  1. I don't think this is the issue as I have tried (during live fire) probably 25 different techniques including slow, fast, deliberate, quick press and release, quick press and hold etc, all to no avail. However, I will say if that turns out to be the problem I will have a really nice Shadow for sale as I never had such an issue with my M&P. It doesn't matter how fast, hard, soft, deliberate, easy, or anything that I press the release on any of my 7 M&P's, the magazines always, and I mean always fall out. I love how the CZ feels and shoots but I have no interest in a gun that has to be babied.
  2. I have tried two different sets of grips with different screws, same result
  3. Mec-Gar mags will not drop free from my SP-01 Shadow. I am using the 17 round AFC mags if that matters. Factory 19 round mags drop fine with no issue at all. The MG mags are new so I wouldn't think all 6 of them would be defective. Here comes the strange part, this ONLY happens during live fire. Mags drop fine in dry fire practice but as soon as the gun is shot in live fire mags no longer drop free. This happens when gun is at slide lock as well as when it is still chambered and additional rounds are still in magazine. The gun is a fairly new gun (less than 500 rounds), It was purchased new from CZC as a stock Shadow and all of the CGW goodies were later installed by my local gunsmith. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Picked up my P-01 today. Gun feels great in the hand but I am sure the VZ Grips that I just ordered will only make that better. Also plan to call David @ CGW on Monday to get some parts for the Pro Package as well as a set of sights on order!
  5. I have been having the same issue with my SP-01 Shadow. Does not do it during dry fire, only after firing the gun.
  6. Sweet gun indeed Alma! Love the P-01 style frame with the manual safety.
  7. My thoughts as well. Same reason why I went P-01
  8. PCR with a safety and steel frame? The only PCR I am seeing is the 75D PCR which has the decocker and a forged aluminum frame.
  9. Which mount are you guys finding to work well for these scopes? Thanks in advance
  10. Just placed my order for a P-01. Will be calling David @ CGW soon to order parts to sweeten it up! Have to get some grips of some sort coming as well.
  11. What kind of holster are you guys using for the P-01 in IDPA?
  12. Looks like I will be picking up a P-01. For some reason it felt a little better (larger) in my hands compared to the 75 Compact.
  13. I am thinking the 75 Compact may be a better choice since it has a steel frame and a manual safety so you could start in SA with the safety engaged. Thoughts?
  14. Nice looking rig! How do you like the Springer pads? Does the additional weight of the pads speed up the mags dropping out of the mag well?
  15. I am interested in this as well. I just got my SP-01 Shadow a month or so ago and immediately fell in love with it. Since then I have been looking at the P-01 with thoughts of shooting it in CCP division. I am sure someone, somewhere is using this cheater gun to destroy the Glock 19's in CCP.
  16. It seems to be worse when the gun is at slide lock (IDPA).
  17. I am wondering if using the Springer base pads with the additional 1 oz of weight on the bottom of the magazine would assist in them falling free?
  18. This is going to sound crazy but this is what I am seeing.... It almost seems like the centrifugal force of me twisting my wrist is working just enough against gravity to prevent the magazine from falling free. I am hoping the +10% springs will give some added "pop" that will allow them to drop free. It is hard for me to believe that my hand is working fast enough to create more energy in a reverse motion than the mag release and gravity, but the faster I twist my wrist around into my work space to anticipate a reload the further the magazine stays seated in the mag well.
  19. Ordered 6 of the +10% springs. Really hope that solves that issue as this is the only thing I don't absolutely love about the CZ! Cost me dearly in a match tonight.
  20. What is the commonly used recoil spring in the SP-01 Shadow 9mm?
  21. Thank you! That makes perfect sense as it pertains to the springs as it feels like when the mag release is pressed it just doesn't have enough pop to push it all of the way out like I am accustomed to with the M&P. I will order a few packs of springs and hopefully that fixes the issue.
  22. With that said, if I had it to do over again and had the patience I would just order an SP-01 from CGW. He quoted me just over $1000 with competition sights installed and all worked over. I just didn't want to wait the quoted 7 weeks. If I end up sticking with the CZ, David will get my business for a backup gun for sure.
  23. Coming over from the M&P as well huh? That seems to be a common trend these days. I was in the same boat a month or so ago so I will try to share my journey into the CZ platform. I purchased a stock SP-01 Shadow from CZC ($920 shipped). I then called David @ CGW and ordered all of the upgrades that he recommended which cost me about $225. I took the gun and parts to a local gunsmith who has worked on a few local competitors CZ guns and he polished everything up and installed the parts. I am very happy with what I have at this point. It is very different from the M&P and that in itself has presented a huge challenge for me but I am hoping to overcome that soon as I have seen the CZ is definitely a much more accurate platform, even in the hands of an M&P shooter.
  24. Empty mag SSI scales on SP-01 Shadow factory mags do the same It seems that it is actually a problem with me more than anything. I am a new CZ shooter coming from the M&P where the mag release almost kicked the magazines out regardless of the angle of the gun. I tend to have the gun turned somewhat sideways before pushing the mag release and that doesn't seem to work with the CZ. Mags drop fine as long as the mags are still pointed toward the ground but if the gun is turned up on it's side at all they catch about half way out. I hope that makes some kind of sense.
