  1. Sorry for your loss. Did he ever live in GA or CA? His name sounds very familiar. Don't know if I served with him or shot USPSA with him. Any way you could post a picture of him? Again, sorry for your loss.
  2. AJC LINK A suspected carjacker was killed late Wednesday night when the sport utility vehicle he had just stolen crashed on I-20 near West End, police said. Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer James Polite said a woman "was physically removed from her SUV" by a male carjacker shortly after 11:30 p.m. at Peters and Walker streets. "The male fled the scene and entered I-20 westbound, where he lost control after striking the rear of another vehicle," Polite said. "The vehicle crashed into a guard rail and flipped down an embankment," Polite said. "The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene." Polite said the victim was not injured during the carjacking. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was hospitalized with minor injuries. The dead man has not been identified. After the fatal crash, a Fulton County Medical Examiner's vehicle leaving the scene of that wreck was rear-ended by another car on I-20. Both drivers in sustained minor injuries, Polite said.
  3. Well the stars and planets all aligned just right yesterday and was able to make it out to my first match in over 2 years. Decided to shoot Lim-10 in MINOR. I took a little ribbing about it but think I made a good decision. I placed 27th overall out of 52 shooters. Some may think that isn't that great in placement, but considering I haven't shot a match in over 2 years, haven't fired a pistol in over a year and really haven't done any dry firing, I don't think it was too shabby. Results: Stage 1 41 out of 52 Stage 2 23 out of 52 Stage 3 16 out of 52 Stage 4 27 out of 52 Stage 5 22 out of 52 Stage 6 19 out of 52 It felt great to get back out there on the range to enjoy this sport. Had some nice weather, able to enjoy a nice cigar while at it. I hope I can get some more time behind the trigger before Area 6 in a month. Oh yeah, forgot to add, I was shooting a borrowed pistol that I haven't even shot until the timer went off.
  4. Here is a direct link that pulls up the .pdf http://www.griffinsteelmatch.com/scores/March2010StateSteelMatch.pdf
  5. Too late! Jerry knows what is said about him, before it is even said. Jerry knows, just because he's Jerry.

    Glock Problem

I am betting this is where your problem is. Years ago, before anyone was doing Glock trigger jobs, I was trying to tweek my trigger and actually had a mag dump (read.. full auto) out of my G19. I took that trigger bar out and destroyed it and started over with a fresh new one. Let us know what you find out from SJC.
  7. Whoo Hoo! I'm in. Should be interesting! I haven't shot a match in 2 years and haven't fired a pistol in almost a year. Come on muscle memory! Looks like another awesome Area 6 match, as always with Cindy at the helm.
  8. Yeah, the wife and I just watched it last night. Funny and corny! Some of it was filmed at the night club we both used to work at, so we kinda had an interest in it. All of the movie was filmed here in GA, so it was fun trying to identify some of the areas used.
  9. Yeah that would be pretty funny with the Saturday deal, but they are only 5 and 2. Got to love getting 5 hrs sleep every day
  10. I really hate waking up at 2:30am on my day off. Dang kids playing with the alarm clock and turning it on. Tried going back to sleep, but NO, that isn't happening.
  11. I had this posted over in the Open Gun section and didn't get any replies, so I will ask here. I got this comp and a barrel (as a spare from when it was re-barreled) with a open gun a few years ago and I forgot who I got it from and what manuf. they said it was. Can anyone id this comp? Thanks in advance. Oh, by the way, I do have it for sale if interested, it's in the classified section.
  12. Now that is some funny stuff there. That started my Sat morning in a good mood. As for Mark being speechless, that is so hard to imagine! Let us know if she has any other quotes worth mentioning.

  14. By listening to his interview on the radio, at least he didn't cry like Tearman Tebow did.
  15. This thread is useless without pictures! Surprised I posted that comment first! As requested..... Black Red Blue Green Yellow
  16. As the title says, what is the opinion on this laptop/ I have someone offering me one that is about a month old and not sure if I really want to trade for it. Any opinions on this machine would be great. I will use it mainly for websurfing, watching DVD's, occasionally minor photo editing, etc.... Thanks
  17. Man, that is a must see movie!! On cable about 8 months after the release. Still neat showing Open guns.
  18. As the title says, I am looking for a website that you can type in a short phrase and a computer-generated voice will "say it". Need to be able to save it as an mp3 to use as cell phone ringers. Also, would like to be able to do it for free (yes, I am a cheap sucker right now). Thanks in advance
  19. Nice info there and a lot of research & work. How about this: At what age were they introduced to shooting and what age did they compete in their first USPSA/IPSC match (local, informal match is ok)? I'm just wondering how young they were when they got started. I have a 2 year old that loves to play with his toy water gun/Nerf Guns. Actually has some decent stance developed already. My wife keeps asking what am I letting the boys watch while she is away? Sorry about the slight drift.
  20. After playing this for 2 days, I am sore! I found muscles that I forgot I had. Hopefully I will tone down the ol' beer barrel some. I'm glad everyone has had a great Christmas! Here is to a New and Unused New Year
  21. The joy of seeing my two sons enjoying what Santa brought them, with my oldest telling me that he loves his new Nintendo DS. Makes it worth all those long work hours I put in. Merry Christmas to everyone.
  22. Yep, Kel-Tec's revised version of the Grendel P-30. 30 rds of .22 magnum. Should be out sometime next year. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/11...-pmr-30-pistol/
  23. I haven't been able to really get in the spirit of Christmas for a couple years now, due to my mother passing away over 3 years ago. I know this is bad and I really try to be festive for my two young boys, but it is hard. My main complaint is the commercialization of the holidays. I remember when I was young and looked forward to visiting the family and playing with my cousins with our new toys. Nowdays it seems that the true feelings for the holidays are long gone and is all about buying expensive gifts for everyone and rushing about trying to find that perfect gift. Why not spend that time planning to be with your family and remember the old days and reconnect with distant family and friends instead of doing it by the internet (if it is possible to get together). I would rather buy my kids a few good toys that they will play with more than a couple days and spend quality time with my family & friends than go further broke buying stuff that people will either re-gift to someone else, return for something they wanted more or refund for cash or credit. With these thoughts, I bid you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hopefully atleast one person will stop and think about how they choose to spend the holidays. Michael
  24. Ok, not sure if I like this or not, but atleast it had a positive ending. Milwaukee muggers see Army ID, return wallet The Associated Press MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee Army reservist's military identification earned him some street cred Tuesday, when he says four men who mugged him at gunpoint returned his belongings and thanked him for his service after finding the ID. The 21-year-old University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student said he was walking home from work about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday when he was pulled into an alley and told to lay face down and with a gun to his neck. Four men took his wallet, $16, keys, his cell phone and even a PowerBar wrapper from his pants pockets, he said. But the hostile tone quickly changed when one of the robbers, whom the reservist presumed was the leader, saw an Army ID in the wallet. The robber told the others to return the items and they put most of his belongings on the ground next to him, including the wrapper, the reservist said. "The guy continued to say throughout the situation that he respects what I do and at one point he actually thanked me and he actually apologized," said the reservist, who asked not to be identified Tuesday because the robbers still had his keys. The reservist said he asked the men, who all had hoods or hats covering their faces, if he could get up and they said he could before starting to walk away. "The leader of the group actually walked back, gave me a quick fist bump, which was very strange," he said. Milwaukee police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said the reservist is credible and that officers still were looking for the suspects Tuesday. The reservist didn't realize until later that his keys were not with him and he doesn't know if the robbers intended to keep those, he said. Still, he said he feels lucky. "I'm just kind of awe struck that everything was given back to me due to just being in the military, " he said. "I realize in pretty much every other situation that wouldn't happen." He said he's never been deployed, only having signed up for the Army Reserves about a year ago. He said he is the first person in his immediate family to join the military. Schwartz said there were two other incidents within 40 minutes in the same area and police suspect the four men were involved in all of them. The robbers were unsuccessful at 12:35 a.m., when the 39-year-old man they approached ran into the street and started screaming. Schwartz said within 10 minutes of that they approached a 47-year-old man — a convicted burglar who had a Department of Corrections inmate ID in his wallet — ordered him to the ground and pointed a gun at him. They took his wallet, apparently unfazed by that ID. ___ November 10, 2009 11:26 PM EST
