  1. Just bought a set of grippers from GNC that look just like the CoC. Set comes with 3 grippers, 50, 100, and 150lb. Regular price was $50 on sale for $20. http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4152810
  2. I've seen a few guys try them and then quickly go back to their AR's.
  3. I just bought new springs and followers from Dawson for my Para and could only get 19 in the mags until I modified the follower. The old followers had a flat back to them and these new ones from Dawson have 2 legs on each side of the back. When looking at the back of the follower the left leg had to be filed down as it was catching on the basepad. Now I'm getting 21 in each mag with no problems.
  4. I took a couple coils off the spring and took some fine steel wool to the followers. Seems to have fixed the problem. Still testing them but so far so good.
  5. Just watched some of the videos on the Sketchup help page. They really help you understand the basic tools and how to use them. Check them out. http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/training/videos/new_to_gsu.html
  6. Anyone have or has seen a model for a Dillon 550 or 650?
  7. Are you not using carbide dies? Why are you using lube on 38 SC? Just curious....
  8. I started loading Universal in 40 last week,I was using Longshot but its a tad jumpy and well, its a cannon Universal was nice, clean and cheap plus I can buy it locally without hazmat fees and it is calm compared to LS I was loading 180 PDs 5.2 g Universal CCI500 1.23 OAL Works well for me,I shoot it in my SIG and Glocks 4.6 is a light load - surprised it cycles the slide on the last round I notice you did not mention the velocity, or power factor, of your 5.2 grain load. I have to "assume" you do not know. And, you know what they say about "assume". A 5.0 grain charge of Universal gives me a power factor of 181. Now, to make major, I only need a power factor of 165. As I have already stated, 4.6 grains of Universal gives me a power factor of 167. It is a no brainer! Dave Depends on barrel length....
  9. I have a Millet DMS 1-4x24mm that I really like. Illumination isn't great in bright sun. Low light conditions is only time I use it. But for around $200, it's a very nice scope.
  10. The followers I got from Dawson do not have a flat back on them. The one I broke sorta does now. The Dawson and Arredondo are the only followers I can find. Grams doesn't list any available, and bolen doesn't offer any for para that I can find. Anyone know of any other followers for Para? I haven't tried this mag with the broke/fixed follower in the gun to see if it runs yet. So I may be ordering some more followers again.
  11. I ordered these from dawson, but those 2 I listed are the only ones available that I found. Do you remember the number of coils?
  12. What length springs do you use in 140mm mags with +3 extensions? When I was ordering my replacement springs for my Para mags I could get the "Para Ordnance HiCap 10 Round Magazine Replacement Spring, Short", (I know, HiCap 10 round????) or the "Para Ordnance HiCap Magazine Replacement Spring, Long". I guess this means 11 coils and 13 coils. I ordered the 13 coil and went from a reloadable 20 round mag to a 19 round sometimes reloadable mag. I took one of the mags and cut the spring to 10 coils. I could still only get 19 rounds in the mag until I "modified" the new follower by breaking part of the back off by accident. Now I have a reloadable 21 round mag. So I was just wondering what everyone else was running. Do you start with a 13 coil or 11 coil spring, then adjust to the mag?
  13. I recently purchased an upper with the JP adjustable gas block on it, but I'm still using a full mass carrier and regular buffer. So do I need to switch to a low mass carrier/buffer to get the most benefit from the adjustable gas block? What is the process for tuning the gas block to my loads? Start fully open and turn down or opposite?
  14. He emailed me back this afternoon and said he wasn't taking mags right now. So I'm still looking for someone in this general area. Thanks, Bruce
  15. It was fun to listen to those long shots hitting the steel. I could hear them on the stage I was working a couple bays over.
  16. Congrats! I shot the TN sectional clean this year. I missed 1st place in my class by 5 points. Guess I should have stepped it up just a tad more But it does feel good to make it through a match with no mikes and/or penalties.
  17. No time like the present. Every range I've been to welcomes new shooters to the sport. They will put you with someone to walk you through the basics step by step. Just go try it and have fun. Steel City just had their monthly match this past Saturday. 1st Saturday usually every month. FOP range isn't having their USPSA matches any more. Those are the only 2 ranges I know of in this area. Which side of B'Ham you on?
  18. Yes, I've tried contacting him a couple of times but he hasn't got back with me.
  19. 6" best I remember. I sold it to him
