  1. It sounds like your decision is made, I'm sure there are plenty of guys willing to take it off your hands. There's no rule stating "thou shall shoot a DA/SA steel pistol in Production".
  2. My Y7 slide is lighter than a V12 GT slide aa it has about the same weight out of the front and nearly an ounce out of the rear. I'm not sure of the spring weight, but I think it's in the 8-10# range, I really should make a spring dyno and sort my springs by weight.
  3. 9mm is wider at the base (0.007") which could account for a little more case volume/less velocity, additional the neck is a little smaller (0.004") I could imagine slightly more energy is used fire forming the case. There is a short time between when the primer explodes, pushing the case forward in the chamber and when the charge explodes slamming the case back into the breech where the extractor is holding the case back, but as long as the time is nearly identically sized like 38SC and 9mm I can't imagine one stressing the extractor more than the other. The only time I've seen this cause an issue is when I shot a .380 case in a 9mm: the smaller rim ripped past the extractor when the primer blew, then slammed back, flattening the primer to a size larger than the primer pocket.

I've already clipped ~1/2 oz off the dust cover, and I estimate I'll loss another ounce cutting another inch, plus some ball cuts, then I'm also planning to do cheese grater style holes in the grip.

I put an aluminum three port Witness comp on the pile for weight, but I plan to experiment with some custom comps.
  6. Not yet, it didn't drop into any of my slides, so I have to fit it. I lent out both my 9mm 2011s and won't get them back until the end of next month.

The itch to work on my TS Open gun is getting stronger I weighed all the parts and it's going to go on a serious diet! 51.4oz is a beast, my latest Tanfoglio is 7oz lighter if you account for the racker. If I get really aggressive I think I can get at least 3oz out of the frame and 3oz out of the slide.
  8. All the videos prior to those I posted on 2/25 used a FPS with a factory radius which is slightly more than Big Boy's, his is basically square with a slightly broken edge, I don't own any as square as his. In the next few months I'm going to repeat some of my early videos with a FPB like the one above.
  9. Try it under a 95gr bullet, the more powder the better, start at 7gr and go up to 9
  10. I'll get some pictures up. I used a smooth radius from the pin hole to the lower inner edge, if that makes sense.
  11. Then 12.4gr of SP2 (yes, too much of a good thing!)
  12. Then just for kicks I loaded some 100gr pills over 11gr of SP2:
  13. I shot some videos with my 38s today, each with a health radius on the firing pin stop:
  14. I don't think a sample group of five is enough to tell you anything statistically significant. What does a group of ten or twenty look like?
  15. Hmm... You might be really close with a 124 on a full case. Give it a try and let us know

    That's really clean work!
  17. How long is your barrel? Any holes?
  18. Depending on your setup, you might not make major with a full case of N105, or you may have to increase bullet weight to make it which is going the wrong direction in my opinion. If you're going to spend the money on VV powder, 3n38 under a 115 MG JHP is as good as it gets in a 9, if you don't want to spend VV money I suggest HS6, WAC or Silhouette.I've heard of plenty of people using AA7 in 9mm, should do fine.
  19. Wrong thread Space Flunkie, please move it to: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218768&page=9#entry2558292
  20. Why did you drop the bullet weight with the Universal Clays load? I like Clays (not Universal, not International), Solo 1000, I have a friend who loves E3 (which shoots awesomely soft), and a lot of Limited shooters love Titegroup.
  21. Indeed they are SpaceFlunky, I filed the dovetail to fit; I'm not shooting any Tanfos with irons at the moment so they're available if you're interested. I'll send you a PM.
