  1. I use Winchester Small Pistol with my 38 super comp set up with no problem. I'm also using 8 gr of Power Pistol with 125gr Zero JHPs.
  2. Everyone, We're still on for this weekend and we have a special announcement. The match is going to be held at the Quarry Range instead of our usual range. This will give us some more space, not to mention dry ground! We'll start on Sunday (June 10th) at 9am and go until everyone is done. For directions to the Quarry Range, check out our website. http://www.blackhawkpistol.org/map.htm Hope to see you there!
  3. Whatever you get, make sure you buy the next size bigger than you THINK you need. Better yet, if they make two sizes bigger, get that one.
  4. Here are the classifiers that we'll be doing. 99-08 Melody Line 99-23 Front site 99-43 Color Blind 99-34 Ported View 99-47 Triple Choice 99-13 Quicky II
  5. Doomd, I did start out cold turkey. I just showed up after seeing a BHPC booth at a gun show. The guys at my club took me under their wing and taught me the finer points of USPSA shooting. I was hooked from the start! Steve is right. Bring what you have (XD .45) and learn to shoot with that. Build on your skills from there and ask a bunch of questions of the guys you're shooting with. This can save you a TON of money. Most will let you shoot their gun if you ask. Just remember, be safe and listen to the guys that have been around the block.
  6. Larry, We'll be having a special 6 classifier match on June 10th. If you have your USPSA number (or get it now) you could be classified in one day rather than the four different matches it usually takes. Check out http://www.blackhawkpistol.org for more info. We also have an Iowa forum there as well. Feel free to join.

  8. I use the Dillon Super Swage 600. It's quick and very effective. Here's a link. http://www.brianenos.com/store/dillon.bench.html#swage

  11. Matt and Jake, Thanks again for taking care of us on Green Bay. It was a fun stage and a lot of fun meeting both of you. (I'm the guy with the "V" on the open gun mount.) Great videos, Matt!
  12. I have one (almost) just like it. You'll love your Bedell blaster. I love mine and would not hesitate to recommend one to anyone. It's well worth the money. Dan IS the man. Have fun!
  13. Need some mags for that gun? Tapco 50 mag deal
  14. The Osceola guys are a great group to shoot with. Yes, you're right, they are south of Des Moines about 45 min or so.
  15. I shoot 8.1 gr of power pistol with 125 zero hp and wsp primers in a 38sc case. I get flames that shoot out of my comp, but it doesn't bother me. Quite honestly, I don't even see it except in the evening hours but you do see it in videos that I've been in. Does the "fireball" bother you or make you blink?
  16. I'm going on a limb here but I have to state this. Every time I turn on ESPN2 and see a paintball match being covered I just shake my head. If PAINTBALL can get coverage, why can't we? Looking at all of the valuable demographics that they collected about the participants of our sport, I would think that they could convince SOMEONE to cover our shooting sport based on that alone. Even if USPSA has to pay someone to cover it, I think that they should! If you want to attract more people, you need exposure and what better way to do it than on TV. I'd even consider doing a pay per view of the super squad if it was available.
  17. I've been thinking about getting one lately. How easy is it to go between different calibers? I'm all about having the best tool for the money, but at $370, I just don't know if I can justify it.
  18. Tim, I was in the same boat about a year ago. I was shooting an open Glock and decided to see what single action open guns were all about. After doing a bunch of research (most of it was on this site) I decided to go with Bedell blaster. It was a decision that I've not regretted one bit! Dan is an excellent (outstanding, awesome, bitchin') gunsmith. I knew nothing about 1911s in general and he took me through everything with such patience. He's always willing to answer questions (most of mine are stupid questions) and gives solid advice based on years of experience. Dan's the MAN!!
  19. Sound off if you're going to be there. Tell us what you'll be shooting! I'm doing open.
  20. I'm having nothing but problems with mine. I'm loading 38 super comp. The station one locater piece that guides the shell toward position one keeps getting dinged. This time it was because a case got flipped upside down and I didn't catch it before I pulled the handle and the case hit the top of the press. The first time was because the case must have gotten tilted a bit on the downstroke and got caught between the wedge of the pusher. It's the second one that I've had at this point and I'm about ready to send this thing back. Another question for all of you. When you have the handle of your press all of the way down, does your lower feeder assembly hit the top of the press? Mine does and pushes the assembly arm to the left a bit. I wonder if my machine is out of spec. BTW, before I had problems this last time, I put 200 empty cases through it without a hitch.
  21. I'd call Dan. When I bought my gun from him, he talked me out of the holes. His comp does the work, doesn't need the holes.
  22. I removed non-working link. I couldn't find a 550 / Casefeeder video on youtube to re-link to. If anyone can find a link or has a video I could link, please email me the link, and, the link to this thread. Thanks, be
