  1. this sounds like a guy who is taking the title of range master to a level of totalitarianism where he thinks the rules don't apply to him. A DQ would have done hime good to set him back on the righteous path, or he would have played the d#ck measuring game and made the rest of the match not for for your or anyone else around that dint have the minerals to put him in his place. If it happens again, I suggest pulling him aside and reminding him of the rule, telling him he is DQed and see where he wants to take it. If he gets huffy, pack your bags and leave. My shooting time is for fun, not jack-assery
  2. if any aspect of the start position is not specified, then nothing should be assumed expect for hands off guns. if start says anywhere outside the shooting area, then you can be 15 ft away picking your nose staring at butterflies. At least thats what the budding gamer inside of me is telling me haha
  3. That same thing happened to me at a local level 1 match and I ended the stage with 10 FTE targets. It sucked but I only had myself to blame for trying to load faster then I should have been and failing to charge a round. It was a good teaching moment though and I am much more careful now.
  4. It appears to be a case of good initiative/ poor judgment on the range staff for picking those types of targets with the posts not having a way of not spinning. I can see the idea behind a quick reset to reduce time, but that gets null when multiple shooters are having to reshoot due to REF. And if it was my call, I would give the REF ruling.
  5. What kind of FTF are we talking about here? failed to chamber the round (round locked up between the slide and the ramp)? or completely failed to pull one out of the magazine? If the first problem, i suggest trying different ammo unless its the same stuff you have been using. If thats the can then yes try changing the mag spring. If the second issue, also try replacing the magazine springs and maybe going with a lighter recoil spring to allow the slide to come all the way back if you're using loaded down ammo.
  6. I've shaved my muzzle end with a knife, just enough to expose fresh plastic. it allows for more light to come through
  7. Huge load off my mind. thanks for the post StraitUp. I do work like this on occasion but this is by no means my primary source of income and if it was for a living, I would have been dead a long time ago
