  1. I have the 24". I wondered the same thing as you before. I wouldn't change a thing now. The gun is plenty light and you have more options for the future.
  2. Good loading. How is the fumble factor? How much more difficult is it to maintain control of 4 vs 2 shells?
  3. Let me know if you are looking to get rid of that JM Pro.
  4. I conceal and compete with a Glock 35. I carry a Glock 22 on duty. I think the closer you can get the "fun gun" to the "Oh @#$% gun" the better off you are. If my department let me carry a 2011 I would compete with a 2011. My vote for a CCW for you would be a 4" STI Tactical or something similar to the gun you shoot most. I wish I had the options SV-COP had
  5. I would find the ammo you need asap. I don't think you will be able to find much around for a decent price anymore. I would assume the match director, Ken Nelson, would be accommodating regarding possibly shipping the gun if necessary. Let me know if you need help with any of that, I live about 40 minutes north of the range.
  6. I think you are ahead of the curve by getting the Attack Target. That has to be a fantastic training tool. Let me know how they work for you. Some really good points could be made using that system (no pun intended). I was involved in a shooting a couple months ago where the suspect had two butcher knives. It is surprising how quickly things can go south and how important that cushion of distance is.
  7. That is good advise. It would be catastrophic to pull the trigger out of the holster when it hasn't reached justified deadly force yet. I have heard to practice getting a perfect sight picture instead of breaking the trigger at the par time. I am trying to work on both right now. Thank you for the story, I prefer to learn as much as possible from others experiences.
  8. Is there still a 24" available? They are impossible to come by and I have countless friends looking for one...
  9. Thank you for the advise everyone. I am glad to hear these suggestions from experienced officers and shooters. I will continue you my practice and incorporate your advise into it. I hope all of you stay safe and keep shooting. Maybe one day I will see you at Nationals... Please let me know of anything else you think of or learn on this subject.
  10. Thank you for the advise. The only belt and holster I practice with is my duty set up. I used to run a Glock 35 as a duty weapon and just recently my department issued us Glock 22. I practice with both guns regularly. (I am waiting to get my 22 back from evidence right now, I was involved in a shooting a couple weeks ago) I am still doing tactics training regularly, I just want to get faster and more accurate on my shooting. I hope the Game isn't changing my tactics too much... I have a video of a match a shot about a year ago where I was doing .80 draws, I am a little faster this year. Here is the link to the video
  11. I will look forward to shooting with you guys this year. I will be running my Glock 35 in production. I just use my duty belt with a Safariland ALS holster. I will do my best to not screw up, but no promises
  12. I was really hoping someone would post a recent video of them personally doing it.
  13. How about you let me borrow yours Z Me Go? You said he never read them...
  14. Yeah, I could see how that might have hindered you last year.... Are you going to do Limited again? What are you shooting?
  15. This will be my first Level 3 match. Who is going to be there?
  16. Where does this get posted to?

  17. Oh yeah, there was also a popular vihtavuori powder.
  18. I do stock both primers right now, I also load .223. I don't mind stocking both. It sounds like there is no real benefit and only draw-backs by using rifle primers. Thank you for the help. What do you think is an ideal powder and why? I have been reading Tite Group, Clays, or 231. My latest IDPA magazine stated these were the most popular for the Nationals Match.
  19. I made a mistake... I think. I bought an 8 pound keg of Hodgdon HS-6 and have never tried it in the past. I have been using Acc #5 and been happy with it. How is HS-6? What is your feeling on this powder? I complete IDPA SSP and USPSA Production with a Glock 35. Secondly, I use CCI small pistol primers in my .40 S&W. This was only logical considering it is a small pistol, strange how I came to that... But, recently I have heard of people using small rifle primer. What is the benefit and would it benefit me?
  20. I use a Safariland ALS holster and a Glock 35. It is just the thumb release, not the rock down hood.
  21. Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. I have been very disappointed with a lot of police as well. I do know and shoot with some fantastic police shooters, its unfortunate they are the exception, not the rule. I still have faith that Law Enforcement will continue to progress in shooting proficiency. I still feel like a beginner in a lot of these matches compared to other shooters. With that said I placed 2nd in the 2012 Utah Sheriff Association Shoot (ran off of the 2012 Area 1 Championship Course, in St. George, UT), we are behind the curve on shooting aspect. I wish they would all understand their lives and the lives of those they protect WILL be on the line when they draw their firearm.
  22. Those are all really good ideas. I do a little bit of side step on my draw stroke, but I should work on that more anyways. Okshootist: On transitions between sight pictures I find my self leading with my eyes and my sights follow. I am not sure if anyone has told that to me in the past but it felt natural. I am glad to hear it is the correct way to do it.
  23. I will look into that book. I think someone else had good things to say about it too. Is this the one where the guy made GM in like 2 years?
