just to update, We WILL be going to a 1 day match (October 31), due to slow entries (the "roadies" haven't sent anything yet) Some few range staff will shoot on Friday. All others will shoot with the squads on Saturday. This will allow for a cheaper match administratively, and more for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. I have made an EXECUTIVE descision about the match, since so many of you "regular" revolver shooters are waiting until the last minute to send in your entries, We will be shooting 1 day, Saturday October 31. First shot 8:00 AM shoot until done or we drop. Some range officers will shoot Friday, MOST will shoot with the squads on Saturday. Please plan accordingly. Springfield Armory is now on board as a sponsor. Thanks to them.(Gonna try to get them to send Rob Leatham to shoot too) I spoke with Jerry Miculek today, he said he will try to make the match if any way possible. See you in 8 weeks. Hopalong

Predictions: The King still reigns. Carmonkey gets top 3 Cliff gets top 5 Elliot gets top 5 Annette is Lady US Champ !!! No more than 3 GMs in the match. Don't get 30+ revos shooting the match. I really don't like posting these suggested numbers, but with no chatter, where they are, cost of trip, ect I just don't see it. Maybe the Western Revolvers will show up in force (unlike normal USPSA Nationals) but it seems they preferr ICORE to USPSA ???? Just an opinion, and you know what I say about opinions (see tag line below) Hop

Linda and I will get this "problem" fixed, She is at Area 8 and I am at Arkansas 3-gun. I do have alittle for you though. Holiday Inn Express has agreed to block off 20+ rooms for us. Unfortunately they only knocked 5 bucks a night off ( I guess 5 is better than none). Mention the Mississippi , 3-gun to get the rate, and a room. Well my trusty 11-87 of 21 years (has killed more ducks than Kurt has loaded shells with his left hand) that I converted to 3-gun finally had some kind of failure, and BOY what a failure. The mag tube moved 1/4 inch out of the receiver. When I got home I put it in the vise and prety much just pulled and out it came. It is evidendtly a press pit with Solder to hold it in place. Any body deal with anything like this ? I'm considering getting some epoxy and putting it back together instead of solder and stuff. Hop

Stages are getting reviewed by NROI right now, that is all we're waiting on. Looking good, just would like to see more entries. Don't blame folks for waiting, but sure is hard to plan on anything....................Kind of hard to go to sponsors and say "Well, I don't know what to expect. I had many people tell me they'd be there, but sure don't have that many entries yet." Stages are Area match quality, as far as the shooting goes it might surpass the USPSA nationals (and if you guys would get me your entries in I KNOW the prize table will) GET the HINT ????? HOP

I use a 25-2, 625, 646 for USPSA 646 for IDPA 646 for ICORE. IF I had a 627, I might use it in Steel challenge. Don't think they should be legal in ICORE though. HOP

We're not done hacking and cutting the forest down in North Mississippi, but max 300 is about right. Depending on a few other things it might be a little closer. (299 ish) Safariland sent us a new 1x4 scope for the prize table, works good. (oh, did I mention I'll test drive all the neat toys for the prize table just to make sure no one is dissapointed !!! ) HOP

As of this AM, (08/21/2009) we have 36 registered shooters with at least 10 more saying they are incoming. (4 from the AMU) We are limiting this match to 75 (some of these will shoot all day Friday). Linda will start a wait list if it needs to be done (She's the KING...errr Queen of waitlists and stuff) ROUND COUNT !!!!! PISTOL......71 (Yes we have steel) Rifle..........75 (Yes we have steel, and little bitty targets ! ) Shotgun.....65 (Yes we'll have some fun, tough, fast, slow ect) On the Shotgun, 4 slug (I don't particularly like slugs, we already have a center fire rifle) and 4 buckshot ....(you may want to bring more, just in case) We tried to keep the round count pretty even, looks like we did pretty good.
