    Magazine issue

It sounds like you were putting it away with the mag loaded? If always stored loaded the springs will go out faster than when stored empty, so I would guess that is the issue!
  2. I don't have a picture of mine, but Tac-Tech-Cal has a nice design with plenty of space for the front sight. It is triangular on the top, so it has a smooth draw with no sight hang up.
  3. Did Marvin end up being able to shave some weight off of the handguard? Just curious as to where/how if he did!
  4. And does armor all on the mags end up picking up dirt, or do they stay pretty clean?
  5. I use Armor All on used mags that stick. I also have one of those silicone gun wipes in my stage bag if I get a sticky on at a match. What kind of ground is your range?? Ours is a really light, dusty clay/sand/gravel mix (where limited nationals is held) and I'm wondering if the Armor All ends up picking up lots of dirt!
  6. I couldn't agree more! I've been very impressed with DAA, and have purchased anything I can through them.
  7. If you were to build a shotgun from the ground up and choose a barrel length for current classes (~14 round tubes) what length would you go with? In my mind, I see getting in and out of ports and small spaces being irrelevant, as the tube is the length that it is. Weight may be an issue with overswing, but how much weight does a barrel really add compared to a loaded tube? Just curious what people think may be the new ideal length.
  8. The loose ones won't work (ask me how I know!). The tighter ones won't work either without modification or some serious tension. I didn't purchase mine through DAA, but Saul was still more than willing to send out the Glock size shims. Give him a call or email and they will most likely be sent out free of charge that day. As a temporary fix, you can sand down the thicker ones on a belt sander. If you look at the back of the spacer, you'll see the thickness of the spacer, followed by a sort of "frame" system (thicker spots) on the back. When you sand them down, you will need to do so until there is only a very very thin amount of plastic left where it was thick. Kind of hard to explain, but basically sand until right before you would have a skeleton looking spacer. I will see if I can find my old ones and post pics. I'll also measure my correctly sized ones if you need it.
  9. Jesse - Why the 18"-20" length? Just curious what the extra length gains vs the ability to be quick around corners and weight savings. It seems most of the matches I've seen or shot have been a max of 300 yards or so.
  10. Try www.briankevinnelson.com and you should be able to find the article!
  11. Brian Nelson (shooter at our club, and junior champ) did a write-up on the topic! Take a look at his review of the current "3 gun" models offered by the major companies. I am in no way responsible for what he says if you disagree, just thought I'd share a review of a few of them!! briankevinnelson.com/so-you-want-to-offer-a-3-gun-rifle-1321‎
  12. Your diet may be the big picture issue but your RO really f*cked you there. ? It's not the RO's responsibilty to tell a shooter how to Make ready. In fact, in USPSA, the RO is not allowed to mention it. I'm curious about this...why can't an RO mention it? If it is prior to beginning the course of fire, it's not a form of coaching ?? Please educate me!!
  13. I received a Glockstore catalog, and it looks just like the one in there too. Strange thing was, I didn't see it on their website when I went looking for it? Either way, I like it whatever it is!!
  14. I saw just the title of this post and knew it was you! What did you end up going with?? Or do I have to wait until tomorrow to see it?
  15. Also might we worth checking out Tac-Tech-Cal. I'm not sure if he's setup as a vendor on here, but he's a USPSA shooter, and CZ fanatic that makes some top notch holsters!
  16. Not sure I'm reading this right...If the mags didn't drop without the magwell, why would it be the magwell that needs to be changed out?
  17. Pro Gun Club (Silverstate Practical) I believe does 3G matches every Sunday as well!
  18. TTI by a long shot. I have two Arredondo's and they are used only for barneying (sp?) a round, or in case things go really wrong. Disassembly is a pain without the tool. I've used the Dawson's as well, and don't like them as much as the Taran's. One drawback is the magwell; depending on which you have (like the ZEV) you may need to do a little modification to make them fit just right without driving the pin out. Pretty easy fix though!!
  19. I had this problem in two different mags with two different Glocks. I suppose it's a drawback to running plastic parts! To cure mine permanently, I disassembled a mag, and inserted the actual magazine (without any type of basepad) it upside down into the magwell. It is a tight fight, but should go in with a little wiggling. I then LIGHTLY heated the grip to soften it up a bit. Left the mag in while it cooled, and haven't ever had a problem dropping a mag since! Also - be sure to (safely) test functionality with a loaded mag, as they may fall freely when empty, but bulge a little when loaded.
  20. I have one from Glockstore, and really like it. Before this reaching the release was a fight (average hands, big palms, tiny fingers) and now my mag changes are pretty smooth! Not sure how much that helps, but that's my experience so far.

    Berry bullets G22

I shoot nothing but Berry's through two stock glocks, and absolutely love them!
  22. Thanks Arcangel! I think that would look real good. I had to do mine this way because the slide was painted in a really ugly diy paint job!
