  1. Flex - what do you mean?
  2. Thanks Kimel. So can I keep it in the garage when it's 25 degrees outside?
  3. I’m considering buying an electronic scale and I’ve read the relevant threads. One question: are electronic scales temperature sensitive? I reload in my garage (not heated or air conditioned) and I live in the Atlanta area. It gets very hot and humid in the summer and somewhat cold in the winter (for a southern boy anyway). Thanks.

    Good advice

I haven't been drunk AND stupid in years, but a couple a weeks ago I was both at the same time. I haven't decided to give up drinking, but I think I will stick to beer and avoid whiskey!!

    Good advice

I read this good advice today. If I had just knew this in my 20's . . . "Don’t get drunk and stupid. Be drunk or stupid, but never both at once. "
  7. Thanks for the replies guys. I'll give it a try.
  8. OK, I want to try a new barrel in one of my AR's. I have the DPMS multi-tool, but I don't have a torque wrench or a vice block-thingy to hold the receiver while installing the barrel. Do I really need the torque wrench? Can't I use an old mag in a vice to hold the receiver? . . . or should I just give it up and send it to a smith? Thanks.
  9. Thanks Mig. BTW - the USMC Tech Manual recommends to use a new pin on reassembly of the ejector.
  10. OK, I do dissamble and clean my AR extractor, but I never dissamble and clean the ejector. If you're not having any problems, do you realy need to disassemble and clean the ejector?
  11. There's a decent amount of shooters that have made GM in Prod with their Glocks (at least one on this forum (Matthew M)). But I'm wondering how many guys have made GM in LTD shooting a Glock? Dave S. of course, but are there many others?
  12. Ralph's followers are similarly shaped to the latest Glock followers.
  13. Thanks Flex. I gave it a try but my digital camera takes very poor close up shots and the pic is useless. You can tell the newer ones because they have a "5" stamped on it.
  14. I found my own answer. My "good" followers are the latest version (as far as I can tell) and are marked with the # 5 on them. Here's the history of .40 Glock hi cap followers if you care: "If you want the latest follower, it is part # 1028. They go like this (earliest to latest). .40 1028, .40 1028, .40, 2 .40, 3 .40, 4 .40, 5 Bases for nfml 9/40 mags is #455. Insert is # 5166. Bases for fml 9/40 mags is #3206. Insert is #5166 (same as nfml)."
  15. I was having some mag trouble with my LTD .40 hi cap mags. I found that my mags have two diffent kind of followers - both Glock manufacture. The "bad" followers are taller on the left side and concave as it arches to the top of the left hand side. The "good" followers are also taller on the left side, but more convex. These followers have the # 5 stamped on them. I don't have any extra followers, so I just swaped the "good" followers into the troubled mags. When I did that, the mags seemed to work fine. What is the latest and greatest Glcok .40 follower? Thanks.
  16. I agree with Chris. All you have to do is take out the little screw in the mag pouch and it fits the Glock mags.
  17. LOL! I think the lunch money is safe from the dead and the incarcerated ones!
  18. I'll add to Sam's comments. Get a blued gun and then it's easier to start milling off parts. I did the same thing as Sam, but my Edge is chromed and it makes refinishing the gun more expensive/complex.
  19. I think I recently read in Front Site that the Glock "plug" is not legal for ANY division (which supprised me). It's obviously not a issue if it's not used for USPSA. No need to worry about dirt in that area anyway.

    Scherer mag tubes

Last I heard, the jury is still out on these replacement tubes. Any one tried these lately in hi cap .40?
  21. Sometimes an extra Glock (for road trip matches). You can change guns or just canibal-ize the spare one.
  22. Kurt, I think you’re reading into Bill’s (wnoyes) post. I’ll let Bill speak for himself, but I read his post as simply an interpretation of the USPSA rules and not as a statement that USPSA 3 gun matches are great and non-USPSA 3 gun matches are not. Non-USPSA 3 gun matches are clearly on the forefront of the sport. BTW – Bill and his wife Cindy run a weekly USPSA match, a monthly USPSA match, many of the larger matches in this neck-of-the-woods -- and frequently volunteer for other matches that they don’t run. I respect their efforts and don't think Bill is slamming non-USPSA matches. Cy
  23. Thanks for bumping this Jake.
