  1. Ok, I need to see a video of this in action with a closeup of how the shell gets moved into the shellplade. Please?
  2. If you are serious about getting a complete custom gun, you definately need to look at Bedell. He's a outstanding gunsmith and will treat you right. I'm not saying that the other top gunsmiths aren't, I'm just saying I have first person experience with Dan Bedell and he'll be the one that builds my limited gun based on what he did for me with my open gun.
  3. Gotta love it! It is the end of January and it was at least 53 degrees outside. To celebrate, I took a couple of hours this afternoon and headed to the range. Put 200 rounds through my Bedell blaster and 100 through my Para Carry 12. Gotta love it!
  4. Looks good! Kinda reminds me of mine. You'll love it! http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...ndpost&p=358580
  5. Just got my shorty hard chromed by Dan (the man). He also laser etched the comp. It looks sweet. Thanks Dan!
  6. So, how exactly does it work? I'm just trying to imagine what actually places the brass in the shellplate.
  7. So my question is.... are the 9mm .355 or .356. I've seen references to both. Anyone have any they can check?
  8. I'm another Bedell user and couldn't be happier. Dan is a very knowledgable gunsmith and can build whatever you want. I would not hesitate doing business with him again.
  9. I use power pistol with my .38 SC and 125 gr JHP zero bullets and it works well. I have a Bedell shorty with no blow holes and I use 7.9 gr of power pistol with WSP primers OAL 1.250. I get an average PF of about 169. There is a bit of that residue but not much probably because I don't have any blowholes.
  10. I was out with one of my friends this past weekend shooting pistols and toward the end of our session he said that he wanted to shoot his .22LR at 50 yards. So I agreed and we moved back to the 50 yard line. I set up a standard USPSA target and took three shots placing the dot at the middle of the large A zone. I asked my friend that had a scope on his gun to see where (if at all) I was hitting the target. He looked and he told me I had three shots in the middle of the A zone. I really couldn't believe it so I took a look myself. Sure enough they were there. So I told him to watch the head as I was going to take three shots. All three ended up in the A zone of the head. I've never had a handgun that was so accuate! Thanks again, Dan! This thing is awesome!
  11. Jessej, Where did you get the tube extension?
  12. Shot my gun for the first time today in a match. I've got to tell you, THIS THING RUNS! Not one hiccup. If you're thinking of one, don't.... just do it. I love this thing and everyone that has shot it has complemented on how flat it shot. Some were very surprised since it didn't have blowholes and it was a shorty. I LOVE THIS GUN! Thanks again, Dan!
  13. I don't know if this helps, but I do have one of Dan's shortys in .38 super comp and I'm of the opinion that it doesn't need any blowholes. My config consists of the stainless steel comp, alchin mount, and a Dawson Ice mag well. Everything else is the way Dan builds them. I have to tell you, get your money in ASAP because you will go crazy with anticipation. It is truly an awesome piece of finely tuned machinery and you couldn't order it from a better guy. Dan is honestly a class act (and an incredible gunsmith to boot)! BTW I'm shooting... 124 gr MGB CMJ 8gr Power Pistol WSP primers OAL 1.250 and 125gr Zero JHP 7.9 gr Power Pistol WSP primers OAL 1.250 Gun runs like a top and shoots faster than I can. Don't walk... RUN to the phone and call Chuck!
  14. b.b. bang, I'd consider looking at an open gun from Dan Bedell as well. For the same price and probably the same amount of time, you can get his gun. I've got one of his shorties and it's awesome.
  15. Here's what I've ended up with on my Bedell shorty in .38 super comp (for now). 8gr Power Pistol 124 gr CMJ montana gold bullet OAL 1.250 primers WSP no signs of pressure, makes major easily and the dot doesn't leave the lens
  16. Went out yesterday and put about 250 throught the gun. I don't have a lot of experience with shooting a lot of open guns, but this thing hardly moves when you shoot it. I don't think (at this point) that it needs the blowholes. Thanks, Dan, for your suggestions! Jason <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  17. That is an allchin mount. I just had Dan machine a special design on it.
  18. Dan suggested that I don't. He stated that he has one gun with and one gun without and can't tell the difference. I'm planning on shooting this for a season and then having it hard chromed. When I do that, I'll send it back to Dan and if I feel there is a need for blowholes on the top, I'll add them then. I shot the gun last night and quite honestly, I don't think that this gun needs them, but I've got more time to make that decision.
  19. Check out this blaster! I've gotta tell you, if you are considering having an open gun built, you'd better check out Bedell Custom. Dan does fantastic work and is second to none. He spent a TON of time with me on the phone and made me feel that I could call him anytime with questions about my build before and AFTER I received my gun. He is truly a class act! The gun on her maiden voyage ran flawlessly. I can't wait to put her to use at a match.
  20. Glad you like it. I'm getting a new open gun in super comp and have a bunch of PowerPistol to burn through. I've loaded up some MGB 124s with up to 8 grains in them. Will be shooting out of a 4.25" barrel. What barrel length are you shooting?
  21. Azone, I'm in the same boat. Waiting on my Bedell Blaster! Blue Edge, What is the config that you got?
  22. Just got mine today. Looks good. Thanks again for the tip!
  23. What exactly is the setup? That pretty much looks like what I'm going to get. Which comp did you get? Did you add blowholes? Any other info would be great.
  24. Thanks for the replies. I'm really close to making my decision. I just have to convince my wife I need a new open gun. It's a hard sell, but I just try to refer to it as a set of "golf clubs".
