  1. Those were the settling shots from a recent RR test of my S2 Orange. One reason I liked the 150 Syntech was due to how well it performed in my STI 2011:
  2. As a new CZ Shadow 2 Orange owner that's competing in USPSA Production, one of my deciding factors for purchasing the S2 platform was the results of the 2020 Equipment Survey's Production class: https://s3.uspsa.io/media/Survey_Results.pdf If my plans work out, I hope to also compete in CO during 2022 with another Shadow variant even though the Sig's are currently dominating.
  3. As I started out on the other end with heavier bullets, I have found the 150g Federal Syntechs to be very accurate in several pistols! https://www.federalpremium.com/handgun/syntech/syntech-action-pistol/11-AE9SJAP1.html 20 yard Ransom Rest settling shots:
  4. Understand...........probably going to take a "less curved" trigger to accomplish that.
  5. As posted by CZ USA in the Orange's description: I asked Angus at CZC about the short reset, and his comment was "I believe it has a form of short reset".........
  6. Back in May after acquiring my first CZ (S2O), I contacted Blue about the availability of their latest 147g offering. CSR told me orders were way behind; but they could round me up a sample pack of their RN and FP profiles. And would I report back on my max OALs for the Orange: What I found for my barrel was max OAL for the RN was 1.125" while the FP would go 1.136". My normal loading of either would be to reduce those maxes by .015". Not really caring for the profile of their new RN, I chose to start testing the 147g FP at 1.120" and had great results with zero functioning issues. I also chose to test the .356" version! BTW: I use a Redding Pro Micrometer seating die and experienced no marking issues with either profile...... HTHs
  7. FWIW, this was posted by a Mod at the Shadow 2 Owners' Facebook page: For my Orange, I simply replaced the stock springs with CZC and/or CGW aftermarket springs based on my needs.
  8. I just looked at the primer slide pic in the Manual..............."now" I'm thinking the mangled/damaged primer is being pulled back cause it's still/stuck in the primer hole of the slide. Duh........
  9. FWIW: I did notice a post on the 1050/1100/2000 Facebook page where a user was having this issue with his RL1100 press dragging primers back into the plastic tip:
  10. @DownUnder Having moved from many years of operating the XL650 platform to an RL1100, I can totally relate to how the 650's rotating primer disk is very unlikely to drag a primer back under the "column of primers" as you note. You state above: Now I'm wondering if there would be a safe way to take say, a spent primer, and demonstrate exactly how this can happen? Having owned/operated an RL1100 for just under 2 years, I have experienced upside down, crushed, and side-ways installed primers! But I have never had one drug back under the remaining column of primers! And I can assure you I respect the fact that I need to keep the priming system on my press clean and well maintained as a top priority!
  11. Be sure and link us to your review! I for one would definitely like to read it!
  12. I just read the post on Bullseye L. Very enlightening! Placed my order for both ends. I appreciate the insight for mounting. Have all flavors of Loctite! Thanks again!
  13. @AHI Going to try the brass ends on my RL1100. Do you still leave the magazine shield cap slightly snug? Thanks!
  14. PEG941: I'm a bit confused as Stuart Wong is with CZ Custom. Is this the guy you talked with? Stuart Wong Ghost Products Inc CZ Custom Shop 110 E. Southern Mesa, AZ 85210 480-969-1311 voice 480-969-9687 facsimile stuart@czcustom.com I could very well be mistaken, but I was thinking CZ Custom did the slide milling for their RDS plate system: https://czcustom.com/custom-work.html https://czcustom.com/custom-work/optic-sight-cut.html Sorry if I directed you to the wrong company.
  15. Stuart Wong! stuart@czcustom.com Excellent Customer Service!
  16. @AlmoPretty much what I've done except I'm still using the 11# hammer spring and my DA pull is right at 6.75#. Thanks for sharing your info. BTW: the solid trigger pin you refer to: Is it the CZC one like this? https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/fire-control/cz-75-trigger-pin-new-style-all-models.html Or one like the CGW: https://cajungunworks.com/product/floating-trigger-pin/ Thanks!
  17. @slavex: I too have both ET Tools and they work perfectly at installing the TRS and Sear Spring! Sad to say, but Paul Hag has left ET and is now working Athens, Greece. I truly enjoyed his YouTube videos and considered him an asset to ET and the CZ community! After removing the entire fire control group from my Orange for a deep cleaning, I ended up putting the Ultimate Trigger back in along with a CGW RP TRS. The return, IMO, is just a bit stronger than the ET RP TRS. I've ordered a few CZ TRS as I still want to try the Ultimate trigger with the reddish CZ TRS. What I have found in my particular brass Ultimate Trigger, is the area beside and behind the upper pre-travel screw is very minimal. If I leave the upper screw out, that will allow a "thicker" TRS short leg to fit; as long as there is enough clearance between the nose of the trigger bar and the rear of the trigger. Probably why ET states this in their Product Description: Once I get the CZ TRS spares in, I will definitely fit one to the rear of the brass Ultimate Trigger..........whatever it takes.
  18. For those that are totally familiar with the optional parts that are included in the S2 Orange; CZ USA has this stated in the "description" of the Shadow 2 Orange: For the "trigger with short reset" that I bolded, is this the same short reset disconnector that's included in the CZC Short Reach DA/SA kit? https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/fire-control/czc-short-da-trigger-kit.html I don't think the Orange comes standard with the 85 Combat Style trigger as the (Orange) stock trigger has a overtravel screw included. Again, trying to learn the specific parts that are unique to the S2 Orange. Thanks for any feedback!
  19. Rob: Thanks for your experience with the UT. As I stated before, I was wanting to experiment with the CZ TRS while using the Ultimate trigger. Come to find out, that on my specific trigger, I had to take a small round jeweler's file and put a notch/channel just to the right of the upper set screw hole since there was just not enough room for the thicker CZ TRS to fit between the front/nose of the trigger bar and the rear of the Ultimate Trigger. That was the fix for me. I emailed Dmitri Eemann to let him know of my issue, and he responded: I am planning on finishing the season with brass UT; but my next step over the winter is to try out the CZC Short Reach Trigger Kit with the 85C style trigger.
  20. KL: I think AHI is offering up some very solid information! IIRC, I have some of the SNS bullets to spare............
  21. Received this from Dillon: I really like the machining/looks of the FW Arms plate. Think I'll ask a few questions concerning that one with the manufacturer. Right now I'm thinking the aftermarket has improved the plates to the point that if a user decides to automate, then they are already covered. Thanks for all the info!
  22. Thanks George! I'll research this tomorrow when I have some free time.
  23. Cuz: Can you find me a link to Sigarm's post? You've got me thinking about what are the improvements other than thickness........... Thanks!
