  1. I went to Sketchup but couldn't find anything resembling USPSA activities ? What am I doing wrong ?
  2. Thanks's I went to GunRacer & found all the necessary props for stage design, even put together a COF & then printed it out. I still have to figure out how to make it bigger...
  3. Jammer, Is that the Stage Design tools CD ?
  4. Hi All, I know this is gonna date me but I need to design some Stages for our club & haven't been able to find my Plastic Template with all the shapes of Targets and Poppers etc. I went thru every bag I own and all over my house with no success. I used it for a lot of years, then put it somewhere and well you know the rest. Does any body have one that they aren't using or can tell me where I can get one. I spoke to Val Ruele at USPSA Headquarters & she directed me to the On-Line store at NROI where there is a CD - Don't know if this will help me. All help is appreciated. Thanks..Steve N
  5. Hi all, Would the addition of a muzzle brake tame some of the recoil & noise from a Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle ? If so , could anyone recommend a decent one. Thanks in advance for any & all help offered, I appreciate it.
  6. Hey Waynes World, I have the duplicate Gun with the smaller SJC Comp & have good success with Win Auto Comp 6.8grs-7.0grs under a 124gr MG JHP -OAL 1.145 using Fed Sm Pist Magnum Primers. AVG VEL 1,386fps-PF 171.8...also another favorite is 8.0grs-8.2grs of HS6 under a 124gr MG CMJ - OAL 1.145-1.150 using Win Small Pist Primers, no chrono data but full functionality for feeding & ejecting. When I was first working up my loads for the G17 I searched around the forum & found Shooter 995 who has the 11 port comp on his G17 & posted some great recipes with chrono data,so if you go to the 9mm load section & look back a few months you should find his posts..glad to help.
  7. Yes indeed, I use it frequently in my Stock Glock 19 and my Glock 17C---HP38 4.7grs (you could also bring it down to 4.5grs with no cycling problems )with a 115gr FMJ RN from Precision Delta- OAL is 1.125 & I've used Winchester CCI,& Federal Small Pistol Primers. It seems to be pretty clean & I couldn't be happier.HP38 has become one of my favorite stock 9mm powders along with Vita N320...
  8. atbarr, Wait until you find some Auto Comp or HS6...you'll be very glad you did.Don't doodle around with those other powders it's a waste of time & precious components.Check powder valley on a daily basis for Auto Comp & HS6. they put up 1 lb cannisters of each fairly frequently.I bought a couple last month.
  9. Congrats atbarr, Your'e gonna have a blast. I have almost the same one from Bobby Carver (yours is a bit nicer)Lots of good recipes available with Auto Comp & HS6,& 124gr MG JHP's & MG CMJ's and also Precision Delta 124gr JHP's. Be advised that your OAL will be in the 1.145 to 1.153 range due to the Glock mags.I seat my 9mm Major loads for my STI Mags longer.BTW I bought a couple of Arredondo +6 Bases for my G17 mags & they work fine(get the ones with the extra power spring included)they go on & off easily for cleaning-a really good product. Enjoy your new buy it's a lot of fun to shoot, I have an STI Tru-Bor & a Carver built Glock, both use pretty much the same recipes with variations in the OAL being the main difference. The STI Chronos a little faster(don't know why)maybe the barrel??
  10. Bring you OAL down around to 1.145-1.150- Glocks don't particularly feed 1.154 OAL's very well. When you do that drop your charge to 5.5grs & see how that feeds. BTW Silhouette & Unique are not very widely used in Compensated Glocks for a reason. Get yourself some Winchester Auto Comp or HS6 and start over with loads that WILL function in a Compensated Glock. I have been shooting a Carver Glock 17 Racegun with excellent results using Win Auto Comp & HS6 & 124gr CMJ's...Are you shooting Minor or Major ??
  11. BritinUsa, Your next best alternative powder for 38Super is Winchester Auto Comp, made for Compensated raceguns but has other applications as well. PV has it more frequently than most of their other powders.
  12. I've been shooting Glocks in USPSA Limited for 18yrs & never had any issues with any Bullet tip configurations ie: FMJ RN-JHP-FP-CMJ-TMJ Etc,Etc,Etc.Glocks will feed them all,the chambers and barrels are VERY forgiving. However, the key to that good feeding is the OAL for the Glock Mags your using. Keep them within the OAL data that is provided- NOT LONGER ! Longer is when you have feed problems in Glocks. I also load 9mm Major for a Carver Open G17 Racegun & my loads for that gun are considerably shorter than my loads for my STI Tru-Bor in 9mm Major due to magazine design.I haven't had any problems with plated (berry's) or TMJ's in my G19, just watch your OAL's...
  13. I've been using my G-17 Mags with Arredondo + 5 bases, built strong, easy to put on & clean with my Carver G-17 9mm Major Open Glock.BTW Bobby Carver is one of the nicest people out there building custom guns-always makes time to talk to you or e-mail you if you have a question..
  14. Hi all, Got 2 lbs of Bullseye , first time using it, Is this powder supposed to be DULL GREY ?? All my other powders(Win Auto Comp, Vita N340 & N350, Hodgdon HS6, HP38) have a nice sheen to them. This Bullseye is just plain DULL. Don't the powder companies add something to assist in metering? Any and all help will be appreciated. I know Bullseye is kinda the gold standard for 45ACP..Thanks,I don't want to use a powder that's not right.
  15. 5.7.4 appears to me to be the logical action..
  16. But how is it scored ? I can't find the rule,post #2 seems to be the most logical..but I still don't have a rule # ???
  17. Hi all, If a competitor fires at least one shot but is unable to finish the COF, how is the course scored, I searched the rule book but can't find it.
  18. HI all, I also use Aguila, CBC, Fiocchi(GFL),Geco, without issue for 9mm Major..Never had any problems. The cases that are a Pain are Winchester WCC with their miserable primer pockets!!!
  19. Thanks Mic 2377, That's just what I was looking for...I appreciate the info.
  20. Hi all, Have some Bullseye & need to know if anyone has a good recipe for 9mm 115gr FMJ & 9 mm 147gr JHP's..I usually use HP38 or Vita N320 with good results, but now that Powders are in short supply, I'd like to start using what I have in stock. Please include OAL with any Data. Thanks for the help..
  21. Thanks, I didn't remember how they came out because they fell out when I took the mag apart. BTW alot of the stock plastic spacers are not sized properly from the factory & some are too short (I had a shorty in my 170mm Mag that didn't reach the top of the mag) so I spoke to STI & they said they would send me out a replacement. If these spacers aren't long enough you have to nudge each round forward while loading so they don't hang up on the short spacer & nose dive while you're pressing the round in ! I have a Grams Follower & Spring & Beven suggested that the plastic spacer be Silicone Glued in the body of the Mag to keep it where it's supposed to be. Let me also mention that anyone needing Mag Parts should be doing business with Grams Engineering, Beven always makes time to actually speak with customers regarding any issues, super nice guy...
  22. Any one know which side of the Plastic spacer that comes with the STI 9x19 Mags both in 140mm & 170mm goes toward the back of the mag? One side is Shiny and the opposite side is dull with a small box stamped on the plastic.I've been using the SHINY side against the Mag Spring.
  23. + 1 for the Excellent Customer Service @ TGS..
