    G34 or G17

Best glock production shooter I've personally shot with shoots a G17, and I get my but kicked by several other G17 shooters. Personally (i'd get both) I like the longer sight radius of the G34 but as Flex says "pick one and practice". Best advice I've heard and applies to all gun choices.
  2. I agree with redial, but I'm sure those who swear against using factory barrels w/ lead will be showing up soon (didn't want to start that debate over).. Factory barrel has worked fine for me, just clean the barrel occasionally and you "should" be ok.
  3. I love my gen 4 G34, takes a beating but has never let me down, the Indian....thats another story. I too have noticed the CZ trend start to pick up steam. I had a chance to play with one several weeks ago, did not care for the DA portion of the DA/SA and the SA was not that great either. I did like the weight though. I still would take my G34 any day,
  4. I've had good success with lone wolf and storm lake I bought used. I hear good thigs about KKM, more expensive than LW but probably better quality. No matter which barrel you pick check you load to see if it fits in the barrel. The aftermarket barrels are notoriuos for being tight and may need to be bored out if you load long.
  5. Kind a what I figured, a panic that will eventually subside. I'm a fairly new shooter just getting into reloading. Hoping to reload over the winter to prepare for next season, I'll keep my eye for primers when I can find them, bullet & powder availability seems pretty good.
  6. Now that Obama has been re-elected will hoarding begin again of primers, powder etc?? Primers were already scarce before the election, what impact will this potentially have on reloading supplies?
  7. I was able to get thru the book last night, I thought is was very informative regarding how to train to see improvement. I think dry fire drills have been covered extensively by Anderson's book, as a new shooter I struggle how to spend my limited time and resources on live fire. The live fire practice routine is what I found most helpful. I will admit when I got to the end of the book I was disappointed there was not more. Glad to hear your thinking about a book on technique!! The way this book was wriiten information, it was very easy to follow and written so all levels of shooters will benefit.
  8. Replace the sights if it still has originals, recoil spring, trigger springs & polish or drop in (vanek, glocktrigger etc.) and shoot away. Spend rest on Ammo.
  9. Man that is sweet....I gotta stop looking at these threads. Too many wants and it'll get way too hard to start hiding them from the wife!! Who/where is the big players in CZ market?
  10. Good luck not "going in deep" on this hobby. I have a similar tendancy to go "all in" on hobbies. My first year shooting IDPA & USPSA and I'm fully hooked. From Wisconsin as well lots of local clubs that put on great matches and everyone I have met has been very helpful. Good Luck and be safe!
  11. That looks like a winner! Thanks for the link.
  12. I have a Gen 4 Glock 34 for USPSA currently running the stock guide rod & spring. I want to change to a steel guide rod and change the spring. Is there a gen 4 specific steel guide rod with interchangeable springs or do I need to get a gen 3 guide rod and get a gen 4 adaptor?
  13. What effect will cutting a coil or two off have?
  14. I am very sorry for your loss. I know it doesn't mean much but you are showing tremendous compassion having such respect for your GSP's quality of life. It is so hard to let go and do what is right for you beloved friend, you will be in our prayers. I'll ask my best buddy (chocolate lab Sam) who passed a year and a half ago to make stop by the fields and say Hi.
  15. i have G20 mags w/arredondo extensions and they are limited legal. I believe the 20 and 21 are very similar in size.
  16. I've started running a Glock 20 w/ 10-40 conversion barrel in limited. Have shot 2 matches and with range time included probably have run thru 1000 rounds of factory ammo with zero feeding issues.
  17. That looks sweet!!! I also like the longslide. What magwell is that? I'm also currently building a G20 for limited, ordered a carver big mouth (only magwell for G20 I could find. Also been thinking about removing finger groves, any regrets?
  18. I know this is an old thread but wondering if opinions have changed. I am currenlty using a glock 20 w stock length 40 s&w conversion barrel in limited/10. I have ordered a magwell and mag extension to run in limited. Once Lonewolf has slides and barrels in stock (been waiting forever) I am going to add a tactical length silde (same as 34/35) with a 6" 40 s&w conversion barrel cut to length. Wondering if anyone has tried anything similar?
  19. Looking at reloading 9mm & 40sw. Curious what the difference between a slow and fast burning powder. What application is best for each? Thanks!
  20. Sorry I don't know of any, but I'm also very interested to hear if someone knows of any. I have a glock 34 gen4, I can't stand the mag release. Its wide but so recessed into the grip its hard to get good consistent mag releases.
  21. Thanks for the invite Tom, If it wasn't Mother's Day I would be there. When is your match next month?
  22. Hello! Been lurking on the site for a while, reading and learning as much as I can. Unbelievable how much information is available on this site. First year shooting IDPA, couple of matches under my belt. Really looking forward to shooting USPSA. Thanks to everyone for all their contributions to this site the information for a newbie is incredible. Safe Shooting!
  23. I also recently bought a .40 lone wolf barrel for my glock 20 to shoot limited. From searching past posts my understanding it has to do with the caliber size of a .40 being the same as a 10mm. I have read through USPSA rule book but haven't been able to definitively determine what makes this legal. Alos hoping some one can provide clarification.
