  1. My first time loading 357 on a 550 using Titegroup was quite a long time ago. That experience cost me a real nice S&W 626. Since then I use powder that fills half the case or close so a double charge will be noticeable. You can't see the powder even with a light. Any time you stop for a problem clear your machine. Safety is the best policy.
  2. From what I understand about SCHP bullets is that they don't need the fps to open up. What Barnes is putting out for load data on this bullet, that's good enough for me. I will chrono my loads and play it safe.
  3. From the BARNES data I guess this bullet isn't made for competition shooting.
  4. So far that's the plan. Barnes data is all I need and will start out with the starting load using my crony. I have Longshot and might buy a # of Silhouette. SILHOUETTE
  5. I went to the Barnes site and they have load data for this bullet. At least I have a starting point to work with. Thanks fellas.
  6. I just got some SCHP in the 115 gr 9mm and can't find any REAL load data. Most of what I read is speculation. Has anybody loaded & chronographed these bullets?
  7. Federal is making HST Micro 150gr 9mm & has very good reviews. Check Nosler for the Data on the 380.
  8. I was checking some load data on Noslers site and see they load 115 gr for 380. Anybody got any results with that combo?
  9. I have a 650 and want to load 223 & 300 blk. I found both kits but can I get away with only one kit & a couple xtra parts?
  10. I run mine at 1.250. Stretch your OAL out to 1.260. Shorter usually doesn't work for me.
  11. All this wonderful stuff and I see a Lee single Stage on the end of your bench. You can't get away from your roots sometimes.
  12. works good, but kinda loud.
  13. I load to SAMMI specs and have never had a problem with chambering. I guess that's pretty lucky ,HUH?
  14. I case gauge the first 20 rounds after set up and if they pass I'm off to the races.
  15. I have been using Lee carbide dies for 7 years & 1000's of rounds and they are priced reasonably. You might want to invest in a Case Gauge. It will give you a lot of info.
  16. I load all my 230gr RN at 1.250 and have zero setback. After you deprime & resize your case it should have enough neck tension to hold the bullet. I also use a Lee FCD to straighten the case out & put a very light crimp on it.
  17. Not yet, mainly because its just practice loads.
  18. I just loaded up some Sierra 185gr HP's with Unique 7.3 gr , 1.212 OAL. Speer load data. They shot and cycled perfect in all of my 45's, I'm working on some Golden Saber 230 gr HP loads now. Same powder unique 6 gr, 1.235 OAL. The 185's were very accurate and am hoping the 230's will work out good also. Not chronoed yet , to much rain.
  19. Its a BERRYS separator. Most all are the same. I reinforced the hinge system with some wire ties. It would pop apart once in a while. The ties solved that.
  20. I got tired of the clunk too. This was my fix. A bolt , 5" of surgical tubing and a half piece of chain link with some barbs chiseled into it to hold the rubber. Works great.
  21. A spare parts kit would have set screws in it. Compare.
  22. Its a 5 gallon paint strainer. They come 2 to a package at Home Depot and I've been using the first one for 3 years.
