what to work on!
  2. There were several people that shot CO guns at steel nationals this weekend. Not sure if they were registered as such or not, but when the results get posted you might check.
  3. Helped set up the range today. Things are looking good. Love this range, it's a great layout for the match. Should be overcast most of the week with some rain in the forecast. Looking forward to it!
  4. 115 blue bullet with 4.8g of Silhouette Super soft and runs perfect in my Steelmaster with a recoilmaster
  5. Squad lists are on the webpage under match information.
  6. One week away. Getting excited! Who else is going?
  7. We know there isn't anyone at head quarters that cares about steel challenge so it would be nice to have somebody, anybody, that does and will follow up on things...
  8. My desire to shoot outweighs my desire to let politics, policy, and opinions keep me from it. To each their own. You have to decide what your threshold is, and realize that other's might be different. The same type of discussion was had around the Steel Challenge being held in California. I realize some wouldn't go for political reasons, so be it. I chose to go because I wanted to shoot more than I wanted to make a point. And before anyone throws the mag capacity issue out there, it's still a choice. I won't argue with anyone that chooses not to go if it's not a sanctioned SC match. It's up to each of us to think for ourselves and decide where the line is. My line happens to be closer to the firing line than the parking lot:)
  9. Ended up with 115s with 4.8g of silhouette. Crazy soft and really like the faster slide movement. Tried the 147s and felt really sluggish.
  10. What's frustrating is the section was titled "steel challenge classification system..." and they don't even mention the new system and if it will go into effect. After reading thru the full minutes I wonder if it will go into effect with the new website and more frequent classification updates.
  11. That's the one. For some reason they didn't put the entry form or any kind of links to this year's registration.
  12. Not sure why they didn't post it to the website, but registration is open. If you want an entry form pm me and I will email one to you. Interesting thing is the email to what I assume was people that shot last year came from Manny Bragg....
  13. I have. I really didn't learn much other than some guy is usually the 1 out of 50 people that always complains or something.... Haha! That's pretty funny. Do you really expect anything different on an Internet forum:) I just like the idea of finally having classifications for each different division.
  14. Read the entire thread and it will answer your question
  15. I use a rosin bag like pitchers use. Does the hand out easy and isn't messy. Keep a small one in my pocket and grab it a couple times before I shot and good to go.
  16. Anyone try a 90 mount with a thumbrest? I'm finding it really tough to be consistent with getting my grip since my thumb has to slip into the narrow gap between the two. I have a Steelmaster so probably need to try to keep the 90 mount to keep it running good. Might have to give up the thumbrest though. I have an adjustable one and have tried a bunch of different positions. Has anyone else been able to be successful getting it more consistent? I'm willing to put in the time if I think it's doable!
  17. I assume no one means any disrespect to anyone. Let's not get too far off topic and stay away from personal issues. Anyone that has times to contribute to the discussion, please feel free! Thanks for everyone's input so far.
  18. I laugh at myself all the time:) It's not any easier shooting from a chair. The advantage that people would pick up from the no time penalty on outer limits would be minor compared to the cost on the other stages. Shooting seated limits your transition swings, it's harder to control recoil, etc. It takes a lot more core strength to offset the loss of lower body strength and the ability to push with your legs and drive from the hips. Lots of people have tried sitting down with me at the club. They all stand back up pretty quick:)
  19. My club loves doing USPSA stages in a hospital wheelchair I bought them at a garage sale! Gives me a chance to laugh at them every once in a while:) No penalty last year at Steel Nats. Mike didn't want to give me one even when I asked him too. He said if I broke 100 he would consider it. Well, my 89 in rimfire was a good argument. I will have one this year for sure. That's part of the reason I'm trying to get this figured out now so I can go in with data and some justification for the penalty I ask for.
  20. I prefer not to leave it up to MDs. Standardize it in the rules so everyone is playing on a level field, no matter the range or match.
  21. I personally do not think it's fair to not take a penalty of any sort. Everyone else has to move and take the extra time to do that, why shouldn't I?. I want to be competitive and compete against the best, and if I have a 4.5-6 second advantage just because I'm in a wheelchair, that's not right to me. I'm finishing in the top 10 or so now at national level matches. It would be a pretty hollow victory if I won and knew that I automatically had a big advantage over everyone else!. Actually, doesn't matter if I'm first or last, I want what I deserve, not what someone is willing to give me.
  22. I watched all of the super squad shoot Outer Limits at the World Shoot. The top guys that were in contention didn't have a great stage. It was REALLY close going into that last stage and they were pushing hard. Quite a few missed shots and stutter steps in and out of the boxes. Might be better to take the times from the ranking/classification page on the Steel Challenge website to see what is possible at different classification levels.
  23. Does it run good? Then no. I'm running a Steelmaster with the original recoil master in it and it runs awesome. Had quite a few rounds through it too. Current steel loads are running under 120pf and don't have any issues at all. I'm going to get another guide rod and springs but that will be for shooting 9major with it. Other than that I'll stick with the recoil master.
  24. A 1.5 second penalty per run added on would have meant I finished 11th overall in Rimfire vs 9th so still happy with that:)
