  1. According to Scott Volquartsen himself, Volquartsen firearms are designed to use standard velocity CCI ammo. Not Mini Mags.
  2. Guys. Get a 10 shot revolver (S&W or Ruger) and load whatever you can get your hands on and just keep pulling the trigger. Bottom feeders are too temperamental.
  3. I think your best bet would be the Franken Gun. I have tried all three and building it my way worked for me. I took a Ruger Mk 4 and put a Volquartsen upper on it with all internal parts from Tandam Kross.
  4. I'll be shooting it at the ICORE Match at Mystic in December. You'll see it then.
  5. Where does the carbon fiber barrel come from and what is the cost? I recently had TK Custom lighten my 929 barrel and it made a huge difference. They removed about 6.5 oz from the factory weight.
  6. Contact Wiland and tell them what you're looking to do. They can provide the parts to make it happen. Good luck.
  7. Wiland has a great chassis with open sight options for the 10 22 that are the best available.
  8. Then I guess you're a fan of the 38 Short Colt. Some of us are not.
  9. I buy Starline 9mm which I use with 035 moonclips from Revolver Supply for my reloads and I shoot a lot of Federal Syntech 150 grain factory with the same clips but nickle plated. No problems with either one.
  10. My gunsmith had already installed all TKC parts in the gun, including his new recoil spring conversion kit. They blueprinted the action and lightened the barrel. While I do have a lot of $$ tied up in the gun, to me, it's worth it.
  11. I shot the ICORE CHAMPIONSHIP in Louisiana is September. I met Tom from TK there. We made the deal to have the work done and after the match, he took the gun back to his shop with him. I got it in the mail last week. It was nice to do business with him and his company. They kept their end of the deal and the work is first rate. I will be extending him more to do in the near future.
  12. Just got my 929 back from TK Custom. They lightened it and blueprinted the action. Work is first class. Took about 6 to 7 oz off the total weight and for me, it now balances better.
  13. At our matches, some of the loads sent down range get stuck in the cardboard targets....
  14. I just had TK Custom lighten my 929. They took over 8oz off the total weight. A little expensive, but it's what I wanted and they did a nice job.
  15. Your request was to use it for Steel Challenge. I would think 8 is better that 6 or 7 when the buzzer goes off. Just my opinion, but at the recent ICORE Championship in LA, we had a discussion about this and they all pretty much said, the more the better.
  16. Because reloads are not in play in SC, the 38 Special offers a lot more choices, and are more accurate. Short Colts are limited on loading information and they create more bullet jump into the forcing cone due to their shorter length.
  17. With no disrespect intended, the question was asked if they created the class, would you shoot it. It is a yes or no answer. No one asked for participation numbers and political opinions. There is a group of .22 rimfire revolver shooters asking to be put into a division so they may compete against each other. If that is something you would like to do, then your answer is yes, if not, it's no. Thanks again.
  18. Light doesn't work for me. I find a little bit of weight helps with the transitions and also helps in stopping on target. I have a factory Browning Speed Model with all the Tandemkross parts and it runs great.
  19. Then you seem to already have the answer. USPSA board members don't really want the SCSA but as long as it produces, they'll play along.
  20. First, I apologize for giving you the wrong information. It was Jake I talked to not Zack. Yes, the SCSA has grown in the last three years, but the number of USPSA shooters far exceeds the SCSA shooters, and based on my conversation with him (Jake) the numbers win.
  21. Based on a conversation I had with Zack from USPSA, It's all about the numbers and USPSA far exceeds the Syeel Challenge.
  22. It is way overdue in my opinion. The USPSA only cares about the divisions that bring them big money as just proven by their decision to not allow Rimfire Revolver classes.
