  1. 10 shot group with a CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Custom TARGET from CZ Customs on a ransom rest. MG 124 JHP 4.4gn of N330 OAL 1.100 AV 1029 ES 20 SD 7 1" group at 15yards. 4/13/2013
  2. have you checked to see if you are compressing the powder? Did you do the math? Shell length + bullet length - your OAL = bullet seat depth. 3.9gn of N320 will fill the shell all but, about 0.237. If your seating your bullet deeper then this, might not be a good thing. You can always get a Throater reamer and ream your barrel so that you can load to a longer OAL with HP.
  3. Average Velocity of 999 fps only 124PF I have loaded up 6 more test loads on my 1050. MG 124 JHP at 4.4gn N330 10 each at OAL of 1.100, 1.095 1.090 & 4.6 gn N330 OAL of 1.100, 1.095 1.090 . So 60 more shots to shoot. I am looking for about 1040--1060 FPS. If I can get as good a group out of this next test, I will be very pleased.
  4. I got all they had. I am In Delaware. Got the Powder at King Shooters Supply King Of Prussia, PA 610-491-9901
  5. A LGS had it on the shelf, it was dusty had been on the shelf for some time.
  6. Could not find any N320, So pick up 2lb of N330. went to the range to test the loads I worked up. one load did pretty good. MG 124 JHP N330 4.2gn OAL 1.095 was a little slow, but good group. shot in my sons CZ75 SP-01 Shadow Target from CZ Customs. on a Ransom rest.
  7. well lead sold for $0.80 a lb in July 2012, in January 2013 lead sold for $1.12lb. that is about a 40% increases in cost. now we all know that fuel has gone up, so shipping cost to get the lead delivered has gone up. they are now working 7 days a week that means overtime pay for the workers. workers going from 40 hrs to 56hrs is a 40% increases in cost. you get the same amount of bullets per hr. but you pay the workers 50% more for the extra hours, but you spread the extra cost across all bullets you make. Bottom line I do not like the increases but I under stand it.

some primers are soft some are hard. Fed are the softest ( you can use light springs to get a better trigger pull) Tula primers are on the hard side. you have to use stronger springs( this make your trigger pull harder then it needs to be if you were using Fed primers). My CZ85 has a 5.5 lb DA and 2.75lb SA trigger pull, but I only use Fed primers.
  9. Did you ever test the barrel's of the guys you work with? if you have not, Don't give them any of your reloads to shoot! many guns have different OAL requirements. each guns barrel must have a push test to see what OAL works in each gun. look at the link, it will show you how each gun maker makes the chamber longer or shorter. you are loading long and not all guns will work or be safe with long OAL. Loading to a factory OAL without using the same bullet, may work in your gun but blow up your buddy's gun. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.0
  10. Well I don't like when things go up in $. But its only $28.00 for 3750 bullets. that = $0.0074666 each, or in my case $4.10 a mouth. This in no way will stop me from shooting!
  11. you might want to look at this post. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.0
  12. cycling can be affected by lots of things. That is why you load up 5-10 at each OAL &/or gn of powder and test. you very the OAL to find what works best in your gun. it is like making a cake. a little longer or shorter OAL and the results will be different, a little longer or shorter OAL and a change in powder the results will be different, one may shoot 5" groups one may shoot 2" groups. you have to test it in your gun to find out. save the ones you re-loaded & use them in your test, but start at 4.9gn and work up by adding .2gn, no need to go .1gn. if you find two that are close then try .1 in the middle. " but haven't seen math or a basic rule of thumb such as 'go in increments of X' etc." there is NO basic rule of thumb/or X= ? all powders are different and changing OAL changes it also, this is why you start at the lowest load data and work your way up & look for signs of over PSI! you would never add 10% to a min load for the Glocks not cycling very well. this would put you at MAX or over, did some one say KABOOM 4.7 may shoot ok but not great, 4.9 might be a little better. 5.1 might be 1" group and 5.3 might go to 3" groups or it might be the other way around, 5.5 might show signs of over PSI this is why you test. when you test look at each case as you shoot each round, look for signs of over PSI if you see signs of over PSI STOP! go no higher in gn wt.
  13. I think you would be better off to start re-loading at target loads. 1. you need to start re-loading slow, bad things happen when you rush. 2. when you re-load you can shoot a lot more. 3. Soft target loads will let you shoot without getting bad habits! After you become a GOOD shooter with good shooting skills, you can move up to the hotter loads (same as you carry). 4. one of the best things you can do is dry fire and not just now and then, every day or every other day 10-15 min. ??? do you have chronograph? If you don't it is hard to do load development, you have to know how fast your loads are going! This out of MODERN RELOADING second edition by RICHARD LEE 115gn jacketed WSF load = start at 4.9gn With OAL of 1.140, 1.145, 1.150 then after you shoot them, try 5.1gn OAL of 1.140, 1.145, 1.150 then after you shoot them, try 5.3gn OAL of 1.140, 1.145, 1.150 124gn jacketed WSF load = start at 4.7gn With OAL of 1.140, 1.145, 1.150 then after you shoot them, try 4.9gn OAL of 1.140, 1.145, 1.150 then after you shoot them, try 5.1gn OAL of 1.140, 1.145, 1.150 The 1.150 OAL will go slower then the 1.145, will go slower then the 1.140 as you shorten the OAL the PSI goes up & the bullet goes faster. Try these loads and bench rest them at 15 yard. shoot slow to see which one has the best group. I would think you will find a good load with this.
  14. the push test will show you what OAL you should load to for that gun, each gun will have it's own OAL. Look at this post it will show you how to do the push test. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.0
  15. What OAL does your gun need? You did the push test right? what gun are you going to use your re-loads in?
  16. I paid $28 in July, & $30 in January and now $39.95 in March.
  17. I stopped by the local gun shop today, low and behold they had at least 20 boxes of each large, small & mag Rifle & pistol Federal primers. . I grabbed 2 boxes & went to the counter. clerk said $39.95 per box of 1000. Did I say OUCH!
  18. No buddy useing this powder in 9mm minor ?
  19. is anyone useing N330 in 9mm minor? If you are can you post some of your results? type of gun Bullet used how many gn. OAL feet per sec. accuracy Thanks Dave
  20. A good video for new re-loaders to watch.
  21. take a look at this, it will teach you what you need to know. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.0
  22. Cz have a SHORT chamber!!!! If you do the push test for youe barrel, you will find what OAL you should use. Every time you change bullets ...124fmj, 124jhp, 115fmj,115jhp ect. you need to find what OAL to use for each. You will find that each bullet will take a diffrent OAL and no two guns are the same. • You need to do the test about 10-15 times until you start getting the same number over and over. On several tries the rifling will grab the bullet and pull it back out of the case. When you start getting the same number over and over, that's the closest to the actual Maximum Chamber Length. • Now subtract at least .015" from the MCL to get the Maximum OAL. if you use reloads that are touching the rifling, like someone said " pressure boogy man" will come see you.
  23. I like Nickel Plated Brass. you will find that it works jusy fine.
